Predictions for Harry and Meghan if they return to the UK?

Would anyone like to make a prediction of what happens next for Harry and Meghan if they return to the UK?

I predict, based on Harry’s, multiple statements about his amazing life in the US, he and his family are going to be nothing less than fucking miserable back in the UK.

“I very much enjoy living here and bringing my kids up here,” he revealed. “I feel as though it’s the life that my mom wanted for me … to be able to do the things I’m able to do with my kids that I undoubtedly wouldn’t be able to do in the UK, it’s huge. I’m hugely grateful for that.”

“Living here now, I can actually lift my head and I feel different. My shoulders have dropped, so has [Meghan’s], and you can walk around feeling a little bit more free. I get to take Archie on the back of my bicycle. There was very rarely a day that went by without at least one paparazzi jumping out from behind a car or something.”

How dumb can one couple be to voluntarily leave their self professed Nirvana to return to the shithole they believe the UK is.

Anyone else think this will turn into a half-in, half-out situation, where Harry wants In to the Royal Family and all the benefits and Megs stays Out with the commercial ventures?

I think this is their new version of HiHo - MM won’t set foot in UK but having her DH and DCs doused in royal glitter by living in the UK will, in her mind, keep her in $$$$.

However PH will not ever be a working member of the RF again. He may do more of his own pseudo royaling about in the UK - more speeches, charity activities etc which in some careless minds of the general public might look like WRF activity.

He will always be the son of the king and a member of the private RF - it will be up to KC3 if he includes his son in the grey area that is purely family events that take place publicly - Christmas walk Sandringham. Rock and a hard place for KC3 - could look like a nasty grandpa to exclude some of his grandchildren.

Also Remembrance Sunday - is this purely WRF - or would it look petty for PH not to be there.

I don't see why there's any obligation at all to invite them. They are not part of a family of working royals. If they were older, they could come alone, but they'd have to be accompanied by their parents which wouldn't be appropriate. It's not a personal snub - it's just inappropriate.

I really do think that any meetings between the RF and the Sussexes will have to be totally. The Sussexes stormed off, rubbishing royal life and saying the RF members were 'trapped'. There is no reason on earth that they or their children should be included in any public royal events whatsoever.

He settles in UK for their schooling and does some small low key royal events as per direction of RF in exchange for them keeping titles, a house, security and school fees for kids etc maybe picks up a few roles when Anne or Edward can’t do them anymore.

She goes back to US as she has a part in a new acting role and for ‘commitments’ in exchange for house paid off and her security for 20 years £5 million x 20 is £100 million etc and she keeps jewellery and other stuff.

She has a bigger net to catch a bigger fish she writes a book, tv shows, talk shows, life style brand etc and divorced in 2 years quietly eg we have been separated due to long distance. All amicable etc

People have short memories. The Queen paid off and protected Andrew all his life and Charles - he knows where their bodies are. It was only last year he left the Royal Lodge and he is hardly poverty stricken or forced to cough up and use his own money. Charles is still paying and protecting him

They don’t really fit anywhere now, do they. They’re no way show biz glamour - no talent, no star quality - but they have trashed their “in” to the sort of stodgy but fun cosily dutiful luxurious county family life they could have had with Harry’s family. They seem very isolated. I am sure they can get hangers on to socialise with them but that’s not quite the same as having a real niche

I remember it being said in the post Diana late 90s. IIRC it was thought to be the Queen Mother who wouldn't allow it for some reason. But as you say, different time and circumstances.

I have no idea what they'll do but I am a bit confused by the PPs who think they'll get here, immediately split and Meg flits off back to America. Whats happening to the kids in this scenario? It would be utterly cruel to uproot them all this way for nothing, but equally I can't image Meghan (or any other decent mother) willingly living in a different country to her young children.

Catherine’s Christmas Concert has included many non WRF and their children over the years from the Tindals, Eugenie and Beatrice, Pippa and James. So no precedence for WRF - appears a wide invitation especially for family and their children.

But that’s exactly what she has said she is doing - that she will be ‘leading her businesses from their international residences’ - maybe it’s only for 6 months and she will come and go as many families do when needs must / careers require…..and then she will take them back to Cali.

It’s also her own lived experience - her own mother left her with her Dad for many years so she has a role model of this working out well. Nowadays with better communications/tech and their access to cash and transport - she will probs see them every few weeks. They could spend a 1/2 terms with her in Portugal (saves the long haul / jet lag) and Xmas, Easter and Summer holidays with her in Cali - then she could pop over half way between half terms.

No idea if getting divorced but really she doesn’t need to declare that she needs to be in Portugal and Cali to manage a collapsing jam business.

She would look mean and petty not to include them - but I am sure seating, candles and feathers can be orchestrated to muddy logistics.

My prediction is that they have already split and they are returning so that he can resume his life with his British buddies and find some kind of work here. They will lead separate lives with her pursuing work in film and TV. Living in the UK will be cheaper no doubt.

Maybe there's something we don't know about the life expectancy of the King and financial issues too? Maybe they're returning for tax purposes on the inheritance due? Who knows!

I think he’ll come. She won’t. Surely to God she won’t do a complete 180 regarding all she’s said about the UK and the RF. She set her stall out at the very beginning not to fit in. No one was telling her what to do. That awful, awful, disingenuous engagement interview. Anyone with eyes could see what she was, apart from Harry who was so ridiculously struck dumb by her. I’m sure William was horrified as he saw how his brother was about to be manipulated then hung out to dry. A woman who ended her first marriage by posting her wedding ring to the husband surely must have set alarm bells ringing. What a foolish man Harry’s been. She’s made sure her future is secure by having the two faceless kids. They’ll divorce I bet and it’ll all be H’s fault or the RF are picking on her again. She’ll be the eternal victim. She’ll rinse out a living for the rest of her life bad-mouthing them all

I suspect that if she were just Kate from London and posted in AIBU about being NC with her BIL for six years but he now expected an invite for himself and his kids (one of whom she's never met) to her annual Christmas party then she'd be told to put her big girl pants on and tell him to FTFO.

I don't believe there is any hinting but clearly something is up as it's a sudden change and the Rf only found out last minute. Seeing that, H has a tricky visa situation and it is likely connected to that, also money issues. I can't imagine Meghan loving a return to the UK. She'd have avoided it if she could.
