Could someone please explain to me how Harry and Meghan’s return to the UK will work out.
They’re very unpopular with the British public.
Unless Doria moves over to the UK, Meghan has no family support.
Harry has burned so many bridges with his family.
His friends, those that are remaining, will have to choose between supporting Harry or supporting William and apparently they have had quite a aristocratic friends in common.
William will be the King so I presume he will be supported by many of those mutual friends.
Will the first cousins, George, Charlotte, Louis, Archie and Lilibet ever meet up ?
Apart from probably funerals.
Not my monkey not my circus I know, but it is a mess.

Is it an umbrella that many muddy people crowd together under at a music festival?

I think that’s a parasol grunge.

OliveMyLove · 26/08/2026 01:04

Ohoh, is it when you send a gift basket to a stranger that trolls your in-laws online even though he never met them?

It also wasn’t true that Harry’s father ‘cut him off’ (fgs) and it wasn’t true that she had her passport taken away. It wasn’t that she was offered no help and it wasn’t true that she was refused help.

In fact Harry and Meghan directly contradicted each other during that same Oprah interview.

To me the most depressing aspect of that interview wasn’t the massive porkies that HAM told. It’s the fact that so many people still believe them despite proof to the contrary and even Harry’s dumb assertion that they never accused anyone of racism.

It’s a sad comment on human nature and on the lack of critical thinking. Mud sticks, unfortunately. We all know that when newspapers print something which they later have to correct or retract the original assertion will be in massive headlines and the retraction/apology in tiny print on at the bottom of an inside page. So it only gets through to a small, more rigorous demographic. It was ever thus!

I agree it’s depressing that so many uncritical idiots still think the OW interview revealed anything worth giving credence to.

However in those social circles that Harry wants his children to mix in, people will know the truth - they’ll be among the rigorous ones! They all know that the Sussexes lied their arses off and did damage to their nearest and dearest, for something as vulgar as cash.

Harry really didn’t think at all about his future children’s lives in Britain, or elsewhere, while he was creating the untrustworthy and rickety House of Sussex. Plus, there’s far too much drug-taking potentially involved in that household for my liking.

CoffeeCantata · 26/08/2026 08:02

@TheAutumnCrow

I agree. There will be a distrust of both of them and an awareness that any unguarded social interaction might find its way into a book when they need the money. I suspect H will expect to fall back into his old friendships - but might not find that too easy - and M certainly won’t like his old friends any more than she did the first time! This all translates to separate lives.

And I’d be surprised if anyone in the UK, except the most self-serving celebrities, would want to have anything to do with Meghan. Not because they necessarily support the RF, but because her ‘difficult’ reputation will precede her.

I've seen credibility given to statements on the OW interview very recently, even though lies have been proven. Mud sticks.

I'm 100% certain H wants back in as a working Royal.
But there are steps to that, regain trust with his Dad, note there have been no leaks on what was said with his Dad.

I wonder if H will be made to publicly apologise for the lies, under a clear up misconceptions, or if will be left at say no more about it, let sleeping dogs lie.

bissom · 26/08/2026 08:51

Their doublespeak is so frustrating, how could you ever trust what they say

It won't be a they it will be H on his own.

They are as bad as each other now, I think

Never complain, never explain.

I suspect PH will use the kiddos (minus Meghan) to worm his way back into family and friends. He will be the superhero single Dad that everyone will feel sorry for and include socially.

I suspect that he has been thrown a bone to behave by KC3 to get back to WRF - but that timeline will be extensive and PWs call - so it won’t happen. But PH doesnt realise yet.

I think many of us will struggle to feel sorry for a multimillionaire, petulant, greedy, mendacious, entitled white prince who has made criticism of every UK institution a personal cottage industry.

I agree he must know what he needs to do to get back to WRF.

I do think it will eventually happen, including getting W on board. If he gets in with Dad, then it becomes harder for W to stand firm against him.
Also at some point W is going to need to get support from his own generation, or George is going to have to step up long before W wants him too.

TheAutumnCrow · 26/08/2026 09:25

The only people whom H wants to socialise with will be wary of him, that’s his dilemma. Live by snobbery, die by snobbery.

Those who do accept H socially will be using him for their own ends. Charles Spencer, for example. Harry will be reduced to content for his podcasts and books. Oh the irony.

There won’t be real acceptance for H among his old social circle and their wider families / social class. In fact for some people I would say it could be a marker of how low someone has fallen if they are known to socialise with him. ‘Desperate’ springs to mind.

Don't forget H’s closest friend in the US is reportedly his Head of Security, whom H presumably pays very well.

That's why I really feel for W and C, and especially Catherine.

Yes, mud sticks - but it sticks especially hard when the people it's thrown at can't really respond or retaliate, or properly defend themselves.

I remember the broken look on Catherine's face after those attacks - when she had to go out and face the public, whatever her personal anxieties and fears. I can only imagine how I'd feel if I'd been publicly (to the world!) denounced as a racist and then had to go and do a public-facing job. I know you shouldn't speculate but I don't think her, or KC's, cancer diagnoses were unrelated.

It will be the latter I’m afraid

There was someone on another thread absolutely denying that Meghan made those remarks about titles and Archie's skin colour. Absolute denial.
I think that's how their fans play it.

I don’t think many people believe that nonsense about KC3 and Kate being racists. Megain is a proven liar, multiple times, including on TV and in court, she’s a liar, I don’t believe Charles or Kate have been shown to lie ?! It’s more dignified to ignore and put out a statement like the Queen did! Recollections may vary = you lying toads

upinaballoon · 26/08/2026 11:02

Someone pointed out on a thread that the late Queen was tough and she'd lived through much and probably wasn't too upset by their Oprah nonsense, but the point was that those two unfeeling creatures could think of making those unpleasant waves for her and Prince Philip at that time.
Oprah also went down in my estimation at that point.

Oprah went down in lots of people's opinions.

I don't think she's done an interview since. But she's not someone I really follow so I could be I just don't know about it

I certainly don’t, Storm. I can believe the RF have failings like the rest of us, and more, but not that they are racist in a crude sense. Some of them might be old-fashioned and not up-to-speed in the latest terminology, but not actually racist.

It’s created a stick to beat them with and enthusiastically grasped by those who don’t like them. A few years ago app on here, who claimed to be good friends with a famous black actor who was due to meet KC and C to show them around RADA ( I think it was) said that he believed the RF is racist and wasn’t looking forward to the experience. This is so sad - when your reputation is destroyed like that and some people just swallow it.

But, as the Sussex Squad are so fond of saying, “Haterz gonna hate!”

Didn’t the wonderful Michelle Obama make some sort of supportive statement about the RF after the OW allegations? Can’t remember the deets.

Newname26 · 26/08/2026 11:19

I honestly don't believe any of them are racist

I firmly believe it was a everyday conversation about what a new baby might look like, just the same as people try to figure out if a child is likely to get Dads red hair or Mums eyes.

Yes I think Michelle Obama did say something in support of the RF.

The other thing that got me in that interview was Harry referring to the RF in the abstract, like it was a completely seperate entity to his Dad and brother, every time he said it I was thinking that's your Dad and brother your talking about, they are the bosses of the RF, Gran was still alive but it was obviously Charles and William who were running it on a day to day basis
