Could someone please explain to me how Harry and Meghan’s return to the UK will work out.
They’re very unpopular with the British public.
Unless Doria moves over to the UK, Meghan has no family support.
Harry has burned so many bridges with his family.
His friends, those that are remaining, will have to choose between supporting Harry or supporting William and apparently they have had quite a aristocratic friends in common.
William will be the King so I presume he will be supported by many of those mutual friends.
Will the first cousins, George, Charlotte, Louis, Archie and Lilibet ever meet up ?
Apart from probably funerals.
Not my monkey not my circus I know, but it is a mess.

I guess it will depend how they frame them - they won’t be allowed to suggest that they are working royals or that the trip is official in any way.

But I honestly think the main stumbling block to further tours will be that they don’t get asked. Why would any small developing country throw money at such a pointless circus? And I can’t see bigger, wealthier countries wanting them.

Royal tours are always tied into diplomatic or trade initiatives- they’re not just jolllies.

I'm sure HAM have invited themselves to things.

I'm on the assumption H wants back with Pa, that will be part of the discussions, no more pretending to be representing the country.

I doubt the net value to these countries is calculated in $$$$ - more in political capital for some internal nefarious agenda - H&M are classic ‘useful idiot’ targets.

Well it wasn't true that their son was denied the title of Prince because of racism and it wasn't true that the Archbishop married them privately before the televised wedding, so either they lied or they're not in full command of the facts.

There were lots of things that were proven to be lies.

I think they did to those 2 locations. Or at least put out feelers to see if the countries would bite. But that was then…

Things have changed, the tour countries might have reflected and realised it was an expensive jamboree which didn’t bring them much benefit and HAM’s reputation has taken a dive since then.

I know what you mean, but honestly? You’ve got the RF with their own problems - scandals and poor health, which will have an impact on events, then you’ve got the Return of the Prodigal Son and his trouble-making but glamorous wife just having taken Salty Island and even the RF by surprise, with speculation as to what on earth is going on.

It’s the stuff of a Netflix blockbuster series! I’m not going to apologise for haunting these boards again just now - it’s a fascinating (if depressing) turn of events.

Pa has probably got a list of criteria H needs to meet or he won't support him financially.

He - and Meghan - surely miss being official Royalty. Attention, status, headlines, cutseys, cheering... everything they have lost in a world of juggling, fruit spread and flower sprinkles.

Yes they probably do both miss it.

But its not as glam and glitzy as she thought it would be.
An awful lot of it is reading up on people and charities then making the people you are meeting feel super important and making the day special for them.

That stuff isn't important to Meghan she wants to be on the red carpet looking good without putting any real effort into it.

Represent the Head of State of the UK? Harry has been critical of the RF, the monarchy, the judiciary, the press, and the security services. He's not exactly a good person to do official duties.

I think they miss the attention - hence the constant scrabble to get mentioned everywhere.

Whether that be grief tourism, inappropriate dress, barbed comments and dubious photos.

If there is one thing we have seen with Megan is that she doesn't have any longevity. She doesn't care to try at anything for very long. The majority of her projects have come to nothing and she skips off to the next thing thinking it will be her big break.

Hopefully we have six months of her bullshit at most. I mean if they thought the British press were mean back then, that was before he tried and failed to fuck up the Daily Mail.

The thing is with MM is that she mistakenly thought being ‘Royal’ meant money and having your picture taken loads. It does. But what it also means is travelling to say, some Northern town on a wet Wednesday to cut the ribbon at the opening of a new old folks home. That’s the bit she decided wasn’t for her. Not high profile enough.
