GBNews are reporting that Harry and Megan are moving back to the UK at the end of August.

I won't believe it until I hear it on the BBC.

Have you been to Portugal in the middle of winter? 😁And presumably H, L and A will be in the UK, so it would be a bit odd.

I have :) Early Jan can be like a pleasant early spring in UK & fires watching waves, Atlantic storms sweep in…Take your point though. She’ll be ‘between residences’…LA being tops.

And only a weeks ago she did an overnight change of schedule from announcing accompanying her DH on public and private engagements in UK to totally flouncing. Then on her return to Cali reflected that she felt ‘humiliated and sidelined’ by KC3.

So overnight security now isnt an issue for her and her precious DCs and the hated Salty Island that was impossible to do a public appearance in and left her humiliated and sidelined - is now their new family home …… as all the papers are saying “more to come…..”

Bloody weird isn’t it?

Tom Sykes mentioned Beaudesert when interviewed yesterday...quite how accurate this is remains to be seen

Flexi boarding from year 4... How old are A and L?

I dont think Harry realises that potentially this is what a separation would look like..although if Meghan swans off to live alone abroad and leaves Harry and the kids in the UK then effectively their marriage would be over.

Surely if that happens then the penny will drop for him. Sadly with the amount of time that Harry and Meghan have spent globetrotting and leaving the children in the US with the nanny, the kids are probably largely used to being away from their parents for very extended periods. I actually wonder how present either of them have been in their childrens lives.

But would Meghan really just leave the children with Harry and move abroad? It would be pretty extreme and despite me not being a fan of her generally, she's a mother and I assume she cares about her children too much to do that

Well that's the mother she had 🤷‍♀️

I am sure she cares but history repeats & she was away from Mum with Dad in youth.

She’s apparently very close with Mum now too.

Clearly Hollywood didn’t want her so it’s Pinewood Studios next?
I would love to know what really has forced them to move back to s country they both hated, felt they were very unsafe in and where their despised family live.
All very weird.

Money...its all about their lack of cash and income and with the ANL judgement on costs basis today and the order for the interim payment..they are about to be a whole lot more cash strapped.

Their income sources have dried up... Meghans "business" has flopped and so has every other commercial venture they have tried. Their only marketable attribute is the ever more tenuous and dwindling association with royalty.

Archie is 7 I believe and Lilibet is 5...wouldnt surprise me if the kids are day pupils wherever they are going.

I've no idea how much Meghan cares for her kids, Noodledog, but we know she cares desperately about money and status and on that basis alone I'd be surprised if she gave up on their market value

weegielass01 · 21/08/2026 17:45

I wonder if the alleged acting offer she's been offered is in Bridgerton - Eloise's story is set in Gloucestershire which is apparently one place the Sussexs could live. Bridgerton could fit nicely with her royal status and diversity.

I think they’re desperate for the children to be royal. They ran away, rubbishing that way of life and claiming others were trapped, but now they want to make sure their little Prince and Princess don’t miss out on what William’s children are having.

I don’t know which of them is driving this. Meghan hates the UK but knows royal adjacency is her only hope, Harry is still bitterly jealous of William and saw that his kids were being forgotten and not getting treated like royals in the US and never could be.

i feel for William - it’s just going to be a headache with the Sussexes constantly competing for attention and popularity. And I just don’t know how it will play out.

I really hope people don’t forget what HAM have done.

angstridden2 · 21/08/2026 18:04

I hoped that William would reduce the number of active royals when he inherits; it’s the only way he will keep it going. The Scandi royals have done this. I’d like to keep a Monarchy, but much reduced in numbers and cost. I certainly don’t want to see these two added to the bill which is what I fear will happen in security etc.

BruFord · 21/08/2026 18:04

@CoffeeCantata I agree that the children are their priority (which is good parenting) and I don't think it was working out as well as they imagined in the US. My feeling recently is that PH was pretty miserable - maybe not at first, but he hadn't found his role in the US.

It's fair enough to come home if it's not working out somewhere else; burning bridges in a nasty way and then coming back is something else.

Re ‘The Cotswolds’, people keep saying Beaudesert Park for the children, then talking about her SoHo Farm/Chipping Norton set would be mates, but they are an hour apart.

This was her role model as a child and she would probably say it hasn’t done her any harm. Also Diana’s and to an extent PHs. It’s their normal. I believe she would do this to save her own personal discomfort in UK, dump her STBXH whilst gilding her DCs in royal glitter to merch down the line.

IcedPurple · 21/08/2026 14:55

But if she can get work that helps support them - not a bad thing IMO.

Surely she'd have been better placed to do that when living down the road from Hollywood?

Well she tried there and fucked up .

Ist't there some saying about doors shutting and windows opening to climb out.

Doors have shut there - now she awkwardly clambering out a remaining window.

I'm just saying I'm waiting and seeing what this acting gig actually is before casting aspertions - on off chance it's something impressive that she pulls off - stranger things have happened.

It’s interesting that you say that because there are some who insist that the reason the Sussexes have returned is because they are “needed” In some way (presumably to “pick up the slack”). But if William does decide that it is possible to reduce the number of active royals, we surely cannot be in need of the Sussexes leaping to the rescue? 😆😆

diddl · 21/08/2026 18:23

Why do you think that H&M coming back means he wouldn't?

Even if they become working royals now, surely William wouldn't have to keep them?

Possibly not as much as she cares about herself .

But what would his role in the UK be? Other than the occasional IG gig. I think he misses having someone tellign him what to do either in the armed forces or the men in grey suits.

HelenaWilson · 21/08/2026 18:45

I hoped that William would reduce the number of active royals when he inherits;

Current working royals are the King and Queen, Anne, Edward and Sophie, William and Catherine. How many will still be working royals by the time William inherits, and how could he reduce the number still further?

And don't they only get the expenses of carrying out their roles as working royals?

12234m · 21/08/2026 19:13

The posters who won't welcome Harry back, would you if he divorced Meghan?

No. He's the backstabbing whiny problem. I don't mind if he comes back and lives his life quietly and privately but he won't. He'll continue to attention seek and attempt to undermine the rf.

William does potentially have a looming problem when he takes the throne. There may only be him, Kate, Edward and Sophie able to do the bulk of royal duty stuff.

He won't want his kids to be full time royals until they're at least out of their early 20s. The only other options are to widen the pool of active royals or whittle down current patronages, events etc.

I think eventually Harry, on his own, will return to being an active royal via a soft strategy drip feed over the next decade. Depends to some extent what happens in his marriage but I could imagine a 55 year old Harry with a 2nd wife who is a bit more of a Sophie type.
