I won't believe it until I hear it on the BBC.

Megtrance? Mregturn? 😁

Totally money motivated, they can’t afford the montecito lifestyle to which she aspires. Especially now their US sleb friends have taken a step back. Back to Royal to give them a £££ bounce. Flogging jam and how to make bath salts (🙄) has failed. In the states, that is quite the failure.

They can’t monetise or expect their kids to be accepted and £££ British public if they sound like our cousins from over the pond.

She is poison, he is an idiot. And hasn’t Harry been saying she, and his family, were just not safe here?!! 😂

I hope the meeja respect their asks to be private, especially grifter Meg. I hope the meeja pixelate her, her house, her face, her outfits, her kitchen, her terrible lifestyle pointers forever and ever…. Just what she has asked for. ‘I DEMAND MY PRIVACY, POOR ME, oh but also, here is a dull frock and awful jam, PULEEEEEEZE click click click, publish and republish me and buy 🥹’

At least the Royal household staff no longer have to work for the bully. Pity whoever gets that gig. Maybe they’ll bring US staff over with them? Any chance we’ll see Mindy Kaling visit for Xmas? 💅🤣🤣

Why should they, such a wealthy couple net worth £40/60 million have help from UK workers who start paying taxes on earnings of a meager £12,570 per year?

I'm not saying they should Confused

But given Harry been wanting anyone else to pay the secuirty bill and gone up against the government trying to force that - I am interested in what if anything the UK state would be providing when they move back.

Given even working royals only get a limited amount of security I assume they'd get little but as a tax payer I am interested. I also think it's interesting they aren't being given a royal residence - not surpirsed - but that is a way they cut down on needed security get few of RF in the same place.

I do think PM making it clear it's all on them - which I think is a good thing.

AoifeRua · 20/08/2026 12:41

How do you know they were lies?

The RF and/or the firm behind it couldn't possibly be racist?

For someone who hates the RF you sure do love the Sussex’s

RigsbysCat · 20/08/2026 13:10

Well you're a charmer aren't you? Kate has had cancer as a still young mum with 3 kids ffs. How dare she have eased off her public duties 🙄

Which, in itself is a cruel disease nobody wants.

She has privilege that other working mothers do not have and whom are at the mercy of paltry state benefits who don't all receive occupational sick pay.

Further, most people are at the mercy of the NHS and don't have the luxury of attending the London Clinic for initial treatment.

In fact, a lot of working mothers trudge through work, having to return sooner than they felt able.

Kate's cancer is no more or no less significant than anybody else's.

littlecoffeemug · 20/08/2026 12:58

Being cynical [but usually correct] I believe they have burned through a lot of their money. Not all, but enough to make them realise they won't be able to run with the seriously wealthy Americans. Assuming the seriously wealthy/famous Americans actually wanted them, which they have very clearly demonstrated they don't!

California Dreaming has turned into a bit of a nightmare for them. They're running out of funds, they're not on the Christmas card list of any A Listers, no one cares about what they have to say and the CEO of Netflix has openly derided them as a pair of grifters. The President of the United States has openly called Megan 'a nightmare.' Not great is it?

Though they have gotten exactly what they wished for, you know, total privacy [irrelevancy] and total freedom [no one cares what they do or where they go], fully escaping the hateful racism in the UK and the evil British press. So you'd think they'd be so pleased with that and continue just living quietly in the US?

Yes wouldn’t you.

Your imagination is creative and wild.

How did you do deduce me asking if they are lies and questioning the possibility of the RF being racist to me loving the Sussex's?

I agree but I wonder if there’s an additional bombshell to come?

If M I’d see this as an opportunity for a glamorous ‘three way’ kind of life. Cash in on business ops in UK that being royal adjacent brings. Get boarding established at best schools. Pop off to Portugal when UK based for odd month & then back to Montecito with cash for perma sunshine & R & R.

I was slightly alarmed reading your post about where the 'glamorous three way' was going. Relieved that it related to geography tbh!

It is quite evident who needs the Specsavers check up, and that isn't me.

Creating something out of what somebody didn't say, is a you problem.

Victorius19 · 20/08/2026 13:25

I said some time back that we'd see a soft launch of Harry following the visit to Highgrove a few weeks back. And here we are. My thoughts are with William today who has to face the inevitable interactions with his whining entitled layabout of a brother.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/08/2026 13:13

You're not wrong, jeff, but don't worry - I've no intention of engaging directly with the more obvious derailers Smile

Good 👍 , ive not seen this type of engagement for quite some time, I would not wish to lose any posters to it.

Recklessismymiddlename · 20/08/2026 13:29

@jeffgoldblum yes I got sucked in. Wrong move as I posted in good faith. The shenanigans and about turns have started. But interesting to watch them nonetheless.

I think they’re mad to even consider it. They do seem to insist upon reading the press and being upset by it. They will be crucified. Only the thick skinned and very secure in themselves type of people with a strong family and friendship base could survive it. Hope I’m wrong.

If I were them I’d have bought a lovely (but by their present home standards modest) home in a gated community in some backwater US town or city. I’d have sought a role with a
military or similar charity and lived a very low key life. Tactics such as wearing the same outfit every day when out of the house for months ( as per Daniel Radcliffe) to ensure no value for press in new photos and being as boring as possible would hopefully have led to a tailing off of press interest after a while. But I don’t think thats what they were looking for when they left.

Lilyundervalley · 20/08/2026 11:23

Have you forgotten that most royal and royal-adjacent women have had this kind of coverage? Remember "waity Katie" and how lazy she was supposed to be? The York sisters being body-shamed and mocked for their fashion choices? Sophie and fake sheik gate? Even tindall had some dwarf throwing incident brought up and he was a bona fide English sporting hero. And Diana only turned into a saint afrer she died. To say nothing of Camilla. I'm old enough to remember all of their coverage before they died/got engaged to the heir to the throne etc. Yes I did think the coverage of Megan had undertones but to say she was the only one subjected to horrible treatment is a gross exaggeration.

I don’t believe it’s been as relentless and nasty.

And often you’ll see a positive article about the white ladies juxtaposed against negative Meghan ones.

And then there’s the times Kate’s been praised for the exact thing Meghan is being vilified for: baby bump, avocados, wedding bouquets, messy buns.

But I guess I find more disturbing is the posts on Daily Mail’s social media about Meghan having no uterus, the kids aren’t hers, they’re actors. It’s so creepy. I wish I could spell this word: misogynoir? And plain misogyny too!

I think Zara is an amazing event rider but her behaviour at Meghan’s wedding was terrible: lolling about, huffing and eye ball rolling at the Black pastor who took service. Seriously embarrassing. Imagine if Meghan had done that!

What was beautiful was when Charles welcomed Meghan’s mum and tookboth het hands . Me, a self confessed left of Marx, anti royalist, had a little bit of grit in my eyes at that minute. And a little bit of hope in my heart about this country. How quickly that was dispelled.

I’d advise you and any other longtime posters to follow my precautions and stay well away from these threads.
its the Catherine threads all over again.

Wise words JG. I'd still like somebody, anybody to explain why it hasn't been safe for them to visit for the last half a decade but it's now fine to come live here.

If H had won the Daily Mail case I might understand it better (not that it would neutralise any terrorist threats, but it may have put the press off talking about them to a degree) but he didn't, so it makes even less sense.

Agree I don't understand this at all. It's making his protestations seem a bit like - lies?

The white ladies ? Who are you talking about ? That's not very nice.
It would be horrible if I referred to Meghan and her mother as " the black ladies"! In fact I'm sure someone would report me and rightly so.

Harry said it was unsafe for them as recently as May 2025.
Meghan said in a magazine interview that her children couldn't go to school in the UK because they would be harrassed and papped.
I wonder what has changed both their minds, and so quickly?

It is called a free world and the right to change your mind.

Are we bound to stick to a decision made years previous?

They can go back and forth between any country, in which countless people do.

@AoifeRua I agree with you, but given what they've said about the UK, why on earth would they want to move back and educate their children there? They view the UK as unsafe and unfriendly towards them.
