Money...or the lack thereof...the Nicklin judgement is due imminently and I suspect Harry will be on the hook for millions in uninsured legal costs, particularly if Nicklin rules that ANL can claim costs on an indemnity basis i.e uncapped.
ANL total costs amount to £34.5 million and they have asked the court for an interim payment of £9.9 million. As I understand it the after the event insurance is capped at £16.2 million leaving a potential deficit payable of £18.3 million.
They will probably be seeking to quietly offload the rather expensive house in Montecito as they will not be able to afford to keep it with all the associated costs i.e mortgage / property taxes / upkeep / bills / staff / security etc.
This is a very sudden announcement and one that I understand the King was not informed about until a couple of days ago...I think this must have been planned for a while because otherwise it looks like a bit of a moonlight flit. I cant imagine the chaos of a transatlantic house move and having to settle their children into new schools all within a matter of days...
To enrol the children into private school must have been planned quite some time in advance
I understand that Harrys visa may also have been a key factor..some media outlets are reporting that his visa renewal has been refused. I have no idea about whether this is accurate or not.
Lots more going on here than any of us are aware of but it does look very strange..only 5 minutes ago Harry was refusing to set foot in the UK without armed taxpayer funded security and suddenly they are both running back here and bringing the kids...heaven knows what the heck is actually going on.
