Good points, and whoever is initiating articles, eventually interest will die out. It won't be the Summer forever. Working Royals will be back in circulation, there are lots of serious issues facing the country and above all people are still struggling with the cost of living. If Harry wants to whine about his finances and security he will come across as tone deaf. If he really wants to grow his support he needs to do something new, or at least be consistently seen supporting his charities. At the moment he is coasting on a fast dwindling legacy from his past.

People may not read a book but may watch a documentary. Assume that's what HAM is banking on

Wonder what the sisters think too. Lady Jane Fellowes was married to Robert Fellowes, private secretary to QE11 from 1990-1999, so very much a MIGS and probably in the camp of those whom Diana referred to as her enemies in her Panorama interview. Must have made for tricky relationships at times though I don’t recall any public falling out between Diana and her sister.

I do wonder if W and H knew about the book ? If H didn’t I am sure we will soon find out as he sees himself as the only one entitled to talk about Diana.

Being mischievous for a moment, I would have quite liked William to have written the forward to this book.
Imagine the tantrum that would start! “ She was MY Mummy only!” Cue falling on the floor writhing in temper.

My first thought was kind of the opposite. I think there could be some kind of coordination between the book and the alleged NF documentary. We know the Sussexes and kids were at Althorp this summer, and Charles Spencer seemingly didn't object to them posting photos. To the best of my knowledge, the Earl has never been very close to his nephews, so there must have been a reason for him permitting a highly publicised visit.

Obviously this is just speculation. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

This is my thinking as well, I suspect a joint enterprise of some sort.

If so , I think it is foolish given that William is the future King and - in my opinion- unlikely to support such an enterprise.

Would H have been happy with a joint enterprise that his name wasn't on?

I know the question wasn't for me, but I'm thinking more in terms of the Earl agreeing to be interviewed for the purported 'documentary', allowing the Sussexes to use footage of themselves and the kids at Althorp, that sort of thing. So he gets to promote his book and Harry gets 'rare footage' and an 'exclusive interview' for the 'documentary'.

I definitely don't think it's an attempt to preempt said 'documentary'. It's due to be published in September, and a book like that would surely be a few years from initial conception to publication.

I can't imagine that there would be much interest in either a book or a documentary about Diana. Certainly not enough to make lots of money.

Amanda Platell on Harry's intention to return to Britain more often. I'd be willing to bet those "sources close to Harry" is Harry himself and that he intends those visits should be solo.
