I’ve just realised why I don’t think they FaceTime.
Its the same reason why they wouldn’t let Meghan join the Sandringham summit when she was in Canada -the King/MiGs/Family/Security wouldn’t know who else was in the room when the FaceTime was happening, they could be recording.
They met at Highgrove becuse it’s very private, no recording devices, and I thoroughly expect H&M would have been checked for any hidden devices. No chance of being overheard.
HAM have shown repeatedly how they cannot be trusted. Wasn’t it the jubilee where family members were told not to talk to them on their own?
They have shown how they will sell and leak anything they can for money and to try and stay relevant.
There is no way the King will be FaceTiming those kids. It’s too risky.

Mylovelygreendress · 17/07/2026 22:45

According to Chris Ship HAM and the HAMLETS were in the U.K. until Tuesday.

If they have realised they aren't popular in the US, what on earth do they think their reception in the UK is going to be?

They imagine that the RF PR team will wave their magic wand. I think they've been watching too much Disney.

Interesting. So that would mean they stayed somewhere else Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon. If Charles Spencer could manage four nights of them at Althorp then I might have to take my hat off to him #resilience

Agree @DaisyDooley.

For any other grandparent/grandchild relationship it would be possible, but here there would be too much risk - after all, Harry does have a history of revealing private conversations.

I see Page Six is also reporting that he was commenting on the King's health in New York.

If ( as we've been told is possible) Netflix paid for the nomination, it could be an indication of what they think of the As Ever range.

Yes! , I was going to add , I think it’s highly unlikely that Netflix would be involved unless they wanted to humiliate Meghan ( like the beef shindig!) , it’s a no win pr exercise.. .. she wins ….oh big deal! You were up against a dog food manufacturer with a third of your budget! ……she loses …..oh pitiful! , you couldn’t beat a dog food manufacturer with a third of your budget ! 🤷‍♀️

I’ve posted on all of these threads under various names and despite being no fan at all of the gruesome twosome I’ve never not believed that the King wasn’t in contact with the children. They’ve done absolutely nothing wrong and I hope he’s read Harry Potter to them whilst doing all of the various voices the Queen has said he uses when reading to all of his and her grandchildren.

Just why would you wish for the King not to have FaceTimed etc with the children? And in the extremely unlikely possibility he’s not FaceTimed them just why would you want them hurt and humiliated by a BP public announcement?

If the king hasn’t had an opportunity to play grandpa to those children it is not his fault! , it lies with the parents who have cut them off from all their relatives.! , what about their other grandparents and family?? , are they unworthy? Why? , money? , fame? , opportunities?
those poor children have the life their parents made for them .

@PullTheBricksDown The reason I don’t believe they FaceTime is that we never heard it before.

People magazine hasn’t said so. Meghan hasn’t posted photos of the backs of their heads watching KC on the screen. Harry hasn’t done interviews about how he doesn’t know how much longer his father will be able to read, etc.

And Charles is famously old fashioned and doesn’t even like mobile phones! Are we supposed to believe he’s suddenly had a change of heart! Or that William is setting it up for him?
doubtfull!

What H and M did last week wasn't even approaching HIHO. H went, under the radar and appeared at some of his charities. We will never know what Ravec approved as security so he can say what he likes about enhanced security etc but he's pissing in the wind. Ravec will be many times as good as the RF at grey rocking ( and rightly so.) He managed to meet his father and QC very quietly with no fanfare and with his wife and children. So it's possible.

HIHO would be H&M and children with proper KC / W & family security and appearing on the balcony , doing proper royal tours on behalf of HMG etc whilst shilling what they can in the US. What has just happened is nowhere near this. I think the comments under AB's article show that the two of them have a very long way to go before they are welcome publicly in the UK. & I know DM comments aren't everything , so , of those interested enough to comment on that article I should probably say more correctly , the overwhelming impression is H is not popular and no appetite for seeing him back in the (public) fold, amongst those people who read the article and commented. .

To make up for our mutual tech misery and apparent insomnia, here’s the Independent’s take on M’s Daytime Emmy nomination.

‘If anything, this nomination is a fascinating benchmark of the Sussexes’ celebrity status right now. When they left the royal family, they aimed for the upper echelons of the A-list. But these days, they’re hanging on to a much lower rung of the Hollywood ladder.’

https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/tv/features/with-love-meghan-season-two-emmy-nomination-b3016173.html

We don’t see much from the Independent on this board really, so it’s interesting to see what it says. It’s quite cutting for the journalist Katie Rosseinsky to say that the Sussexes are pretty much where they belong. Ouch.

Meghan Markle’s Emmy nomination makes sense, actually

The Duchess of Sussex’s lifestyle show, panned by the critics, has just earned an Emmy nod. It might seem unexpected, but Katie Rosseinsky isn’t surprised – even if she found the series queasy and exhausting

I know it is extremely unlikely but don’t you wish the RF would issue a statement addressing all these allegations/ assertions that Harry is making ?
I think it would make interesting reading!

I agree but, once the cats are out of the bag, it would just give HAM something solid to chew up and spit out to anyone who'd print their wild ramblings. BP/RF might struggle to prove publicly that stuff hadn't happened?

ShamedBySiri · 18/07/2026 08:46

Collecting all these spurious bought awards is such a strange way to live, although I accept it’s the way in Hollywood/America.
I don’t know how they can turn up and collect the awards and act as if they were well earned.

When DD1 was about three I entered her in a village fete competition to create a vegetable monster. The creation was a dragon made of a cucumber with a crocosmia flower breathing flames and shards of pineapple leaves running down its back. Under my direction she halfheartedly stuck a few of the pineapple bits in. I can tell you I was delighted with my her first prize. She couldn’t have been less interested because of course it hadn’t been the fruit of her own imagination and efforts. It was a useful parenting lesson and I never did such a thing again. DD now has many achievements to be justly proud of, all her own hard work.

Collecting all these fake awards is such an inauthentic way to live. The Pat Tillman was the absolute nadir, I don’t know how he had the face to turn up and collect it. Closely followed by the Living Legend of Aviation where he couldn’t even graciously accept the award but insulted John Travolta whilst doing so.

Have any other Royal family members been given and accepted any such award? I can’t think of any except when Diana was awarded Humanitarian of the Year in 1995 which I thought at the time was well deserved. Plus I don’t think the whole fake award scene was so ubiquitous back then.

Anyway here is this year’s winner of the Pat Tillman award giving a truly humble acceptance speech. Exactly the sort of person who the awards were meant for.

They would be lowering themselves to the Sussexes level. Well, not quite, but it would just give them more ammunition for the relentless victimhood.

BillyBites · 18/07/2026 08:52

Am I remembering correctly that Pat Tillman's mum was pretty cross about the award going to Harry?
