What more summer shenanigans await us from the Montecito duo?

That's definitely was they are after. Back to square one. All that pontificating and drama and they want to end up where they started. It'll never happen anyway.

They are throwing everything at it, including the kids. I imagine they are hoping to get established with a role before PW ascends to the throne

Justdancevance · 21/07/2026 12:43

Meghan never seems to get into an event as she’s always working out where the camera is and how she will appear,

It makes her seem really inauthentic, having animated conversations with herself, staring at the camera, not listening to people, pushing people around so she’s the centre of shots.

I don’t know why charities would be interested in that, along with getting a hefty bill for her attendance

Starryfifty · 21/07/2026 12:44

BigWillyLittleTodger · 21/07/2026 12:39

They wouldn’t be back to square one, it would be even worse for them, William wasn’t the heir when they left, W&C weren’t the Prince and Princess of Wales, now their status is much higher and William has much more power, no way could their over inflated egos cope, they couldn’t before, it would be a hundred times worse for them now.

I think they'd suck it up tbh. They are a busted flush and they need to secure a role for their children too

I think they would pretend to accept anything to secure coming back but in practice as soon as the palace gates open on their return they would start tantruming, what’s that saying? If you choose to ignore history you’re doomed to repeat it……

There is no role for the children, no other grandchildren apart from William and Harry have ever had a role, they won’t start with Archie and Lily that’s for sure.

He'll want his kids to have a similar role to Charlotte and Louis. I imagine they'll have some sort of role ? HAM will insist on the same

Precisely, BigWillyLittleTodger

Not sure about your earlier idea of them being sent out in lieu of Anne if she wanted to retire though. From all accounts those associated with Anne are delighted to have her onboard, and I can't quite see they'd feel the same about this wretched pair

Apart from anything else it was Anne who mentioned spending years learning about Save the Children before going too high profile with them, and that clearly wouldn't suit H&M, whose obvious interest is more what the charities can do for ThEM

My suggestion of them replacing Princess Ann was very much young in cheek, not only would their egos not be able to cope with such a role they don’t have the ability to do the sterling work she undertakes, in reality they are totally unsuitable for a life of public service, the only people they serve is themselves.

Agree. There's a very clear direction to reduce the number of working royals. None of QEII's grandchildren apart from William are working royals. The last grandchild of a monarch to be brought in as a working royal would probably have been the Duke of Gloucester in the 70s? Even if they did need to backtrack (and I really can't think of a scenario where they would), they would bring on known and trusted members of the family. Edward's children would be top of the list. There is absolutely no chance that the children will be brought in as working royals.

Despite all this talk of Project Thaw - I have some faith in the MIGS. It must be obvious to them that of those who take an interest ( and a very great many people are utterly indifferent to the RF ) there are some who are supportive of H&M but if polls are to be believed the vast majority are not. I think bringing them back into the WRF would be a very uphill battle. Private reconciliation with KC - completely different matter. I'm not sure we will ever see H&M on a balcony again, well not the BP one anyway. I also agree with @KatherineParr that if they wanted extra hands on deck Edward's children would be a more natural choice than H's.

(I've been wrong before though & have no insider knowledge 😂)

Oops missed the cutoff - but thank you @BigWillyLittleTodger

He can try but Andrew Mountbatten Windsor tried for his daughters and it was refused even though he was supposedly the late Queen's favourite. H has much less chance

So do I, @BasiliskStare; after all they're largely the ones keeping the images intact, as we see when family members go off piste and it all goes wrong

I also agree that private relationships and a royal role for H&M are very different things, but worry that if Charles really wanted the second option there'd be nothing to stop him. We've been here before with his appointment of Mark Bolland to drive the "rehabilitate Camilla" project, and I've not the least doubt he could try the same again ... and worse, that many would fall for it

Edited to add this is true, @meercat23, but back then there were more royals to share the load, and though the daughters still don't have a very formal role they're still brought in for garden parties and such
Something which, IMO, the RF may well come to regret

BigWillyLittleTodger · 21/07/2026 13:43

If it didn’t work the first time why would it work now? It’s not as if they are apologetic and have learnt the error of their ways, anything but, I just think it’s just their usual manipulation to be able to do the glamorous royal stuff, get paid for security, a huge royal allowance and a family house whilst they merch and grift around the globe.

I agree with this. The fact that AMWs children were not allowed set a precedent, and knowing what their parents are like it will be easy to enforce this precedent.

Pre M, W,C and H seemed to work well together, maybe it would have been different if he married someone else, but even then that is probably unlikely.

Yep but I don't see Meg blustering about how amazing the UK is etc. She was at pains to push how much she loves Australia ahead of their last tour.

Camilla's image was in tatters but she never dissed the RF or the UK.

You are right there would be nothing to stop him and this “reconciliation” has happened under that Theo chappy’s appointment (can’t remember his surname) who supposedly put out that he wants to “bang Harry and William’s head’s together” I really hope William gave him short shrift for putting that in the public domain. Will KC really alienate the whole of the Wales family to get Harry back? I sincerely hope not, but I’m not a hundred percent convinced…..

On the first point I'd be amazed if Meghan was ever prepared to live in the UK again, Starryfifty, but on the tiny chance she did we'd probably see a volte face which everyone would be expected to believe on pain of being called rayyyycist if they demurred

And while it's true that Camilla never laid into the family or the UK, the so called "laziest woman in England" probably realised she had little choice after what went before

I do think KC will get them back in. Under the guise that he's very concerned about PH well being. Which he probably is tbf

The spare's kids are not usually working royals though - even though he pushed for it AMW's children were never working royals.

Archie and Lili will be the new Beatrice and Eugenie.

I think KC might make a private reconciliation with Harry - possibly a long lease on one of the Duchy of Lancaster's estates and an allowance (HAM were offered this when they wanted to step back).

However I don't think Harry would be trusted as a working royal - especially after his recent behaviour and spouting off against the Judiciary. He would be too much of a liability as he proclaims his right to tell his truth lie while at the same time not believing in a free press or the freedom of speech (1st ammendment)

I'm baffled by this tbh. There's zero indication of any such intent on Charles' part from what I can see. Quite the opposite.

Being concerned about PH well being though is cause for a private family reconciliation , not making him part of the WRF.

& separately , I also think it took two decades or more for Camilla to be rehabilitated ( and for some she still isn't) - it isn't a 6 month nor even 2 year project. & as has been noted whatever C did , she kept schtum about the RF.
I have to say I like Camilla , many don't. I don't think she wanted this. I don't condone everything she and C did , but I think she's trying to make the best of a position she never wanted.

I can't remember the poster who said Camilla puts up with the royalty because of the man , Meghan puts up with the man because of the royalty. Who knows if it is true.
