What more summer shenanigans await us from the Montecito duo?

Am I remembering correctly that Pat Tillman's mum was pretty cross about the award going to Harry?

She was angry and upset. Quite vocal at the time.

Mylovelygreendress · 18/07/2026 09:09

Do we think that now that A and L have met Grandpa King they will be given the opportunity to meet Grandpa Markle ? After all if H and M are prepared to forgive the RF for racism and causing Meghan to have suicidal thoughts then surely they will find it in themselves to forgive an elderly man for posing for some photos ???

MrsLeonFarrell · 18/07/2026 09:24

There is nothing wrong with being nominated for a daytime Emmy, daytime programmes bring a lot of joy and comfort to many people. The problem comes when you speak as if telling people to put dried flowers on everything and re packaging pretzels is elevating everyday life. When you do that and insist on attaching your title to the producing of runny spread at inflated prices, then you are opening yourself up to comment and criticism.

The Independent article puts its finger on the main problem they have. They are expected to be A list, producing quality, useful programmes because they keep wanging on about living lives of service and being royal. If they could only get comfortable being minor celebrities and influencers without their titles they would attract far less criticism and comment.

Meghan, the actress from Suits, selling candles and showing us to arrange flowers in a niche daytime slot would probably have had far more longevity than the Duchess of Sussex did. They are hobbling and limiting themselves commercially at every turn.

As an aside, the fact that Harry seems to believe that staying in a royal residence makes him half in just proves he never grasped what actual royal service is about. Being a working royal is about representing the King, not staying in one of his properties.

I agree. My main problem with the With Love with Meghan was how inauthentic it was. One episode that stood out to me was how she went to great detail to make breakfast look "joyful", how making a cooked breakfast in the morning was just as quick as cereal and how breakfast was a time to "connect". It almost felt like shaming the rest of us who don't do this.

I mean I'd have time to cook a fry up every morning and make breakfast an occasion full of joyful and connection if I had people to clean up after me, nannies to get the kids up and away to school and I didn't have a work place to be in by 9. So unfortunately my kids will have cereal in front of cartoons just like everyone else.

Exactly.

Very similar to his interview with Chris Ship in Ukraine - I'm here, I'm working - I'm a working royal.

The DM and others will run with the story, because outrage creates engagement, but there will be no change in the Palace.

@AnAutumnCrow archiving wasn't working for me last night either, though it worked easily this morning.
@DaisyDooley has archived the DM article, so here is the Independent one
https://archive.is/mtuWc

Re the DM article - Palace Confidential is their weekly YouTube show. It's usually pretty sensible - the most regular contributors are Rebecca English and Richard Eden. They have a new host who is finding his feet (their previous host was good - Jo Elvin, who has recently left and is now co-hosting Royals Uncensored with Katie Nicholl - rather more sensationalist in tone).

doubt it! Thomas has nothing helpful to further their brand!

And yet, funnily enough, it would make them look better if they were to visit him and actually make sure he had what he needed, left him some gifts, and said ‘no photos’.

No-one thinks they’ve done this because it’s widely believed that they would have blabbed about it. And there’s their problem. The perception, learned from actual experience, that they are low-class blabbers.

Cardemomle · 18/07/2026 08:49

They would be lowering themselves to the Sussexes level. Well, not quite, but it would just give them more ammunition for the relentless victimhood.

Clapping back at HAM would feed their narc desire for attention and encourage them to poke the RF for attention.

And the narc always has to have the last word, so it would be a forever job.

Grey rock. Ignore

It's quite funny - I briefly went on to Reddit last night. There was a thread there of people totally convinced that the reason the Palace had put out a statement regarding the 'private family occasion' and that there would be no images was that the Sussexes had made that a condition of the meeting.

Apparently the palace always use photos for PR and the Sussexes don't leak and never use photos of their children's faces, so wouldn't have allowed the meeting otherwise.

I agree. The grey rocking has been excellent. It's shown that the RF have risen above the folly and the lies. H&M are being hoisted by their own petard.

That Reddit group keeps coming up as a suggestion for me. I'm not sure we have enough in common. I prefer the middle path rather than one extreme or the other.

Agree. I do appreciate other people taking the hit and reading it for me though.

I ventured into a few other forums but quickly exited and shut the door. It does make me laugh when we are described as crazies on here, because this is such a tame part of the internet.

Yes, comments on either side on Reddit can be quite unbalanced - and very unpleasant.

I don't go on very often, and for royalty usually stick to a sub that mostly just reports news, but do then have suggestions crop up like this one.

I’ve not had time to read the full article as yet but going by the bullet points, I thought he would try and use Anne Widecombe’s murder to his advantage, that’s how his twisted mind works, what he doesn’t realise is he will be at the bottom of RAVEC’s now very long list in the wake of this horrific event.

Didn’t they claim to be “always face timing” HMTLQ when she was on the throne? I didn’t believe that then and I don’t believe they face time KC either otherwise the “reunion” wouldn’t have been such a big deal and witnesses i.e Camilla would not have had to be present.

They have always been offered royal accommodation so no, still being offered it doesn’t mean half in half out, nothing has changed. The extra security? Two bored police officers he called himself, again nothing has changed. As for saying they are in contact with William, this just proves this article is nothing but the usual complete hogwash from the Duke and Duchess of Scamelot.

Of course he's using the Ann W murder to his advantage. What a horrible bastard. In contact with William ffs

I find here the most balanced. X is particularly awful, from fans of any royal.

BasiliskStare · 18/07/2026 13:00

In my view the one disadvantage of the grey rock approach is that the other side can spout all sorts of nonsense knowing they won't be contradicted. The advantage of it is a little like Napoleon saying " never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake ". I think the problem is H&M have shown their true colours by their own behaviour. Their implacable fans will believe them. Of those who take a broader interest , I think many won't. I doubt many who take an interest will believe it was H&M's idea to insist on no photographs with KC. (But see my first sentence ) .

Re the Emmy thing. I don't really care whether M paid to enter WLM. I am more inclined to believe NF did as previous posters have said to reignite some interest for ROI. Now whether that gives M the chance to refer to it as Emmy nominated , Emmy award winning , I don't think it really matters. Those who know about these things will know she is not in the realms of Slow Horses etc. So she can say what she likes, but it doesn't turn Archewell productions into Shondaland. It sounds good, but won't fool Hollywood producers, important streaming companies etc. And to be fair some of the photography on the show I thought was really good.

Anyway that's my view from the bridge FWIW.

I think if HAM ever personally attacked William, Catherine or their children again, he would speak out and he would go so far as to have them stripped of all titles.

If HAM were any way strategic/ clever, they would be doing absolutely everything they can to get William and C onside as they will ultimately decide HAM's future. But they are not smart people

Starryfifty · 18/07/2026 13:18

So they are leaking about meeting and he's commenting about his father's health at the Times Awards ?
