According to someone on X who claims to have been there , M arrived 25 minutes late and left early to get changed for the rugby . She also claimed there were only about 100 people there.
I am sure more details will emerge !

If the hotel (organisers?) had indeed been letting other guests in free I wonder how many of those 100 had actually paid to attend?

CesarSoubreyon · 18/04/2026 10:44

Meghan and Harry have always been about the short term, whereas the Royal Family play the long game.

This trip to Australia may have been a success (by their standards) but these visits cheapen their image and they will run out of places willing to host them. Meghan's also pretty much ended up where she started- hawking merchandise on social media. They're both doing what they were before they even met, but now without the weight of the Royal Family behind them. I doubt this was ever what they had in mind when they left back in 2020.

If it's a business model for the future then there's not a lot of longevity in it. Meanwhile William and Catherine will be King and Queen eventually. The contrast is very stark.

here will come a point when reputable brands won't want to touch her

Or a time when those small brands she is wearing will grow because she championed them

If she wears givenchy and the like she is accused of being out of touch and flaunting worth. If she does cheaper (still expensive) she is accused of being a downgrade

She so is a downgrade in all ways.

He’s a very shadowy individual right in the thick of things! , his nickname is the fixer , he was responsible for checking and granting membership to soho house to all the unsavoury people..Epstein, maxwell , Weinstein to name but a few ..he is also difficult to find anything concrete about his background or life! Everything has been scrubbed from the internet, it’s only recently since he facilitated Harry and Meghans relationship that his name and image has become reported on ! , very interesting and very worrying.

Please tell me you are not implicating Soho House in all of this. Likely a few MNetters are members of one or more. They will know as do I, no you do not go there and see drugs everywhere, no sign of them, sorry to disappoint. MA was a waiter, he got promoted, nothing unusual Soho hires from within often. He got on with the founder who used to be around a lot, stepped back after a cancer scare, he has a foul mouth that's about the only thing I can fault Nick Jones on. MA may have used his contacts at Soho, Meghan had her hennight at the Farm. In Soho world they are nothing, much bigger fish to fry. One of the world's richest fashion tycoon has regular private family meals there BA, polite, low key. Other 3 in particular very famous female American celebrities stayed for long periods, no drugs, no scandal, all pretty boring. I dont know why people think MA has this hold over Soho, he really doesnt. Anyone who has ever been to a house in the UK or abroad will know the drugs thing is total sh.. Do you really think a company that is owned by Ron Burkle, an American billionaire is going to be selling bags of coke from behind the bar.

As for Megsy & Harry no one cares. I have friends and family in Australia. Her wardrobe was not the best of Australian designers in fact the ones she choose eg Sass & Bide are quite dated having had their heyday in the early 2000s.

corblimeygvnr · 18/04/2026 11:18

Where else could they go? They warmed up with Nigeria and Colombia. They've done Australia. They've done Canada. Blaze of interest in these trips at the time often criticism and piss taking then it's back to Montecito.

I would suggest the Caribbean. Maybe Jamaica?
They seem to be doing some sort of Commonwealth -ish tour? Strange as they "stepped back" from the official Commonwealth Ambassador roles.

Look at the massive audience at the girls weekend. We know there was a journalist in there. Can’t wait to read her write up.

It really doesn't have the appearance of a high end luxury event, does it?

It reminds me of staff training weekend I've been on. Same kind of corporate setting in a windowless room.

HelenaWilson · 18/04/2026 11:39

They went to Jamaica for the premier of the Bob Marley biopic. It's not clear whether they were actually invited. They sat in the cheap seats.

Wherever they go, it has to be somewhere M can merch her wardrobe. She (supposedly) gave offence in Nigeria because of how inappropriate her outfits were. And most of them were inappropriate for the occasion, even if some of them were attractive items.

That's exactly what I thought! It looks like a work jolly where the company got a steep discount from a chain hotel for a large off season booking. Generic decor and decent but bland food. Boring 'group discussions' about 'future directions'. But at least in this case you'd be paid to attend, not have to part with over a grand for the privilege!

Ah, yes. I remember the trip to Jamaica.
Also the backless dress she wore when visiting the school in Nigeria 🙄

LazyCatLtd · 18/04/2026 11:40

Apparently Harry left very abruptly before Meghan was finished on stage. Wonder why.

ShamedBySiri · 18/04/2026 11:45

Brilliant clip of a sunbather refusing to move for the entourage on Bondi beach! 😂😂😂

I can't imagine how she could have thought that was appropriate. It didn't even look good - it was limp and crumpled.

ShamedBySiri · 18/04/2026 11:50

I think there’s another couple of sunbathers further back too. What a circus.

Oh my!! Defensive much!! , do point out where my post mentioned drugs ! And I think it’s clear that I was talking about Marcus Anderson!
however soho house , has unfortunately had many members that are not above board and it has been mentioned in the Epstein files!

Yes, very reminiscent of my staff training weekends too. I bet there is a table at the back with a tea urn!

@jeffgoldblum I agree, MA is a shady character.

I don't think the Caribbean is big enough for them. Countries are small. They don't have the funds. They've done Jamaica which is the biggest former colony and imo those nationalities tend not to appreciate outsiders acting how H and M do. I'm choosing my words carefully here. They don't like cocky people.

And how the mugs who paid felt! Finding out they could have just booked a night at the hotel and walked in!

Treylime · 18/04/2026 13:31

I would have assumed a Retreat would have exclusive use of the venue. Certainly not fair that they let hotel guests into the event for free.

Calm down, Soho House PR.

But more importantly, I have a question: could someone please explain what the fuck an "alternate drop menu" is? I've googled and I still don't understand the concept 😄

whattheflipz · 18/04/2026 13:34

One plate chicken served to a guest then the next guest will get Beef.

That's bizarre .
I've been to "functions" where you can choose on the night , I've been to functions where you have to choose your menu in advance , but for £1700 I wouldn't expect to just get whatever was determined by where I was sitting.

But if the attendees enjoyed it , who am I to carp? 😄
