Anyway, my point was that she is wearing smaller brands not because she wants to promote less well-known designers, but because none of the more prestigious fashion houses want to get involved with her.

I'm sniggering a little at the way in which you'e acting as though this is an academic discourse, rather than gossip about someone who wiggles her bum for likes on Instagram.

But since you ask, no, I don't have 'proof' that prestigious designers don't want to work with said bum wiggler. It's not like they'd go on record about such matters. So yes, it is just a 'theory of mine' that someone who wore custom couture at every opportunity as a royal is not promoting minor designers as an active choice.

Meghan took to couture like a duck to water and given her great liking for the visible trappings of wealth and position there’s absolutely no way she wouldn’t be wearing it now if she could get it for free or as part of a ‘face of’ arrangement.

To suggest otherwise is laughable - unless she’s wearing it in the Wendy house with Lili when playing hoosies with her.

It's because high end designers stay schtum that we'll never know what happened over the hideous wedding outfits, @IcedPurple - which is a shame in some ways - but I recall saying at the time of the "wiggling" that she could say goodbye to any more favours from them

Charles spent it! Yes, custom Dior, Givenchy and Stella McCartney doesn't come cheap.

I remember being stunned by the dress she wore for her official engagement photo costing £50,000.
Diana went to Harrods and chose something off the shelf, don't remember the price but it would have been hundreds not thousands. Ditto the dress Catherine wore.
I think that was probably the first red flag - here comes trouble.

Catherine's engagement dress cost £385. Incredibly cheap if you count it as "per picture sold around the world".

I think her chances of a collaboration with a high end designer were slim even before the labour room 'dancing' video but I agree that it put an end to whatever possibilities might still have existed.

No prestige couture house wants their brand associated with someone squatting and pulling her skirt up in a hospital room. Can't imagine why.

And Catherine looked beautiful IMO. Meghan did too without doubt, but the cost was certainly eye watering!

And gorgeous wedding dresses both. I lovd Camilla's embroidered coat also. I saw in in the flesh (so to speak) at the V&A. It was TINY, Camilla must have the teeniest waist!
