Prince Harry and Meghan’s huge Aussie plans revealed. Visit to Sydney and Melbourne in Mid-April.

EXCLUSIVE

More than seven years after then-newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan embarked on their hugely successful Aussie tour, the couple is reportedly heading back Down Under.

A source confirmed exclusively to news.com.au that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to visit Sydney and Melbourne in mid-April.

While their last trip to our shores was in an official capacity as working members of the royal family, this time around they’re travelling as private citizens – and it’s understood they’ll be focusing on activities related to their businesses and philanthropic work.

Details of their specific plans remain unclear, but it’s been rumoured that Meghan will appear as a guest on the Her Best Life podcast, which was initially launched and co-hosted by Jackie “O” Henderson and Gemma O’Neill through their “Besties” company. Earlier this year, just a couple of weeks before her high-profile and abrupt recent exit from her KIIS breakfast show, Henderson revealed that she had decided to “step away” from the venture.

It’s rumoured that Meghan will also appear as a special guest at an upcoming “Besties” event, following in the footsteps of previous VIP speaker Gwyneth Paltrow.

The actress took part in a wide-ranging Q&A with Henderson back in 2023 which attracted around 3,000 ticketholders to the ICC in Sydney’s Darling Harbour – so Meghan’s appearance could be in a similar capacity.
Despite Henderson’s recent departure from the Besties company, she hinted last month that she may return in some capacity in the future - and perhaps Meghan’s involvement could be one such occasion.

Gwyneth Paltrow was the special guest at a Besties event, run by Henderson (left) and Gemma O'Neill, back in 2023 – and Meghan is now rumoured to follow in her footsteps. Picture: Supplied
While details of the couple’s itinerary are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks, it’s likely that Harry’s plans will involve Australia’s armed forces or veterans’ community, given his strong connections to both.

It’s understood he also has a number of friends locally, fostered across multiple previous visits, including during his month-long stay with the ADF at an army barracks in Darwin back in 2015.
And in his 2023 memoir, Harry gushed over his time living in Australia as a 19-year-old in 2003.
He wrote in Spare that working as a jackaroo on a farm in rural Queensland had helped him find inner peace during what were “some of the best” weeks of his life.

It’s not yet known whether the Sussexes’ children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, will join them on the trip next month or stay back at the family’s home in Montecito, California.

News.com.au understands that the royal couple’s Aussie visit has been in the works for almost a year.

maybe Harry and Meghan do hospital visits without cameras etc. How would we know?

Why do we know about this one?

Normally I agree but for whatever reason these countries still treat h and m differently and facilitate this behaviour!

So you think that if the King issues a 'statement' then these 'tours' won't happen?

Australia is an Overseas Realm. If any gov is familiar with the Sussexes' status, or lack thereof, it would be this one.

I know it's annoying watching them swan about cosplaying royals. But to repeat, if people are happy to indulge them knowing full well they have no official status, a BP press release is not going to change a thing.

Yep. Australia gets all the royal news too. And Murdoch media -mostly sky, news.com. au - is always finding fault with them although the worst is aimed at Meghan. Maybe Australians just aren’t as easily influenced?

Should the gov also be making statements about Beatrice or Eugenie's business activities or trips abroad?

They also have royal titles, which they sometimes use for commercial purposes.

Like I say, official 'statements' about these two gives them an importance they don't merit.

Frankly, Beatrice and Eugenie shouldn't be doing it at all, but yet again Charles is a soft touch. If William doesn't act when Charles dies, I'd be surprised - and disappointed.

An ageing, ailing, sentimental, sometimes petulant monarch who ascended the throne in his seventies has been a recipe for disaster, especially one who evidently is regretting the estrangement from his younger son for which he likely blames his mother and is now blaming his older son.

But that's Charles. It's in his nature.

If Australians are happy to let their sick children be exploited by two foreign grifters, that's up to them.

Can these 'uninfluencible' Aussies tell us precisely what qualifies H&M to do hospital visits for the media?

I think it’s foolish to pretend that the pair of them are popular in Australia

Yep. We know about this one. Surely you don’t need an explanation as to why? It seems to bother you, so perhaps stop watching and talking about it?

I’ve seen enough for today. So I’ll stop watching and talking about it for now.

I'll ignore your snide attempts to make this personal.

So you're saying they made sure to have full media coverage of this particular hospital visit on the other side of the world, but are quietly visiting other hospitals on the sly?

What would be the reasoning behind that?

ShamedBySiri · 14/04/2026 15:09

The warm welcome from the hospital suggests that Australia still has fewer Republicans than the Republican movement would like to think. Either that or the whole thing has been set up by Republican minded people to rustle up a storm and bring a few more people round to their way of thinking.

I think some people just like meeting famous people - the difference here is the coverage they get from the press.

If you had a famous popular celebrity doing a visit like this you’d probably get a similar crowd and some people wanting to meet them.

But there’d be one photographer - there’d be a couple of photos taken which would make their way into the hospital newsletter and maybe a couple of local papers if it was a slow news day.

What turns the Harry and Meghan show into a spectacle is the press want the Royal adjacent drama for clicks.

Oh please. They crave attention and the limelight, there's no way they'd do anything without cameras.

Apparently ( according to Australians on a certain forum!) h and m are in the unfortunate position of being disliked by both the republicans and the monarchists ( they really didn’t appreciate their behaviour on the last tour or the treatment of the queen!) so that’s unfortunate!

Janiie · 14/04/2026 15:37

The pictures are awful they just have such delusions of grandeur and that constant rictus grinning. Ugh. Such try hards yet failing at every step.

BasiliskStare · 14/04/2026 15:42

I think the main thing which might curtail them would be if the publicity generated by their visits to organisations, charities etc is very negative. So , I don't know , but the hospital , or another might reconsider inviting them again if some of the comments about face masks , selfies , name tags , photos on websites to help flog M's dress etc are widely and critically reported. This might reduce the invitations they get. At the moment if they get invitations (or perhaps wangle them ) it looks like they'll turn up.

I would put decent money on a Harry comment re geopolitical issues being the straw that breaks the camels back, so to speak. He's an idiot, really and as a PP pointed out, has caused a few sh*tshows previously, but we weren't on the cusp of a global conflict back then. One more really thoughtless statement could have the UK government specifically having to state that they're private individuals, on a private trip to a foreign country, and not in the remit of an official visit. That should bring him down several pegs, if that happens, so I'm sure M&H are going to need to be extra careful about what they say. As poor as the visuals are for the sick kids being put at risk to meet them, it's low stakes compared to them being allowed to meet charities with a far more political slant to their work.

I agree. Harry needs to watch what he says, I'm sure the government don't care about the hospital visits and looking at soldiers but if he says anything detrimental to their agenda they might finally make it clear he only represents himself.

Struggling to see why it’s anyone else ‘s business. The vitriol these two attract is pathetic

Exactly.

Frankly, it's sheep behaviour. People just wanting to seem cool because they think it's the in thing to hate on them.

Like people genuinely go out of their way, time out of their business or life to show hate.

Pathetic.

MrsLeonFarrell · 14/04/2026 15:48

Has anything either Harry or Meghan have said had political ramifications? I can't think of anything.

Yes it's irritating to watch them wandering around forcibly hugging but i really feel that they are only causing reputational damage to themselves. If they cause a political scandal then the government need to step in but at the moment they just look pointless and rather sad.

lol at my age I had absolutely no desire ( nor will I ever be) to be cool.

There is no hate. If you see hate, report it.
Criticism and mockery? Yes.
They put themselves out there and behave in controversial ways.
People are entitled to comment. Oh, and it's ok to be critical!

I need to add allegedly here! But according to another forum , the reason the tour is all over the place is because they phoned around to get invitations and there wasn’t many charities who were interested and these were the ones who agreed!!!
no idea if this is true obviously but inviting themselves is something they have form for!
