Prince Harry and Meghan’s huge Aussie plans revealed. Visit to Sydney and Melbourne in Mid-April.

EXCLUSIVE

More than seven years after then-newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan embarked on their hugely successful Aussie tour, the couple is reportedly heading back Down Under.

A source confirmed exclusively to news.com.au that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to visit Sydney and Melbourne in mid-April.

While their last trip to our shores was in an official capacity as working members of the royal family, this time around they’re travelling as private citizens – and it’s understood they’ll be focusing on activities related to their businesses and philanthropic work.

Details of their specific plans remain unclear, but it’s been rumoured that Meghan will appear as a guest on the Her Best Life podcast, which was initially launched and co-hosted by Jackie “O” Henderson and Gemma O’Neill through their “Besties” company. Earlier this year, just a couple of weeks before her high-profile and abrupt recent exit from her KIIS breakfast show, Henderson revealed that she had decided to “step away” from the venture.

It’s rumoured that Meghan will also appear as a special guest at an upcoming “Besties” event, following in the footsteps of previous VIP speaker Gwyneth Paltrow.

The actress took part in a wide-ranging Q&A with Henderson back in 2023 which attracted around 3,000 ticketholders to the ICC in Sydney’s Darling Harbour – so Meghan’s appearance could be in a similar capacity.
Despite Henderson’s recent departure from the Besties company, she hinted last month that she may return in some capacity in the future - and perhaps Meghan’s involvement could be one such occasion.

While details of the couple’s itinerary are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks, it’s likely that Harry’s plans will involve Australia’s armed forces or veterans’ community, given his strong connections to both.

It’s understood he also has a number of friends locally, fostered across multiple previous visits, including during his month-long stay with the ADF at an army barracks in Darwin back in 2015.
And in his 2023 memoir, Harry gushed over his time living in Australia as a 19-year-old in 2003.
He wrote in Spare that working as a jackaroo on a farm in rural Queensland had helped him find inner peace during what were “some of the best” weeks of his life.

It’s not yet known whether the Sussexes’ children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, will join them on the trip next month or stay back at the family’s home in Montecito, California.

News.com.au understands that the royal couple’s Aussie visit has been in the works for almost a year.

Please no, we don’t want them.

Agreed. Please, no.

SouthernNights59 · 08/03/2026 07:31

It seems they have no plans to visit NZ - HOORAY 👏

Agree. The media calling them trips and not tours would be a good start.

This article only uses “trip”and “visit” for this latest venture. The word tour is only used when talking about their last visit as Royals after they were married.
Half the problem is they feed off their marriage status more than they should. They need to get back to having separate personas like Sharon and Ozzy. Together but able to stand on their own merits.

binkie163 · 08/03/2026 08:43

I get aristo/posh sofa surfer vibes off these two. Everyone knows 'that sponger mate'
They are similar, happy to visit if travel, accommodation, money, presents, clothes etc are provided free, they don't seem to dip into own pockets. It is their equivalent of having to listen to 1 hour boring timeshare presentation to get free Disney world tickets. Free holiday for a few boring meetings.
Was it QE1 who always travelled to stay with her aristocracy to save her own money, they would go broke to host, paying for lavish food, lodgings etc for up to 300 entourage. It was deeply resented.

CanISeeYourLicence · 08/03/2026 08:47

I doubt this will go as well as they seem to think. I'm Australian and everyone I know just speaks of them with scorn for their moaning, their whinging and their inability to appreciate the gifts the universe bestowed upon them.

Struggling to see why it’s anyone else ‘s business. The vitriol these two attract is pathetic

So why are they announcing it?

Some papers referred to the Jordan trip as a tour (the D Express for one) so I'll wait and see about this one!

I agree, certainly the Australian media is probably the most scathing I’ve seen.

I think this experience might be a bit of a shock to the system for them as it will be the first time they have a direct comparison to a place they visited when they were officially representing the RF and before everything went to pot.

I’m sure the visit will be highly curated to avoid them coming into contact with the general public (and risking them being booed) but I’m sure they will notice a very stark difference nonetheless.

For the person above defending their right to visit - of course they can visit wherever they want. They’re the ones announcing their visit and trying to give it the type of importance as a royal tour. They have no actual business to be done there, as much as they talk about “charitable and business ventures”. Their charity has been wound down, all they’re doing is their rent-a-royal gig, turning up to whoever will have them for their own publicity and self importance.

Visiting a Commonwealth country they previously visited as working royals could well throw up some home truths for them. They live in an ivory tower in California still thinking they are oh so relevant but Aussies are a tough crowd. Those favouring getting rid of Charles will probably stay home from any events but those who support the UK monarchy support Charles as monarch not the wayward son and his wife. The press coverage could be brief and not entirely supportive - a huge contrast to last time they were there.

Plus if Australians want royals they now have the Danish Queen Mary who grew up in Tasmania and lived in Sydney before moving to Denmark. She returns most years for private visits but gets papped a little. But she is very low key on those visits and they are not announced in advance unlike this visit by H and M who seem desperate to be seen as important.

CypressGrove · 08/03/2026 11:18

I doubt many Australians will pay any attention - unless it turns out we are footing the bill for any of their trip - then we will be pissed off. Charles visited a couple of years ago and I didn't even know until he'd been here a couple of days and something came up in the papers about some event. So I started asking around at work and with some friends and nobody else had noticed either.

bluegreygreen · 08/03/2026 11:19

Yes, the 'news.com.au' piece is generally positive, but it is an exclusive so it would be.
I did some reading around last night as I thought I remembered some of the comments following their last tour - news.com.au was not always so positive, so it will be interesting to see how this visit is reported.

OneBoldTaupePeer · 08/03/2026 11:20

Gosh how exciting.

Yes I thought this too, and also the Aussie news channels slate them regularly, I’d like to hope H&M gat a very hard time from the Australians .. we can but hope

jeffgoldblum · 08/03/2026 00:15

The date is surprisingly similar to the kings proposed visit to the US , I assume that’s a coincidence.

I doubt it jeff Confused

Frankly I thought the Australians had more sense ...

Pleasealexa · 08/03/2026 11:41

Well Harry is born a Prince how do you suppose that should be taken away?

Harry is in the same position as Andrew, in terms of line of succession. He is no longer the Spare due to PW's children. No need to titles for non working Royals and I think that time will come quite soon, escalated and aided by the Andrew situation.

They will be Mr & Mrs Windsor - taking a holiday to Australia - living off income from a small Inst account and Harry's inheritance. They don't have star power anymore and I think this will get even more pronounced as they head towards their 50s.

chickenpotnoodle · 08/03/2026 11:44

Huge egos - and don't 'read the room' or care what people think about them.
Wonder if the children will come, and start to prepare for some sort of integration into the royal family ?

Treylime · 08/03/2026 11:46

Who is paying for this? Not them I would guess

PotolKimchi · 08/03/2026 11:52

I am struggling to think of any other celebrity who announces a ‘tour‘ unless they are selling tickets for a show.

It’s a business trip. Why does it require advance press coverage and PR?!

zurigo · 08/03/2026 11:55

Pathetic attention seekers, the pair of them. And totally lacking in imagination. PH who left the RF so he could live an independent life, away from press scrutiny, and what does he choose to do with that independent life? Traipse around behind his narcissist wife on pseudo royal tours.

Choux · 08/03/2026 11:58

There will be no integration of Archie and Lilibet. I think the issues with Andrew (still legally a prince) and having a prince and princess growing up in California will be issues William will take action to address when king. Denmark removed prince / princess titles from the then Queen’s grandchildren who were not children of her heir. And in Sweden the grandchildren of the king who were not children of the heir had their HRH removed.

I think William will go through the necessary channels to make prince / princess only for children of a monarch and not be given to grandchildren of a monarch. It means Charlotte and Louis’ children won’t be Prince / Princess but it increases the chance George will actually become monarch and that the monarchy will be less mired in reputation / grifting issues.

This is my impression of the Australians. Many of them are republican and I can't imagine they will be kind to fake play at it royal wannabees.

bluegreygreen · 08/03/2026 12:30

@Choux Andrew is no longer a prince, from the date of Charles' Letters Patent.

He does retain his Dukedom, as removal of that requires an act of parliament, but was removed from the Roll of the Peerage, so cannot be addressed as Duke.

Tbh I’m happy to hear they are going anywhere as long as it isn’t the UK.

This sounds like something a child having a tantrum would say.

The ridiculousness of the posts on these threads is something to behold

AreYouSureAskedNaomi · 08/03/2026 06:37

Booing for what exactly? With the world as it is... the revelations on the Epstein files, the royal family sleaze, war raging in the middle East... do you think people keep a little bit of hatred in their hearts for H&M?

And if H&M are so irrelevant do you think all those indignant people will care enough to find out about the tour venues, travel and turn up in time just to boo?

There’s a lot of hate from people I assume are grown women on Mumsnet. Nothing gets in the way of their H&M hatred. Someone wanted them stuck in a war zone last week to teach them a lesson.

kirinm · 08/03/2026 12:44

Peony1985 · 08/03/2026 07:16

The thread is a discussion about an upcoming publicity tour. H&M want people to discuss them…that’s the literal point of publicity!

Nobody is discussing it. They’re slagging them off. As usual. Pretending it’s a discussion when the posts are no more than childishly wanted they to have a hard time when in Australia isn’t a discussion. It’s just pathetic.
