Prince Harry and Meghan’s huge Aussie plans revealed. Visit to Sydney and Melbourne in Mid-April.

EXCLUSIVE

More than seven years after then-newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan embarked on their hugely successful Aussie tour, the couple is reportedly heading back Down Under.

A source confirmed exclusively to news.com.au that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to visit Sydney and Melbourne in mid-April.

While their last trip to our shores was in an official capacity as working members of the royal family, this time around they’re travelling as private citizens – and it’s understood they’ll be focusing on activities related to their businesses and philanthropic work.

Details of their specific plans remain unclear, but it’s been rumoured that Meghan will appear as a guest on the Her Best Life podcast, which was initially launched and co-hosted by Jackie “O” Henderson and Gemma O’Neill through their “Besties” company. Earlier this year, just a couple of weeks before her high-profile and abrupt recent exit from her KIIS breakfast show, Henderson revealed that she had decided to “step away” from the venture.

It’s rumoured that Meghan will also appear as a special guest at an upcoming “Besties” event, following in the footsteps of previous VIP speaker Gwyneth Paltrow.

The actress took part in a wide-ranging Q&A with Henderson back in 2023 which attracted around 3,000 ticketholders to the ICC in Sydney’s Darling Harbour – so Meghan’s appearance could be in a similar capacity.
Despite Henderson’s recent departure from the Besties company, she hinted last month that she may return in some capacity in the future - and perhaps Meghan’s involvement could be one such occasion.

Gwyneth Paltrow was the special guest at a Besties event, run by Henderson (left) and Gemma O'Neill, back in 2023 – and Meghan is now rumoured to follow in her footsteps. Picture: Supplied
While details of the couple’s itinerary are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks, it’s likely that Harry’s plans will involve Australia’s armed forces or veterans’ community, given his strong connections to both.

It’s understood he also has a number of friends locally, fostered across multiple previous visits, including during his month-long stay with the ADF at an army barracks in Darwin back in 2015.
And in his 2023 memoir, Harry gushed over his time living in Australia as a 19-year-old in 2003.
He wrote in Spare that working as a jackaroo on a farm in rural Queensland had helped him find inner peace during what were “some of the best” weeks of his life.

It’s not yet known whether the Sussexes’ children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, will join them on the trip next month or stay back at the family’s home in Montecito, California.

News.com.au understands that the royal couple’s Aussie visit has been in the works for almost a year.

Their “currency’ has been decreasing from the moment they left the RF. Which, if they were sensible, they should have recognised and adjusted their lifestyle to ensure it was sustainable based on assets they had or acquired within the first five years.

ex-Politicians make fortunes this way long after they left government. If you were involved in some kind of scandal then all the better (with a few exceptions).

But they have already made their fortunes doing this and either spaffed the proceeds and/or used up the anecdotes - so need some more. Would be a very foolish KC3 to trust this vexatious, malicious and volatile couple - it’s not even a year since he was ranting on a BBC special about ‘establishment stitch-ups’ or leaking his take on the tone of his brief one to one with KC3. He’s a loose cannon.

I expect he is being pushed to do this by MM for $$$$ reasons and once she realises that potential rich seam of revenue stream has run dry - she will enact phase 3 and discard him and make her own fortune with a divorce book. It’s all getting very fractious - if they haven’t an invite now in April for a summer visit to coincide with IG one year out celebrations in July - it ain’t happening. I would imagine KC3 programme is pretty nailed down 3 months in advance.

Equally it seems that PH is unable to commit to a private relationship with KC3 - his agenda is to publicise it and monetise from the get go. IIRC one of the first callings out after they left was that PH shared the details of a private family phone call between KC3 and A&L. He knows well what’s private and what’s public - but he exploited the precious interaction between grandfather and grandchildren / his own DC to make $$$s.

I honestly think that H was genuinely shocked that he was cut off from the RF not just financially but no longer invited to events .
They probably assumed they could fly back and forward picking up gossip and regurgitating it .

Being paid speakers is the obvious thing for them - I assumed they were already being paid to turn up places, including by charities.

Harry and Meghan did do some paid speaking events when they first left the RF - I remember them doing one in Florida at a JP Morgan event where it was rumoured that they were paid between $500,000 and $1 million.

IIRC the feedback was not very good. They were meant to be the keynote speakers at JP Morgan's Alternative Investment Summit but they were neither interesting, insightful or entertaining - nor did they talk on topic. Harry just talked about himself, his mental health, Diana and wanting to leave the RF whereas Meghan talked about her love for Harry. It seemed that they just couldn't really read the room.

Now they have trashed their brand - I'm not sure they can get these sort of really highly paid speaking events these days. A few months ago Harry was speaking at an Estate Agent Conference,

Speak about what ? Any RF anecdotes have probably been told and any others will be at least 6 years old! One of the unforeseen consequences of H and M flouncing off was that there stream of Royal gossip dried up .

I always said that. They were so shortsighted. Their ONLY USP was that they were Royals. Once they exhausted the gossip and insinuations they were done and dusted. I suspect they were possibly really SHOCKED that they have been so comprehensively grey-rocked by the RF. I think they thought they could continue on selling stories forever because they did not understand that the Royals would cold shoulder them so completely. This is why I suspect H was so furious when M was not permitted to go to the Balmoral when the Queen was dying. Because the Royals realised that would be milked for another talk show appearance and he was too goddamned thick to realise it.

And that’s why all of a sudden they are desperate for an invitation from King Charles for a holiday at Sandringham, they are so utterly transparent.

It just looks like a bog standard conference room / function room off the lobby of a bog standard chain hotel.

Buffet-style serve-yourself meals, with an airline-type choice of chicken, fish or ‘the house salad’ for dinner.

Feedback on the microphones. Someone’s lost the password for the PowerPoint images.

One table’s seated too close to the toilet doors that keep clunking in between the flushing noises.

And there’s a smell of burning from the kitchen that you hope is toast or fish and not the recently fitted electrical circuitry that tracks up to the lights in the bedroom you’re sharing with a complete stranger.

#LivingTheDream

Wow. I feel like I’m right there with the other 300dollar paying guests!

Ex politicians have genuine experience to share and tend to be excellent public speakers - insightful, engaging and entertaining, hence having been voted into public office in the first place.
Harry wasn't voted in, he just happened to be born in, and unfortunately doesn't naturally have the attributes to give a decent after dinner speech. His experience was unique, but it was all managed for him and he doesn't seem to have learned anything from it worth sharing.
An after dinner speech from one of his grey suits would be fascinating however!

Sadly, yes his lack of talent is an issue in this as much else. But even as a boring speaker talking about himself (which is probably better than him talking about anything else) he would still command a decent price at the moment, if only because people will be curious about him. After dinner speaker when your guests who have already be plied with alcohol, is rather different to being a keynote speaker at an investment summit. That was just daft!

elessar · 29/03/2026 20:17

@Dunglowing it’s a very good point about Harry being unable and unwilling to commit to a private relationship, and I suspect that’s the very thing getting in the way.

Harry could fly to and from the states 20 times a year, with Meghan and the kids if he chose, to visit his family, and if he didn’t publicise it, odds are nobody would have a single clue. He would also then be perfectly safe from a security perspective.

and if he wanted that kind of relationship, then I bet Charles at least would be willing to give him a chance of reconciliation. And it would be a pathway to rebuilding trust.

but he doesn’t want that kind of relationship because that doesn’t serve his public image - and that’s exactly the reason the RF are basically stonewalling him, because they know none of it is genuine and it’s all just a way for Harry to maintain his profile.

Given his penchant for using private jets, he would need to up his income or downgrade to first class.

Spot on ! Remember Meghan flew into LHR ahead of the trip to Nigeria and no one knew about that until Hallo magazine announced it.

Politicians tend to be good public speakers though, which is not the case with H & M. A speech by a former PM or high level person in government is generally very interesting and engaging, whether it's Tony Blair, Michael Gove, Ed Balls, Boris Johnson or whoever. I would pay for a ticket to an event that had them as an after dinner speaker, but H or M? No thanks!

Right now they are multi-millionaires and don't have to worry about money. No one knows exactly how much they have, but it's definitely 10s of millions. Right now they have no money worries and these faux royal tours they go on aren't paid for by them, they're paid for by their hosts, whether that's the government (e.g. Nigeria, Colombia) or the individual (Narciso Rodriguez in the case of Meghan's little jaunt to Paris) or the charity they're getting publicity for (Invictus, etc). They aren't dipping into their own pockets and the idea that they are is laughable.

zurigo · 30/03/2026 08:52

if they haven’t an invite now in April for a summer visit

I was a bit confused by the claims in the media this weekend about Harry wanting an invitation to Sandringham this summer, when even the most casual observer knows that the King doesn't spend the summer at Sandringham - he spends it at Balmoral. He spends Christmas and New Year at Sandringham. So a bullshit story? Also, imagine the material that H&M would be able to gather from a personal invitation to a royal residence for several days. William and the King's advisors are never going to let him extend such an invitation to a couple that have shown that they will weaponise and monetise even the smallest interaction with members of the RF, so the King would be crazy to allow them to have access to any royal property.

Being a multimillionaire doesn’t mean you don’t need to worry about money. They are, by report, spending a couple of million every year on security. Spending at that level eats through tens of millions; by the time they hit retirement age that amounts to £40 million on security alone. A few private jet trips between their home and London would quite quickly eat up another million. Lawyers fees for his court cases costs a few more. And that is before you start to consider general living costs at the high end; clothing, jewellery, furnishing and decorating their house and keeping it on trend, private holidays, non-security staff costs, children’s school fees, PR costs…

Of course these trips are paid for, but they need to do more than that - they need to earn them millions if they are to keep up their lifestyle. And the amount they will be able to earn is only going to decrease as their relevance wanes. Living on a couple of million a year is hardly a hardship but that is not what they are doing.

Agree - any chance they want to parachute into Sandringham specifically to absorb the goss on AMW - that could be their next scoop.

Thedom · 30/03/2026 09:25

its now been revealed that George Soros’ foundation was behind the Colombia trip, they are the ones who covered the multimillion costs. I can see why they wanted to keep that a secret, his foundation is a target of Trumps administration and has long been accused of anti semitism.

Neither Harry nor Meghan have any semblance of a backbone.

Dunglowing · 30/03/2026 09:31

I would say that her antics have made me chuckle every single day - no one knows what shenanigans will be revealed from one day to the next and she keeps coming up with and out with initiatives which are are always delight to follow their familiar trajectory. She’s the gift that keeps on giving. Don’t change Megsy - we need our daily dose or entertainment and hilarity.

zurigo · 30/03/2026 10:36

@Chainlinkferry yes, I agree, but no one knows how much they have or how well they have it invested. If they are savvy investors (ha ha!) they should be able to live off the income from their multi-millions without touching the capital, even if they're spending a few million per year. The issue, I think, is that that's not enough for Meghan. What they've achieved so far isn't an unusual level of wealth in the kind of circles she has ambition to move in - in fact it's decidedly modest. She describes herself as a 'global thought leader' FFS! She has an ego and an ambition as big as the sun and a few tens of millions in the bank doesn't touch the sides of that. She wants to be a billionaire and in particular, I reckon she wants to stick it to William and Kate and be richer than them (value of the Duchy of Cornwall est. £1 billion, providing W&K with an annual income of approx. £24 million).

Meghan left the RF because it wasn't providing the kind of lifestyle she thought it would. She thought that being married to the son of the future king would provide her with access to unlimited money, and the kind of power and adoration that her narcissism requires. But, in reality, she got none of those things. She and Harry were given a 5-bedroom house in the middle of a park as a wedding present and kept on a fairly tight financial leash. Not only that, but they were several rungs down the royal pecking order, she was constantly reprimanded for her rude and entitled treatment of staff, and the press went after her for her profligate spending. Their exit from the RF was giant 'fuck you' to all of them and their relocation to CA was meant to be the glorious start of a huge empire of wealth and power that they would accrue without the RF dragging them down. She didn't go into the jam business because she loves jam - she went into it because she wanted to create a business empire like Gwyneth (net worth est. $200-250 million) or Martha Stewart (est wealth hundreds of millions).

Chainlinkferry · 30/03/2026 12:20

I suspect those who have made substantial amounts from business, like Martha Stewart, keep a very close eye on their finances. Didn’t Martha Stewart’s interest extend to insider trading though?

Yep she did five months in prison for dodgy share selling.
