Beatrice and Eugenie banned from Ascot

Beatrice and Eugenie have been banned from the royal box at Ascot and from royal events in the foreseeable future. That's according to a headline in the Daily Mail. A little part of me feels a bit sorry for them as they're not their parents. I don't like them much but they do seem to symbolise all that's wrong with the royals. Money and immense wealth and priviledge for very little return.

William and Kate also went on a luxury yacht holiday last summer paid for by middle Eastern royalty but again no questions asked about that.

Wasn't that the holiday the DM sent reporters out to the Greek island to try to prove, but weren't actually able to?

The Greek press reported on it. It wasn't a holiday the DM couldn't report on so it didn't happen.

I will say William was very clever sneaking out to the luxury yacht, he nearly got away with it!

I have seen it mentioned a few times and given how litigious William is, I assumed it must be true for him not to have got it removed

But if this is wrong, I will happily take it back

Was it the holiday where it eventually transpired the yacht was Lady Beatrice owned by Peter Dubens?

I suspect so - I didn't follow it very closely.

To my knowledge, the cases William has brought have been clear breaches of privacy
-News of the World hacking (kicked off the whole Leveson saga; received a settlement in 2020 which was kept private until revealed in court by his brother)
-Paparazzi photos of his wife sunbathing topless (2012) - pursued in French court and won (2017)
-Paparazzi photos of his children on holiday - pursued in French court and won (2025)
I don't think he bothers about basic tabloid headlines.

Not sure if they've actually been 'banned' The Daily Mail could well be talking things up, they have form for that.

However if I were them I might be keeping my head down and reading the room. Perhaps not putting myself out on display at such ostentatious events.

Do I lke them/dislike them? Never met them so can't really comment. We are unlikely to move in the same circles. The portrayal they get (which may be inaccurate) does symbolise the negatives around the royal Family.

I are not on the civil list and so do not cost you and me money directly.

Should they be held responsible for visiting Epstein? True, they were adults but may have been talked into it/pressurised by their Mum?

They may have been swept into it, innocently, along with the guilty. He was a charming groomer until you fell foul of him - as their Mum found out.

changeme4this · 02/03/2026 18:07

I think there’s more to their involvement with Epstein & co that’s not yet been made public, and it’s probably better for KC to manage it proactively then later reactively.

LadyRoughDiamond · 02/03/2026 18:12

I suspect that, as part of the investigation into their father’s business affairs, someone is following the money and has uncovered a few unsavoury things about how the princesses’ lifestyles have been funded over the last few years. There comes a point where, as a grown adult, you can no longer say you didn’t know what was happening.

MyDeftDuck · 02/03/2026 18:24

Oh dear…….well, I’m sure there’ll be something else they can amuse themselves with instead to salve their immense disappointment.

NetZeroZealot · 02/03/2026 18:40

They’ll fit in fine in the Silver Ring.

pair of grifters which is learned behaviour from their parents / wider family

There needs to be a fair old shake up within the royal family

As a pair of grifters, they blended in well with the rest of the Royal Enclosure at Ascot.

DreamTheMoors · 02/03/2026 18:48

Eugenie’s and Beatrice’s biggest, most horrible sin was to be born to Sarah and Andrew.

I do pity them. It’s probably very difficult to live your life one way for 30-plus years and then have to make a course correction.

You love your parents but hate what they did.
And you hate that they dragged you into it.

I do feel bad for the daughters.
They deserve better parents.

Robogob · 02/03/2026 18:48

The time for them has passed. They mean nothing to anyone. They just need to get on with their lives in a private manner, much like the rest of us. The world has changed.

I agree that William is likely a brutal person - we are constantly told how he’s in a violent rage.

But he did not do a thing about Andrew . He actively participated in the attempted rehabilitation of Andrew’s image -photographed driving him around - particularly to church - that cynical
old pr trick .
Leaks let it be known William and Kate would prefer Andrew as a neighbour to Harry . And it’s all ‘leaks’ isn’t it
Now the leaks are desperately trying to distance William from it all

William is often in a violent rage? Is that true?

(I'm not somebody who usually pays much attention to RF)

Lol, what a take. Meghan will be proud of you.

I haven’t read that yet but I do wonder re Ascot if something is going to come out about their finances soon. Beatrice in particular seems to have spent most of her adult life on holiday.

This is what I think, that there is more "unpleasantness" (as they no doubt view it) to be revealed. Apparently the updated edition of "Entitled" is going to include more details about B and E, whom Andrew Lownie has described as shady.

Honestly I don't think William comes off well out of this at all. He consistently shows himself to be someone who only cares about something once the press do

No issue driving Andrew to church or being photographed with him at family events, until the press revealed stuff he either already knew or should have done

Charles and Diana holidayed in Mallorca paid for by the Spanish royals. No questions were asked about that either.

tara66 · 02/03/2026 19:10

Why did Beatrice and Eugene wear those dreadful hats to William and Kate's wedding? Was it attention seeking? Pictures of them plus hats come up all the time!

Saz12 · 02/03/2026 19:10

If I was being nice, I'd think it's not unreasonable to refuse your Uncle's offer to find someone to go through your investments & finances.

As adults, you’re now responsible for your own behaviour, regardless of your parents. They are apparently as entitled as their parents. Beatrice was also dating a criminal until the late Queen told her to end it.

Agree with this.

Me too.
Too many grifters in that family.
The royal family leave a very odd taste in my mouth now.
They knew well what Andrew was up to.
The Queen was warned but had no interest in hearing it.
She was happy to pay millions to shut it down.
A completely amoral group of leeches.

They look like extras from the mad hatters party.
Makes me laugh everytime I see them.
Their stylists were having some laugh with them.

Amigagatuna · 02/03/2026 19:24

All this bowing and parading..nauseating.

FairKoala · 02/03/2026 19:26

Viviennemary · 01/03/2026 10:06

Their life as I see it has been one of luxury, partying , expensive clothes and holidays. All the trappings of wealth. Financed it would now seem by the ill-gotten gains of their parents.

I never put Andrew or Sarah as people who had enough supposedly ill gotten gains to have any over for their children

Thought it would be the queen who probably had a trust fund set up for them.

I would put them at averagely wealthy. There are people who have far wealthier lifestyles paid for by their parents who have a far dodgier past than Andrew and Sarah

Pedallleur · 02/03/2026 19:31

They can go as regular punters or as a guest of someone eg an owner or a Company (no doubt they will if it's free). The optics of mixing with the King and other members of the family will not be good.
