I think every single outfit is a fail in this one save the powder blue (who is the lady actually wearing the powder blue? Not Amanda Kelly?) the cut of the style Beatrice is wearing is too aging and dowdy. Kate's asymmetric frill draws too much attention to her top half leaving an unbalanced impression - if she had hips it would be more balanced, but she doesn't as such - and Eugenie has a great bust, but a high round neck does her no favours, plus the pattern on the cuffs combined with the skirt hem and high neck shortens her arms and torso.
I have seen Kate in real life, but this was some time before her recent illness and she looked good, people in the crowd commented on how pretty she was. Yes the blusher was quite standout, I do agree with that impression, but the rest of her makeup harmonised really well.
That said - and it's my personal opinion - I have always thought she looked better before she became officially engaged to William, when she carried a bit more weight and had a fuller figure and face. She looked about a size 12, and it really suited her (think back to her runway student fashion walk at uni) my personal opinion is she seemed to become determined to be ultra slim since then, probably influenced by fear of ever receiving any unflattering images and commentary in the media, (which, who wouldn't be, seeing how terribly Fergie was treated by the press about her weight) and by the time of the wedding her dress didn't quite hit the mark anymore around the bosom - my speculation is she had lost a lot of weight between the engagement and the wedding itself, so the bust was no longer as full and it looked too pinched (cannot think of a better word) around the bust, as if it had been altered quite close to the day. Nothing unusual for brides to lose weight before a wedding, but she carried on in the same vein. Which is all well and good and it's her life, but as one gets older, being very thin can sometimes - not always - have a tendancy to make you look older than you are, a bit haggard and a bit frail. It's good for older women to have a little bit more weight, although this does not apply to now where she is clearly still recovering from significant health challenges.
