Beatrice and Eugenie banned from Ascot

Beatrice and Eugenie have been banned from the royal box at Ascot and from royal events in the foreseeable future. That's according to a headline in the Daily Mail. A little part of me feels a bit sorry for them as they're not their parents. I don't like them much but they do seem to symbolise all that's wrong with the royals. Money and immense wealth and priviledge for very little return.

I dislike the royals, desire a republic, and suspect that the York sisters have questions to answer about their finances, but I think that the article from Platell about Beatrice is downright spiteful. I am not a fan of this kind of personal attack.

B was with Dave Clark for 10 years but - allegedly- he was dragging his heels about getting married so they parted company only for him to get engaged and married in less than 2 years . That must have hurt . And then her younger sister got married .
I am not suggesting she was desperate but her biological clock was ticking .
As an aside , W and C didn’t like Dave Clark and he wasn’t invited to their wedding .

That often happens when people with Mr/Ms Right Now. They think they don't want to commit, and it turns out they were just with the wrong person.

And yes, I thought E getting married must have left her wondering if she was going to remain on the shelf.

Nadine Dorries makes Beatrice sound like a nice person..

I think Edo will stick around as long as there is money.... If she has a generous trust fund from the queen he'll stay. Any financial stress and he'll be off. Just my prediction.

Edo is a pretty boy and he knows it!

I think she's got it right about her being nice but naive.

It makes one wonder how much Bea and Eugenie are covering up financially not just for themselves but for others.

If there’s nothing to see, open the books. Somebody must do their accounts annually.

I think they’ll rue the day that they rejected the opportunity to be transparent - they could easily have pleaded naivety and the misfeasance of their parents, done some proper charity work, and said sorry.

I think they couldn’t be transparent because they have all sorts of dodgy money turning up in their personal bank accounts. And they are just like you and me in that no one does their accounts each year as they don’t run a company. There are stories of Andrew being upset someone - Rowland?- told Andrew’s exec assistant about some monies hitting his accounts. He wanted financial privacy with not even his office staff aware of his finances.

I suspect like most young adults in education with parents with access to money the princesses continued to have holidays and expenses paid for by their parents. Only in this case it turned out the flight costs were sometimes paid for by Epstein who they met in NY. Did they take mummy’s word for it that he had been wrongly convicted or given too severe a sentence or did they know it was true but decide to go along with meeting him for an afternoon because they were getting a trip to NYC?

Bea had a year where she had about 15 holidays. Did she just assume her parents had unlimited funds? Maybe but docs have been uncovered that they were set to get £50k each from Rowland in 2011 - they were 22 and 20 at the time. Then their dad apparently got £750k for Eugneie’s wedding - it’s likely she knew about that and had to play nicely with the people funding it who were probably guests of honour. Over time they have let their father set them up to have their lifestyles paid for by whoever was willing to fund it no questions asked.

I feel for them a little as would any 22 year old feel comfortable going to granny to say their dad is encouraging them to take money from his friends and what should they do. That would have opened a can of worms (that ended up getting opened anyway.) But when they started to realise dodgy people were funding them either directly or via their parents they turned a blind eye and went along with it. And who knows when it stopped. Or indeed if it has stopped.

I feel sorry for 18-year-old Beatrice whose father invited Weinstein, Epstein and Maxwell to her birthday party.

She was 28 then.

How long can you plead ignorance?

Wonder if Jack knew?

Choux · 24/03/2026 16:51

Jack has built his career on promoting products and homes to his wealthy friends. He dropped out of university and was then the manager of Mahiki nightclub where the royals hung out. He then started working as ’brand ambassador’ for Casamigos tequila which was owned by George Clooney and Rande Gerber (Cindy Crawford’s husband). The third investor was Michael Meldman a billionaire property developer who creates ultra high end developments where the rich and famous live. Jack now works for his property company doing sales and promotion and he and Eugenie live in the development in Portugal which pre the Epstein scandal was probably a coup to have royalty living there. Here’s the kind of place he is promoting. It sounds like Jack has been taken completely under this guy’s wing and billionaires have deep pockets to pay wages to the husband of a princess who lives in his property development.

Weren’t H and M supposed to be buying a property there ?

BillericayDickie · 24/03/2026 17:08

I hope it’s not true that these marriages are in trouble.
i do get confused by who is who, but didn’t the one who is dad to wolf, cheat on his wife with one of them?

Yes that was awful, three of the worst people ever ....a rapist and sex abuser, a procurer of girls as young as 14 for an abuser and rapist, and a man who was responsible for the biggest sex trafficking ring in history.
Nice company AMW kept

stillavid · 24/03/2026 17:27

I think with regards to Beatrice's holidays that she was probably being provided accommodation etc by her hosts so probably just paying for flights and a thank you gift.

But I would bet anything that her and her sister have received a lot of dubious money over the years.

I don't think either of their husbands are that wealthy and I struggle to see how Beatrice is some tech guru based on her education and career so far. Presumably there are some large trusts from the late Queen but their lifestyles are not cheap.

But her own DF was an abuser and serial rapist of vulnerable trafficked teenagers!

Can you imagine being a parent of one of her friends and finding out your teenage daughter was mingling with that crowd.

But not convicted unlike JE!

He just paid off a victim. Good job his family had deep pockets....

TheAutumnCrow · 24/03/2026 19:06

Beatrice is the founder and only named director of her own company, BY-EQ (she calls herself a private equity analyst) so must have an accountant. She certainly has to submit tax returns, for this UK-registered company and her income from Trust fund(s).

She isn't naive, but she could have played that game if she'd wanted to, melding her tears with claims of naivety and misplaced trust in her parents. If she'd done this, and agreed to a private ethics check with a couple of minor leaks to satisfy to media, then she might have got away with whatever financial improprieties emerged. But that's only if she'd also done the doting mummy PR and done something actually useful and charitable like dedicate herself to community foodbanks and litter picks for the next couple of years. Surely to god she knows how to hire PR and work with William?

The fact that she hasn't done this, and has been asked to stay away from Royal Ascot and the inner family, suggests that there is much more going on with her business dealings and it's a lot worse than some dodgy finances and ill-advised gifts. That and the weird parental enmeshment.

That photo of the three of them all tricked out for the celebrations is truly horrible. It must be awful for Beatice to look back and realise that two of them are in jail for sex crimes and the other pervert who despite being dead is causing such chaos in her life.

The whole thing seems quite strange.

Even without the trio's revolting history it makes you wonder who the party was for!

It was probably just another bit of made up gossip. There’s so much of it that it’s hard to tell what is true and what is not.

Basically a glorified estate agent then and more than likely on commission rather than fixed wages month in month out.

If you go to the Discovery Land website there's a promotional picture depicting a spa bed situated in what's best described as scrub. Beyond that there's a mile of coastline and a 720 acre site touted which might place some purchasers beyond easy reach of the most desirable facilities. And Portugal is windy.

It seems unlikely to be an easy sell.

Portugal is offering tax advantages though, isn't it? It's fit to bust with rich, democrat Americans now.

Agree. And the other serial rapist of a trafficked teenager is shuffling around Sandringham…..

I’ve always though Edo was a bit of a cad, I remember posting similar at the time, Jack appeared more genuine, I enjoyed watching their wedding he seemed so nervous and Eugenie looked incredibly happy, it’s a shame if he turns out to be a fair weather husband as Edo seems to be.

Yes, I agree with both. At his wedding, when he and Eugenie exited the church, Jack looked really taken aback with the people outside. I thought they were a real love match.

BoxingHare · 25/03/2026 07:04

diddl · 24/03/2026 12:22

I just found it all a bit hasty.

It was almost two years when they married.

I don't think that that is particularly hasty given their ages & that they already knew each other

Whilst I agree, it felt hasty.

I think B wanted children, hence the let's get on with it small covid marriage.

BoxingHare · 25/03/2026 07:20

Somohow I'm unsurprised that they'd do this. They seem like this type of people.
