Beatrice and Eugenie banned from Ascot

Beatrice and Eugenie have been banned from the royal box at Ascot and from royal events in the foreseeable future. That's according to a headline in the Daily Mail. A little part of me feels a bit sorry for them as they're not their parents. I don't like them much but they do seem to symbolise all that's wrong with the royals. Money and immense wealth and priviledge for very little return.

If that’s true I do have some sympathy for her .

Yes.

The DM probably are trying to make a connection that isn't there.

If he's trying to set up new business contacts should he have cancelled it all & stayed with B?

Idk, not many would be able to!

CathyorClaire · 22/03/2026 10:56

I think on balance this has the ring of truth about it.

EMM lost a lucrative contract in Australia when the company behind the project went tits up and yet another of those cosy family contracts when MW was kicked out of RL and he wasn't able to titify it as apparently was the plan so it makes sense for him to be drumming up new business as hard as he can.

I think he's pretty hard-nosed. It was good for business to be seen strutting alongside the RF on their pap walks in fake gongs until all of a sudden FIL's rumbling problems became a storm and it maybe wasn't.

Quite likely too and understandable if his family want him distancing himself from the mess although what they think of him embroiling himself in it in the first place would be interesting to know.

If it is true it's a shame for the very small children involved.

Mylovelygreendress · 22/03/2026 11:29

When I first read rumours on X I thought they were about Jack .

KatherineParr · 22/03/2026 11:35

The Andrew scandal was very public at the time Edo and Beatrice got married. They didn't even include Andrew in their official photographs. So I think it's a bit daft if he's now complaining about it. It was obvious that more evidence could always come to light. Having said that, it would be very sensible to cut ties with Andrew and Sarah and Beatrice should support that. I wouldn't want my children around them.

Me also. I hate how the DM uses 'sources'... a source said this, a source said that, it is probably (hopefully) absolute bunkum. He is away on a work trip so that means their marriage is in trouble, a story to be made up there by the DM.

IF it is true, it doesn't show him in a good light, it's not as if his in laws weren't splashed all over the papers before he married B.

Gosh no how awful that someone would hook up with someone because of a Royal connection in the hope that it brings something to their life.

bluegreygreen · 22/03/2026 12:59

I hope for their sake and their children's sake it's not true, and is just gossip from the 'sources'.

The real nugget in that lengthy article is buried about two-thirds in:

While it was widely reported at the time that he had inherited family money due to his links with Italian nobility – he is, technically, a ‘count’ – Edo was not independently wealthy at the time, and has had to work hard to get ahead.
**
He had encouragement from Beatrice’s father, who allowed him to redesign a wing of Royal Lodge, his home for two decades until he was evicted last month to a property on the Sandringham Estate. Andrew also allowed Beatrice and Edo to use the wing as their own family quarters before they bought a £3.5 million Cotswolds country house in 2021.

I think that these arrangements ^^ represent some of the accounts that need an audit and ethics check. Who paid Edo? How much?

Is this a way of insinuating that the taxpayer subbed Edo & Bea’s £3.5m Cotswolds house after Edo ‘re-designed’ some rooms in Royal Lodge on the back of an envelope?

Was this a shady grift? It’s clear the Mail knows more and is now pushing at it.

TheAutumnCrow · 22/03/2026 14:47

Oh and there’s obviously a big old hint in the same article about Edo playing away but that’s not necessarily the public’s business unless it involves the public purse being used to facilitate said activity.

The intra-family payments around properties are the public’s business, though, where one at least is Crown Estate.

I have none.
He had a fiancée and a child when they got together.
IIRC the fiancée’s mother spoke out at the time to some newspaper, probably the DM about the surprise shock of Edo and her daughter splitting up.

More money laundering?

Hmm I did read a quote saying how you get the man is how you lose the man.
Rumour sites on X are hinting he’s got another ( younger) woman pregnant.

This is what I was getting at when I mentioned these cosy family contracts that seem to crop up too often for comfort.

Peter Phillips and the uncontested tender for the Patron's Lunch

Camilla's sister gussying up DoC properties for years.

Now the rather too pleased with himself Edo awarded not one but two nice little doer-upper gigs.

How many more of these family grifts are out there?

I agree entirely there needs to be an ethics check but I'd broaden the scope beyond the Yorks.

I read that story about Fergie and the plans to clone the corgis very late last night after getting in from an evening out that included a few drinks. When I woke up this morning I honestly thought I had imagined it in my slightly drunken state. Vowing to take it steady next time I go out I scrolled down on my phone only to find it was a real news item!

The tabloids have a habit of printing heavy hints when they know something but can't print it catagorically. They do the same when there are injunctions.

😂😂 the story has that nightmarish quality about it.

It’s got to be made up story surely? And Sarah F is hardly in any position to object to
it.

If Beatrice and Eugenie are proven to be cut off from the Royal Family circle for sure, the tabloids will go all out on stories about them. For as long as people want to read about them. It won’t have to be true. Tabloid readers find ‘sources’ convincing.

NeelyOHara · 23/03/2026 06:02

All papers use ‘sources’, and have done since the beginning of the press? It’s hardly something the daily Mail have invented. They can hardly name the person that told them can they. Sure, they might make up a source if they’ve simply heard the rumour from another journalist, but often papers do have informants, usually disgruntled staff or ‘frenemy’ acquaintances.

StillSpartacus · 23/03/2026 09:28

More on the madness here. It seems it was an idea, at least in Fergie’s mind. Also hints at EMM spending time away. I don’t think that would have been printed if the Times didn’t think they were on firm ground. Whatever else, I do feel sorry for Bea and her children if her marriage has gone wrong and she isn’t able to get the support she needs from Mum and Dad.

Was Fergie really going to clone the late Queen’s corgis — for cash?

A leaked synopsis for a reality TV show suggests as much. It makes the mind boggle

Nothing about Ferguson would surprise me.

I hope that Mapelli-whatever won’t end things acrimoniously with Beatrice - for the sake of the childrem.

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 23/03/2026 10:25

I had a post from Hello Magazine pop up on my IG page yesterday saying the same thing. AFAIK they have always been hugely pro royal so I don't think they'd have posted without some kind of inside knowledge either.

As for Fergie, I'm genuinely surprised that anyone is surprised by the depths she'd plunder for money. Given half a chance she'd no doubt try to clone the late Queen for a few quid.

TheAutumnCrow · 23/03/2026 11:01

Andrew bought the corgis for the Queen, after she apparently said she wouldn’t have any more because she’d not be around long enough to look after them.

Andrew said to her that he would take them on himself should they outlive her. Which obviously they were going to, what with her being 95 years old at the time with health issues, and the young corgis having a lifespan of 12-15 years.

So Andrew (and Sarah) basically bought themselves a pair of corgis knowing that they would be called ‘the late Queen’s beloved corgis’ and that they’d get kudos for taking them in after her death.

Very crafty move.

So I wouldn’t put anything past either of them.

Lifeomars · 23/03/2026 12:20

I am sure there was a story (before all Fergie's grim connections with Epstein came out) that she was saying the late Queen's corgis were a conduit for her Maj to send messages from the great beyond! She was also apparently flogging "Duchess Tea" at the wedding on one the daughters. Now this all may be made up nonsense but the thing is with Fergie she has such a reputation for doing anything to make money that none of it seems too preposterous

ThePoshUns · 23/03/2026 12:47

Fergie flogging tea at Eugenie’s wedding is in Andrew Lownies book and not been challenged, so….
