Beatrice and Eugenie banned from Ascot

Beatrice and Eugenie have been banned from the royal box at Ascot and from royal events in the foreseeable future. That's according to a headline in the Daily Mail. A little part of me feels a bit sorry for them as they're not their parents. I don't like them much but they do seem to symbolise all that's wrong with the royals. Money and immense wealth and priviledge for very little return.

Equally - he doesn’t have to share his finances with the public- why should he? It’s NOT PUBLIC MONEY so why should he??

Everything W has is derived either from direct public funding or contentious diversions from what should be placed in the national pot.

His secrecy as against even the limited details Grandma and Papa chose to share (Papa now quietly doesn't) is a gift to those who wonder what he may have to hide.

If they had any sense they would step out of the spotlight for the next 10 years and quietly focus on their families and jobs.

I think it would be an interesting exercise to see them take the 10 bank holidays and 25 odd days leave p.a. the plebs enjoy.

Personally with the York women, I’d have proactively said, I’ll be known as Mrs /Ms husband name or Windsor.

Prior to marriage I remember B at least was only known as Beatrice York on her firm's webpage. Not sure if she's changed that on marriage.

Except I havent been slagging him off regardless...feel free to show proof of that...

I find it very sad that the Palace put out this statement in response to a Panorama interview with Virginia Guiffre in 2019.

"It is emphatically denied that The Duke of York had any form of sexual contact or relationship with Virginia Roberts. Any claim to the contrary is false and without foundation".

My thoughts are always with the survivors and I cannot imagine what a crushing blow it would have been to VG to read that. And who knows how much that statement contributed to her ultimate suicide.

I don’t think the King is reluctant to kick AMW out of the succession - the issue is that it’s not really his call. We have been a parliamentary democracy since 1688 and ultimately Parliament calls the shots. Including if we should have a monarch and who it should be.

I agree. So many times we read on here how difficult it is being a Royal, no privacy, always under the spotlight...yet the likes of Beatrice, husband, her stepson positively court paps and media attention. It tells me all I need to know. Why would you do this

The property developer SIL has recently lost an Australian deal due to the project going tits up and a rather cosy deal to gussy up Royal Lodge but I don't know if any other deals have collapsed.
