Why is there more online vitriol towards Megan Markle than Andrew?

I find it ridiculous how there is consistent hate towards Megan markle when she does pretty low key things like launching jam that no one is being forced to buy. People were delighted that she is no longer using HRH titles and even said she shouldn’t call herself the Duchess of Sussex (even though that is distinct from royal titles).

On the flip side - NO ONE has called for an actual investigation into Prince Andrew on the days that he claimed to be at Pizza Express in Woking, when his movements are logged by the royal gamily and his security detail so they eill
know exactly where he was!

He slept with an underage victim of sex trafficking who
conveniently died by suicide shortly before her memoir naming and shaming many individuals came out.

Limited criticism of the late Queen who used £12million
pg her personal money to pay off an underage sec trafficking victim & shielded him from any investigation.

Disgusted by it all and was amused to see the vitriol on an article about Megan breathing, whereas limited calls for Andrew to be investigated by any U.S or UK authorities!

WHY?

I reckon it’s not hard to work this one out… Occam’s razor: go for the simplest most obvious explanation…

I don't know, but I could hazard a guess. I was taken aback watching Breakfast tv on BBC1 this Morning. Where they said that Andrew pays his water bill, when the fancy takes him. If only us plebs could choose whether to be bothered with such trifles, when the mood takes us. They had some MP, or other commenting, and she could not have been more gentle in her response, if she tried. Ridiculous.

Possibly because her ‘fans’ keep creating threads like this encouraging people to keep talking about all the things they don’t like about her. One thread has just completely filled up so you’ve immediately started another to get people to talk about it?

Most of what you term hate I'd call dislike - hate is a very strong word for someone that you don't know. I agree some posters are obsessed (best to ignore them) but a lot of us find her antics amusing and pathetic in a soap-opera way. I don't hate Andrew either - why would I? What good would it do?

I think those that post on threads about Meghan day in day out are the true fans because they keep her prominent and in the media but then complain about it.

Yes she's annoying but she hasn't done anything lately to talk about,but there always seems to be three or four threads running concurrently about her or Harry

Whereas Andrew is on every news channel, every chat program, all over the US media and other countries and what really amuses me is that a lot of die hard contributors to Meghan threads are nowhere to be seen on the Andrew threads! How weird is that. What is going on at the moment with him and Sarah really matters. They are talking about it being debated in parliament, unheard of.

This. ^ Even so @ladykale Meghan is not loathed more than Andrew, most people either don't care about her/don't even think about her, or they just find her annoying and irksome. Most people are just pretty much disgusted by Andrew and find him repugnant. People don't feel like this about Meghan.

All you have done now is started another thread where people can continue to bash Meghan.

I suspect it’s largely to do with you clicking on posts about Meghan in the past and now that’s impacted your browsing history.

Most of what I see is about Andrew. I should have known better than to have read some of the articles as now I don’t seem to be able to get rid of them!

Meghan has a lot of fans on here that constantly seek stuff out for her to bash her with. they must be fans ......who else would be that obsessed.

I suspect the hate against her is fuelled to take the eye from Andrew. There’s a certain type of person in the UK that love a hate filled rant at people they believe should act in a more subservient manner. I believe she’s hated because she is confident and has a successful life and isn’t bowing and scraping. The people I know of in RL that slate her are male chauvinists that are homophobic and racist. They also think that Prince Andrew did nothing wrong and the girls were all
desperate to sleep with old men for the money and a pay out. They hang Union Jack flags on the walls of their homes and think all immigrants should be deported. The dregs basically.

Well I dislike her for a number of reasons, but I would never say anything about her on a thread about him or vice versa. The two situations are not comparable and one doesn’t detract from the other. I think a lot of posters on threads about the royals are mostly interested in raking up dirt on any of them because their agenda is to undermine the institution of monarchy; typically those people tend to be supportive of her as part of their overall anti monarchy narrative.

Meghan is a liar, self promoting off the very back of the institution she lied about, dislikes, there are loads more reasons I’ve been vocal about.
Andrew is, and always has been a sleazy, over entitled arsehole, and I believe he’s a criminal too, but that needs to be seen via the courts for proper review.
both should be stripped of titles, he should be in court and probably jail too

I think people are in agreement about what Andrew has done being awful. It’s in the news and there aren’t many supporters doing opinion pieces or threads online.

Because Meghan hasn’t done anything categorically wrong, there can be lots of people who either agree or disagree with her. And, that’s without anyone trying to deliberately discredit her.

I post on threads about the Sussexes (both of them) and Prince Andrew, partly because I profoundly dislike the behaviour of all three, partly because I dislike the spread of inaccuracies.

There seem more frequently to be inaccuracies (possibly deliberate, possibly not) in threads about the Duchess of Sussex.

My DM who has never had any discernable interest in the royal family hates Harry and Meghan with a bizarre passion.

Well not that bizarre when you see how many articles are pumped out in the Daily Mail about them, even when nothing is happening.

It's stirred up by massive bot activity on social media. Very convenient for the rest of the family to have ready made scapegoats as cover.

Because he keeps out of the public eye so it’s easier to forget about him unlike Meghan who is always promoting her next venture.

It’s pathetic to try and compare these two. They’re both horrible in their different ways: one an obnoxious, entitled, corrupt likely criminal and the other a ruthless narcissistic manipulator who craves attention and publicity like oxygen.

It’s perfectly possible to dislike both of them I assure you.

And why shouldn't she? Why can't she make a living? So she is involved in a schmaltzy NF series and sells jam and wine. So bloody what. Why can't she promote her next venture, it's not hurting you. Just ignore it if you dislike her that much.

I think Meghan is just very ordinary. Everyone knows someone like her so people can relate and see through her. She's quite irritating as she has delusions of greatness and grandeour due to her marriage but is actually quite mundane and humdrum with no talent or anything interesting to say. There's always someone like that at work or school that irritates.

Whereas Andrew isn't ordinary in that his life has been completely extraordinary from birth. So for some reason his appalling behavior is seen as something extraordinary too. And is not so irritating as Meghan but is obviously far more shocking. But also no one else can relate as no one knows anyone else like Andrew that would behave in that way.

There’s more than a dozen threads on Andrew right now and they have been by far the most active over the last week in the Royal section. They have also trended on MN.

Why so defensive? I’m stating a fact, out of sight out of mind. I don’t recall saying I didn’t like her, I answered the question as to why she gets more hate than Andrew and you’ve gone off on one.

One week.Just one week. It hardly compares to years and years of Meghan and Harry threads. In the past Andrew threads die a death and aren't full of posters outraged. Even when there was a lot going on with him. Unlike Meghan threads which are prolific and hateful all the time.
