Continuing the on from the As ever thread

  • Funny article from Jan Moir

https://archive.ph/UfTPx

  • Turns out Chrissy wasn’t the only known bully that Meg invited onto the show. David Chang has serious anger issues and has bullied staff

https://www.standard.co.uk/culture/tvfilm/meghan-markle-s-shameless-pr-stunt-with-david-chang-is-disgusting-b1244549.html

  • Megs new show hasn’t appeared in the Top ten on NF in the UK or US, which she had done for the first series. NF aren’t promoting it other that in the ‘new this week’ section. You also have to scroll along to find it.
  • No stock sold out yet

Meghan Markle’s shameless PR stunt with David Chang is disgusting

The first episode of With Love, Meghan season two has a nasty jumpscare

Sashaying through a bookshop saying she doesn't have time to read is on point.

Phase42 · 29/08/2025 23:53

I'm slowly trying to watch her program on Netflix - this evening I watched the fourth episode (I think?)...the one with the Indian couple. I've no doubt that they are nice people but it was seriously boring. I kept drifting off to sleep.

She genuinely just doesn’t seem to see the need to think about how she’ll be perceived. Just gimme the dollars and I’ll do the bare minimum…

Noseyoldcow · 30/08/2025 00:03

I’ve just watched the episode with Chrissy Teigan. And apparently they haven’t seen each other in 20 years , since the Deal or no Deal days. So why was Chrissy a recipient of the first few jars of the jam spread slop? Blimey. I don’t have many friends, but then I am an anti social mare and I don’t care, nor do I have anything to promote. But if I did, I’d worry about my lack of “friends” real or otherwise.

Bontonbonbon · 29/08/2025 22:21

She’s a philistine with no accomplishments. This is why she goes on and on about the P&G letter. That was the zenith of her achievements, apart from being on a cable TV show and marrying a prince.

The international philanthropist persona was a shakily crafted veneer which didn’t stand up to the least examination.

Well she sucked Harry in by telling him what he wanted to hear. She was playing at being Mummy Mark Two. Now she doesn’t need to bother keeping that up. She can just be herself.. venal and vacuous. He’s burnt all his boats and has no other options now.

Well, look at the wedding guests, many of whom didn’t even know her.

404PageNotFound · 30/08/2025 01:04

Meghan has shown herself to be exactly who she is - unremarkable. She was an unremarkable actress. She thought becoming a princess or a duchess would elevate her to superstardom after the affection shown at the wedding. She isn't the entrepreneur, the feminist, the groundbreaker or all of the other things she thought the marriage and the title would bring, she is just an unremarkable person who is completely out of her depth.

My take on M’s views about being royal is not that she was ill prepared or supported.

I think she was arrogant in thinking she would have total agency over a lifestyle that was (lavishly) funded in recognition of the service and constraints the working royals are expected to adhere to.

That she would get to pick the causes and events and the schedule. The freebies, jewellery and grace and favour residences.

She presumed she’d be her own CEO when in fact she was just a pretty mid ranking “employee” of The Firm whose influence was negligible and where the scope to throw away long standing tradition and rules was none existent.

As soon as she realised that “M doesn’t get what M wants” she started planning her exit.

Apologies , caught this half way down a page - but I think there is much truth in this. Thank you BiC . I think MM was offered a huge amount of support and chose not to take it.

Bloodymigraines · 30/08/2025 01:25

Has Meghan acknowledged that the kitchen she's in isn't hers ? I've just heard a snippet from WLM when John Legend appeared and Meghan , when she saw him said "I would have told H to come'" . Isn't this a strange thing say if you're in your own home? Wouldn't you say "Shame H can't be here, he's away/out for the day?

Weepixie · 29/08/2025 20:52

@FleurDeFleur

I meant to mention the white gloves!! They’re so symbolic.

I can understand how documents from today would still be available hundreds of years from now but how did they keep the ones from hundreds of years ago till now. Was there a keeper of documents or did people just keep them under the bed in the equivalent of a fancy Dairy Milk box and no one threw them out because Aunty or Uncle so and so will come back and haunt us if we do.

OK haven't finished thread but Oh MN Towers please bring back the laughing emoji. Most of us just use it when someone has made us laugh.
Which in this case @Weepixie did

upinaballoon · 30/08/2025 08:46

I have old photos which were kept in a now-very-dilapidated box which must have held chocolates in the 1920s.

I wish the laughing emoji were still with us.

Seriously, no doubt loads of documents were thrown away, but ones about land would be important. My county archive allows people to look at things. All counties have their archives, I guess. Earlier this year I looked at a document from 1321, about a land lease I think. Vellum, apparently, so I didn't have to wear gloves. MM could have had history lessons on Tuesday afternoons.

I believe she and Harry went to see 'Hamilton'. Did they ever go to a play or a concert or a film?

BalloonSlayer · 30/08/2025 08:50

Makehaysunshine · 29/08/2025 20:21

Totally agree.

IIRC Fergie wrote a book about Queen Victoria as she was fascinated by her and had access to so much documentation. I think her interest was said to be why she called her eldest Beatrice ( and I think Eugenie's middle name is Victoria, not that I am a sad royal geek but it stuck in my head because Eugenie Victoria is the proper name of Scarlett's daughter Bonnie in Gone With The Wind) Off to Google now, and probably find out I am totally incorrect!

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 29/08/2025 20:05

I never believed for one minute the nonsense that Meghan is an intellectual giant. Anyone with the smallest smidgeon of intellectual curiosity would have got stuck into learning all about their new country and the hugely significant family they were marrying in to. She had access to the most amazing places, the most brilliant historians and all the books and documents she could possibly want...but seemingly didn't bother with any of it. Imagine what even a short conversation with the late Queen and Prince Phillip could have taught her. What a bloody waste. She is lucky that Harry is even more stupid than she is.

Bugger, this was the post I was trying to quote!

MinnieCauldwell · 30/08/2025 08:53

Interesting to see the Cloonys out on the red carpet this week, all over the main news. A real power couple; I can't imagine Amal flogging pancake mix from a borrowed kitchen. They host a gathering at their lake side villa each year, not sure the Harkles have made the cut yet?

I think it was mentioned in the very 1st episode.

I think there's quite a difference - George and Amal are both intelligent and successful in their own right. They are also philanthropists, genuinely making a difference for vulnerable women in particular.
The Sussexes aren't in that league!

I think she saw how dignitaries and heads of state (possibly even charity representatives etc) were to be invited and realised there would be plenty of people there that Harry hadn't met so why not forge connections for herself?
I suspect the people present who Meghan really cared about and counted as friends barely reached double figures.

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 30/08/2025 12:25

@ThePoshUns that's for the share token. It is quite a funny article, but it must sting.

Imagine being waterboarded for four hours with treacle and insincerity. Well, it’s more painful than that.

There were no dignitaries or heads of state invited to Harry's wedding. In contrast to William's wedding, which was a state occasion in all but name, Harry's was basically a family wedding which happened to have TV cameras and a carriage ride thrown in!
