Many thanks @TheAutumnCrow! My archiving leaves a lot to be desired! 🤣

Bloody hell, that article's a rollercoaster ride!

At a family gathering in 2013, Harry and Andrew had got into a heated argument, and punches were thrown over something Andrew said behind Harry’s back. According to a source close to both men, Harry told him he was a coward not to say it to his face.

Harry got the better of Andrew by all accounts, leaving him with a bloody nose before the fight was broken up.

TheAutumnCrow · 02/08/2025 13:11

This is the 'Meghan bullying bombshell' bit:

Some say a report on bullying accusations against Meghan Markle has never been released because it would also raise questions about the behaviour of the Queen’s second son.

The way Andrew treated staff caused one royal aide to describe him as ‘a deeply unpleasant man’. Colin Burgess, who served as equerry to the Queen Mother for many years, felt he was treated with disdain by Andrew, in ‘stark’ contrast to the respect for staff shown by Prince William and Charles, the then Prince of Wales.

Apparently Andrew was 'never disciplined'.

HM QEII was very, very silly not to bring him up (or have him brought up) better. It was a surprising error on her part, to be so indulgent; although of course in the end she did have to ground him and carry out a kind of preventative demotion of him, so goodness knows what material must have finally been presented to her in order for her to act.

jeffgoldblum · 02/08/2025 13:16

I know ! @TheAutumnCrow, nothing as blind as a mothers love I suppose, but still 🤷‍♀️ , I’m hoping it will contain more than just salacious gossip, I could do without all the sex! 🤣 afterall this will come as no surprise to most of us ! Notorious shagger , shagging around a lot 🥱

It's quite something to see all his bad behaviour compiled like that. He really is a revolting man.

No doubt at all!

I am pretty shocked by this morning’s article in the Daily Mail - prior to this I had only heard that Andrew was accused of sleeping with the trafficked teenager Virginia Giuffre but none of the rest of these allegations. Am I right in thinking that the Daily Mail, and the publishers, would not have dared to publish if they did not have proof? So it’s safe to believe that this new information is true?

jeffgoldblum · 02/08/2025 13:50

You can be confident that it will be mostly accurate!
Andrew has been known to be a notorious shagger of women since his youth , when he was considered the handsome prince! , his boorish behaviour is inline with others in his circle.
the only new things for me is the fact that he apparently warned Harry about Meghan ( odd , how would he know?) and that Harry physically attacked him and apparently hates his guts!
this information is truly bizarre considering the lack of criticism of him from harry in his book.

Ooh, that does sound like an interesting read — though I suspect I’d be throwing the book at the wall more than once thanks to that pompous twat. I’ve always wondered how four children raised under the same roof turned out so differently. And honestly, I’m surprised Philip ever let him get away with that kind of behaviour.

Vespanest · 02/08/2025 13:59

the author would be liable unless the mail knew that it wasn't truth. With these style of biographies as long as there's enough truth other areas may be exaggerated or rumour based. It would be hard to sue for a falsehood without revealing areas that are fact. Especially an Andrew figure with areas bordering (allegedly) criminal behaviour

Thanks, I believe you that it mainly true, but I think the only reason Harry left such a juicy morsel out of his book was because he was planning on serving it up some time in the future.

Phillip? Wasn't he a bit of a shagger also?

Lol Philip was just as bad and no doubt encouraged it !

FenellaFeldman · 02/08/2025 14:09

It just confirms everything, doesn't it? An entitled, bullying, arrogant oaf. Worse, an abuser and exploiter. Poor Virginia Guiffre can't speak up anymore, but I hope she and the other victims can get some sort of justice.

Very interesting.

FenellaFeldman · 02/08/2025 14:12

Andrew went to Gordonstoun, you'd have thought some of that would have been knocked out of him.

elessar · 02/08/2025 14:12

I know we all knew Andrew was despicable but reading that article makes me feel almost physically sick. He’s a disgusting human being.

the late Queen and Prince Philip have a lot to answer for in allowing Andrew to behave the way he has done all his life.

It really is odd that Harry was so silent about uncle Andrew in Spare - suggests to me that there’s a few skeletons in his own closet that he doesn’t want to risk getting out there, particularly given that Andrew has been much less discreet than other members of the family.

Eugenia was the only person in the royal family who was still friends with Harry when he wrote the book, maybe he didn’t want to lose her?

FenellaFeldman · 02/08/2025 14:15

I don't think that can be it, @NeelyOHara .
For 5 years Harry monetised the RF. He sold all sorts of private details and gossip. Even quite petty things like with Catherine and the lip balm. It's always struck me as odd that neither he, nor Meghan, have ever criticised Andrew at all.
Very strange.

I am somewhat surprised that Prince Philip didn’t take Andrew to task about his boorish behaviour. By all accounts he was quick to raise issues with Charles .

Yes, that surprised me too. Unless it didn't work. Charles and Anne were perhaps more manageable?

Edited

Indeed! , and before we learnt these new pieces of information many of us have wondered just why Andrew has been excempt from criticism.
the only real mention of him is when Harry felt compelled to let us know Meghan didn’t know him and thought he was the queen’s servant!!!
meghan who was close friends with his daughter before she met Harry , apparently didn’t know who her friends father was!
and I’m still wondering just why V G lawyer felt that Meghan would be relevant to the court case!
