How can Harry be so deluded?

The paranoia deepens

I don't really know what to conclude from this other than that Harry must feel the victim of a deep state conspiracy. Being a spoilt brat, and not understanding that he's there to serve his country rather than the country being there to serve him, can't help. Even if he did fear strategic delays, why would he jump to the conclusion that specific individuals have it in for him, rather than that there's a bigger picture to consider?

I just can't fathom the depths of misery and confusion he must experience on a daily basis. He must think his whole life was a lie until he met Meghan. I really do think things with Harry are much worse than they seem. Which puts an entirely different, and much darker, gloss on all of Meghan's utterings of her era of joy.

I honestly wouldn't want to be in their orbit. And I wonder whether those who remain in their orbit are desperate, whether as friends or employees. They're too much.

Harry and Meghan explored changing surname to Spencer amid children’s passport delays

That is a great theory @GiveMeSpanakopita !😁 " I don't want to think about this fighty boring stuff and if you make me......." "Oh he's gone again, just shout " new monastery! at him".

Do Netflix have any decent history programmes? Viewer here if you get one (much better use of their money than lining certain other pockets)

@Allthegoodnamesarechosen William Marshall is my Ultimate Historical Crush. Fascinating and fabulous.

That’s why I said it’s excruciating, how the pair of them can’t see it is completely beyond me.

He's found freedom whilst the rest of them stay cocconed in their gilded cage with decades of stultifying but hightly renumerated "how naice" " how interesting" whilst their children are under intense scrutiny for the rest of their lives as well. It's 2025 not 1825 and they may thank Harry in the long run for calling time on this - they can be rich aristocrats and fade into well deserved obscurity.

they haven't bought an award for a while.

Haven't they, or she, got one coming up? Vaguely remember reading something, can't recall what it's for. Best use of flower sprinkles in a tv show, perhaps?

She's getting an award on the 14th June from the Natural History Museum of LA or something. For championing minorities in the community I think - although I have no idea what evidence there is of her doing this. Her lawyer is a trustee of the museum, so it sounds pay to play as all these celebrity awards seem to be. It's the same day as Trooping the Colour.

Harry has called time on what?
His decision to quit has had no impact on the monarchy whatsoever, nor any other aspect or function of the UK. That's ludicrous. . It is risible to imagine that anyone would ever thank such a petulant, arrogant, greedy and deceitful character as him.
They are well rid.

Freedom ??
Harry would love to still be in that gilded cage !

I bloody love these awards. He may as well make one from a Fairy Liquid bottle and some kitchen foil.

Yes, it's the worst version of "freedom" I've ever seen! 😂

NewAgeNewMe · 06/06/2025 18:08

@sualipa Harry didn’t really want to call time. Their initial statement said they wanted half in half out & to collaborate (I think) with the late Queen. They only flounced when told no. A word Harry probably wasn’t used to hearing, tbh I doubt most of the rf aren’t used to it either.

Uricon2 · 06/06/2025 18:09

From the Mail-

"In a gushing press release ahead of next Saturday's Night of Wonder, American geologist Lori Bettison-Varga, President and Director of the Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County, hailed Meghan as a philanthropist and LA success story.

She said: 'We are proud to honour Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, a native Angeleno, whose work to advance community wellbeing and expand opportunity — especially for underserved communities — aligns with our equity-focused approach to developing science literacy for the next generation'. "

"And MailOnline can reveal that one of the event's organisers is Rick Genow, a friend and business partner of Meghan's who helped with the business side of the Sussexes' departure from royal life."

What has she actually done for "underserved communities"?

CopperTray · 06/06/2025 18:26

I read that at undeserved initially and thought it was an odd thing to say!

I have to decide between him and William of Orange. It's often difficult. But those two are definitely better-value Williams than the ones we've had on the throne of England heretofore.

"advance community wellbeing" 😂

Puzzledandpissedoff · 06/06/2025 18:36

You don't need a PR profesh to analyse them at this point. Anyone with eyes can see that it's all becoming a bit of a mess

Probably one of your best understatements, @GiveMeSpanakopita

Edited

My No 2 is Charles II who appeared to be able to mock himself and sounds like a right laugh.

ETA his umpteen times great grandson (Diana's side) Harry would do well to have a little read up about him.

"advance community wellbeing" 😂

If the "community wellbeing" being advanced applies to 4 people at whatever their address is in Montecito, it might be appropriate. Otherwise, we are certainly in "Legend of Aviation" territory.

His Mum used to brief the press and then complain about press intrusion so there's a genetic predisposition to this sort of thing.

Yes. You’d think he’d have learnt from her mistake but I think he’s too thick to learn much of anything. I wish he’d just disappear and live a quiet life.

just stop complaining you idiot! Think of the amazing privilege you actually have and enjoy what you’ve got.

Not2identifying · 06/06/2025 18:47

I'd be so embarrassed to pick up a meaningless award.

At least Edward didn’t decide to skip a memorial for the Royal Marines in order to tout for voiceover work from the CEO of Disney…

Of course it’s on the same day as the trooping of the colour because Kate will be in the news that day.

I genuinely think H&M are unhinged in their jealousy of the Wales family its seethes out of them, if I were W&K I would be scared about what those two are capable of and keep myself and my DC well clear (which is what I think they are doing anyway tbf).

I read that Meghan has gained half a million new followers. So this is a win for her, right? Does followers equal freebies and opportunities to merch? Because this is a new branding direction seemingly - not as a pp says quiet luxury and business expertise.

As for Harry - his only use is as (Montecito) court jester. He has absolutely nothing else to offer.

What demographic of followers does that video attract though? The hun brigade and their baby daddies I expect. Maybe that’s where the money is for Meghan, she certainly isn’t going to get a Dior contract after that vulgar and crude spectacle for the masses.

Maybe, but I don’t think that is as bad as the Captain General of the Marines abandoning them to actually schmooze said Mouse

Uricon2 · 06/06/2025 19:17

sualipa · 06/06/2025 18:53

Though he does have Mickey Mouse Medals.

Edward had the balls to realise that the Marines was not for him, or he for them and risked ridicule by leaving. He and Sophie haven't put a foot wrong for decades and do useful work that is frequently under reported.

All Royals, ours and foreign, have a chestful of honorary medals, including Harry.

Yet he wants his own children to decide for themselves whether they become working members of the royal family or not, he certainly doesn’t want and end to the monarchy or obscurity for his children, anything but. How William must laugh that Harry actually thinks his kids have any chance of being working members of the royal family, what a desperate deluded fool Harry is.
