The royal family

How can Harry be so deluded?

The paranoia deepens

I don't really know what to conclude from this other than that Harry must feel the victim of a deep state conspiracy. Being a spoilt brat, and not understanding that he's there to serve his country rather than the country being there to serve him, can't help. Even if he did fear strategic delays, why would he jump to the conclusion that specific individuals have it in for him, rather than that there's a bigger picture to consider?

I just can't fathom the depths of misery and confusion he must experience on a daily basis. He must think his whole life was a lie until he met Meghan. I really do think things with Harry are much worse than they seem. Which puts an entirely different, and much darker, gloss on all of Meghan's utterings of her era of joy.

I honestly wouldn't want to be in their orbit. And I wonder whether those who remain in their orbit are desperate, whether as friends or employees. They're too much.

Harry and Meghan explored changing surname to Spencer amid children’s passport delays

Exclusive: source says couple feared unexplained wait was due to king’s opposition to their children bearing HRH title

A passport is a legal document that people use for identification purposes. You can't apply for a passport using a name that doesn't match your birth certificate and it appears that Harry did that. The whole process is extremely tight these days.

This isn't Harry being treated differently from everyone else, it's him being treated exactly the same.

This isn't Harry being treated differently from everyone else, it's him being treated exactly the same.

As the saying goes, when all you have known is privilege, equality can seem like oppression.

I think another problem for Harry is that previously his 'people' - otherwise known as the much derided 'grey men' - would handle all this dull stuff. Now it's up to him, and he appears to have difficulty tying his own shoelaces.

Baital · 04/06/2025 18:15

The only other option was to renounce DD's birth nationality. But I won't do that on her behalf, that's up to her when she is an adult. It is a huge part of her life and identity, and although it would be bureaucratically convenient, I wouldn't make that decision for her.

I see the Firms PR machine is out in force again.

He didn't choose this life and all he's ever asked is that the media stop posting negative stories about his wife and family when at the same time they're all loving up the rest of the royal family

I also strongly don't think he actually is Charles' son, but that's a whole other story.

He did choose his life. He chose to go and live in California as a private citizen. He has far more choices than the vast majority of people ever have, simply through an accident of birth.

As for the tired old lines about 'the media', I'm unsure of the relevance, given that he clearly leaked this story to the media himself.

He does seem to struggle with the mundane details of everyday life.

Disappointed but not surprised.

They can’t be removed unless there is a change in the law, and it would look pretty bad if anyone tried to take away a personal gift from the late queen to her grandson.

Would it really look bad ? I am not sure about that . Having said that I think Andrew should also have his Dukedom removed .

Baital · 04/06/2025 18:20

Maybe it was the RF and the men in grey suits delaying DD's passport...

Not really a surprise though. The Guardian isn't the paper it once was.

😂

Maybe I can get a multi million pound deal for an autobiography?

smilesy · 04/06/2025 18:23

It seems to be that they think all their problems will be solved by rebranding (ARO, As Ever), changing their names (Mountbatten Windsor, Sussex, Spencer) or pivoting direction (internet safety, era of joy, tv producers, podcasters). When each thing doesn’t work, they just turn to something else 🤷‍♀️. Nothing is ever their responsibility

It's just absolutely weird.

And all it's shows is that she didn't gain 65lbs with Lilibet, and she didn't with Archie - so why say it?

All it does is fuel more speculation - it is her bump, it's slightly weirdly lumpy as she is obviously attached to a telemetry CTG monitor to assess fetal HR & uterine contractions. I'm assuming she's in a delivery room as she's in the early stages of being induced.

Baital · 04/06/2025 18:20

I mean - yes, it probably was the men in grey suits, working together with the Home Office, to sort this situation out. And it resulted in a delay. Because they had to get it right, and that takes time when a decision can be consequential on legal, constitutional, PR, financial, tax, diplomatic etc etc etc fronts. You have to be paranoid to take it personally.

There's no other conclusion for me: he's delusional.

Hugh Laurie GIF

What was it that the Tom Quinn’s new book said?

“The joke used to be that Harry was very much like the Prince Regent in the Blackadder television series."

"People used to say that without a servant, Harry would take two weeks to put on his own trousers.”

HonoriaBulstrode · 04/06/2025 18:26

Nonsense.

He strongly resembles both Charles and Philip. Far more so than William does.

FloraBotticelli · 04/06/2025 17:45

What conclusion would you draw if your passport application was taking 5 months when everyone else’s is done in 3 weeks?

Harry's source says it's because they wanted HRH on the passports. Incredible how Harry's camp is so deluded they think that'll make them sound more and not less sympathetic. Delay makes perfect sense to me. Ok so drop the title and apply like the normal person outside of the fetters of the RF you apparently fought so hard to escape.

I don't follow royal news at all, this was on MN front page, but out of the bunch of unemployed clowns in his family, he's the clowniest one of all 🤡

MyDarlingWhatIfYouFly · 04/06/2025 18:26

Baital · 04/06/2025 18:08

Probably!

DDs passports, UK and country of origin, are in her birth name - Firstname Birthsurname.

Her everyday life in the UK uses her chosen name, under a Statutory Declaration, of Firstname Middlename Adoptedsurname-Birthsurname. As she is legally entitled to do.

Changing her name legally in her country of origin will take 3-4 years and a lot of money. Until that is done she cannot get her country of origin passport in her 'new' name, which means she can't get her UK passport in her 'new' name. You can't have international travel documents in different names.

So we gave up. As I said, her 'new' name isn't a million miles away from her 'old' name. I would be worried about any law enforcement officer who couldn't spot that there might be a connection 😂

But that’s not the same in the uk - via deed poll you can change your name in a matter of weeks - a few of my friends created a blended surname when they got married (so neither of their unmarried names nor double -barrelled) and it was straightforward.

If he wanted to he could have changed the whole family’s name via deed poll - he was clearly worried that there was something specific about the name Sussex and the delays were something to do with that. So to get around it he thought of using Spencer instead.

if you look at it without hate-filled glasses there’s really no drama here and yes, it is none of our business.

This is exactly it. He's allowed to choose to go: most people would have wished him and his family the very best of luck, and please come back to visit. But when his terms of departure are so seemingly conditional on keeping certain cherry-picked privileges, none of it holds water.

He doesn't want the life of a rich actor or a CEO because those people have to work. He wants the life of a rich aristo posh boy, second son who doesn't need to work, just make the family look good by putting in a couple of days a month at a charity gig.

I should have said the lifestyle of an actor or CEO. Agree he doesn't actually want to have that kind of workload or responsibility (CEO). He doesn't want to work to move through the ranks either. He thinks he's got something that makes him suitable and entitled to head up some sort of charity or hold a senior fake role in some company.

I have compassion for his messed up upbringing. I think he's a bit of a scapegoat too. He was a child etc and tried to break through the dysfunction and the people in the system (royal family) would obviously stick together, but he remains delusional.

The answer is to start a new life and cut your cloth. Find out who he is away from the royal family and luxury lifestyle. I don't believe he needs high level security if he just went ahead with a life away from anything royal and stayed out of the press and steps back from his charities. He might get papped a couple of times a year in his new boring life but I don't think anyone would hound him the way he claims they would.

Mylovelygreendress · 04/06/2025 18:28

Re - reading that article , Harry suggests it will be up to A and L if they want to be working Royals but surely he knows it doesn’t work like that ? Beatrice and Eugenie ( or at least their parents) wanted them to be working Royals but were told no .
I cannot envisage any circumstances where William would allow it .

All I can see from where I am is a haverin cuddy.

And as for the rest of your post - it really is best left to others who’ll make a better job of a reply than I ever could.

"The Guardian understands that Prince Harry wants to keep the HRH titles for his children so that when they grow older they can decide for themselves whether they want to become working royals, or stay out of public life."

This is a really weird paragraph to me. I suppose all parents do want an unemployment backup plan for their kids though lol

Of all the odd things they've done, this has to be one of the oddest. I'm sure they are aiming for cute but have just achieved...odd, at least when put out for the entire world to see (so much for privacy)

Wonder if Harry had been at the gas and air again.
