It's not good news for Meghan. The podcast by Meghan is out of the Spotify 100 in the US and the UK. With Apple it's not even in the top 200 chart.

i thought she was great in Suits but she absolutely wasn’t well known.

I was already a big Suits fan and when it was announced that Harry was dating Meghan Markle an actress in Suits I had to Google her to check which actress she was.

The only actress with name recognition on that show at that time was Gina Torres.

I remember feeling very sorry for Meghan when it was announced she was giving up acting when she married - because she’d just had her first proper big break as an actress and was throwing away that momentum.

None of the other cast members have gone on to great things though have they? Meghan wasn't a very good actress so 'Suits' was likely to have been the highlight of her career.

Marrying a prince was by far the best career move she ever made.

Why do you watch / listen to her?
What about her fascinates you enough to do it ?!

At this point, it’s like watching someone who thinks they can dance but absolutely and demonstrably cannot, getting up onstage and doing her thing to deafening silence while taking deep bows and faux humbly acknowledging how amazing she is at the two-step 😂. Sometimes, people who make arses of themselves can be very endearing and very entertaining. They have enough self-awareness and humility to see the truth, and are with their audience, not performing at (not even to) them. Not so with MM. She regularly puts herself out there with failure after failure and acts like everyone is telling her she’s amazing. You simultaneously feel bad for watching her face-plant in public, guilt-free because she’s doing it to herself voluntarily, semi-impressed that she just keeps trying new things while being baffled that she lays a claim to authenticity/sincerity in each endeavour, irritated that she’s so entitled to attention - just all the things. She’s endlessly entertaining.

Ordinary people are subject to lots of checks if they want to adopt. Rich people are not. They can buy a child. I too hope this isn't true as, whatever the motivation for adoption, H&M are both emotionally very needy, leaving little room to parent a child who has had a difficult beginning.

@IcedPurple didnt the last one flop too though? She seems dogged in her determination to appear relevant and/or likeable, yet unaware this is making her less so…

Yes it did flop, and this one seems like 'Archetypes' all over again. Uninspired interviews with a vague theme, the main purpose of which is for Meghan to talk about herself.

You have quite strong feelings and seem to spend quite a bit of time observing someone that makes no difference to your life whatsoever

Do you know them personally

wordler · 27/04/2025 15:05

Someone I used to work with started a podcast a few years ago - the premise was celebrities who were often thrust into the spotlight for one big thing and then what happened to them afterwards.

What strikes you is how well researched she is - and how interested she is in their lives and tries to bring out their best stories.

It’s such a contrast to Meghan bringing it all back to herself over and over again.

I was wondering what attack I would attract from you for my post, and here it is.

You know it is unlikely that I know them personally. My opinion is a reasonable one, given what they reveal of themselves through their behaviour in public and in interviews. We also know Meghan has form for casting people off. The auspices for a settled and secure family life are not positive.

And to me this is the key here.

Meghan simply isn't interested in anything or anyone other than herself. That's why she's such a terrible interviewer, and why her podcasts fall flat.

I doubt she is even aware that she keeps bringing it back to herself. For her, she is all that exists.

But you really don’t know that at all, you are basing your opinions on just snippets of their lives you see in the media

Following M's antics is total sleb-watching in a nutshell - her life make no difference to us but is as endlessly entertaining as any soap opera can be. I agree with @HiRen's post - if only Meghan could find a little self-deprecation and humour then her appearances would be more successful. Full marks to her, though, to keep bouncing back and I admire her ambition and determination to succeed without relying on Harry. By the way, your responses to posters who hold different views to yours do seem to be a bit repetitive, have you thought of mixing them up a bit?

Snippets I see in the media?

No. Facts I read in the media and which H&M do not contradict when they are reported - multiple people cast off by M, H not on speaking terms with his father and brother, multiple accusations of M's bullying. Are those features of a settled and secure family life?

foreverblowingbubbless · 27/04/2025 15:22

Well Harry is a prince of a man as they would say on the Relationships board 😂

Oh, don’t be silly enough to believe all you read in the rags😂
Just because they are not contradicting it doesn’t mean anything, that’s media training

No, because they are still relevant and the comments from a lot of posters are the usual same old same old vitriol

I find women who seem to have an extreme dislike for MH quite bizarre as this woman has done nothing to them and they don’t need to observe her at all, most reasonable intelligent women don’t pay any attention to her

Well as to the topic yeah it's been a flop. Summed up by this parody.

Created by someone riding on her coat tails and looking for just as much attention….oh the irony😂

Is there an ignore button somewhere? Genuine question. Thanks

This is genuinely a question, didnt the voice sounded a bit weird abit cartoony I thought, and very grown up for a 3 year old???

I've just listened. Theories:

  1. It's Lily and she has been coached by mom.
  2. It's a small child from Brooklyn (the accent sounds too clipped for the west coast but I know nothing 😄).
  3. It's an actress friend of M's imitating a child.

I favour 1.

Unfortunately not. In its absence all we can do is scroll past and hope others will do the same.

Eggybreadwithnuts · 27/04/2025 15:48

She sounds like the little girl in Miracle on 46th Street and was also in Mrs Doubtfire
Very cute though
