It's not good news for Meghan. The podcast by Meghan is out of the Spotify 100 in the US and the UK. With Apple it's not even in the top 200 chart.

I’m not surprised.

Not only is she not really qualified to talk about founders/entrepreneurship, it’s essentially just a Meghan love in with her besties. The market is saturated with these type of podcasts and she doesn’t have a USP to lure listeners in.

I’ve tried to listen to an episode but it was so boring. At least Archetypes was an interesting concept.

She would do better with a candid chat type of podcast. I’m envisioning something like ‘Tea with the Duchess’ where she discusses topical news stories, life in Montecito and her daily life. At least then she will have a reason to disclose random anecdotes about her family. It will probably still be divisive but I think more people will more interested to listen/hate listen, rather than her harping on about being a girl boss or dissecting stereotypes.

Wildbird12 · 26/04/2025 08:29

She lacks authenticity... If she had worked hard at the business for years it might be different - she might have something interesting to say then. Wonder what she'll do next?!

BlueEyedBogWitch · 26/04/2025 08:31

The title alone was enough to send me to sleep.

Helpmeplease2025 · 26/04/2025 08:31

She fails at everything.

Laserwho · 26/04/2025 09:07

Good

JADS · 26/04/2025 09:16

I listened to the last one in full (could not make it past the first 15 minutes of the other two). Her last guest Kadi was more interesting.

Anyway this is how Sussex.com discusses the podcast from the Time 100 thingy:

She also spoke about Confessions of a Female Founder, her new podcast produced in partnership with Lemonada Media. Within weeks of launch, it hit the #1 spot in Apple’s business podcast category and continues to be in the top ten overall. Each episode features candid conversations with trailblazing women in business, offering both inspiration and practical insight for aspiring entrepreneurs.

I get that she needs for paint it positively and strictly speaking part of it is true. However it went to Number 1 on the business chart for maybe one or two days and then disappeared. Michelle Obama's podcast has been said to be a failure, but having observed these charts for a while now, she tends to hover at around number 50. That consistency makes a more successful podcast.

EsmaCannonball · 26/04/2025 09:42

Worthiness is boring. People don't want endless output about how virtuous and philanthropic and wonderful you are. Harry and Meghan are hidebound by their desired public image being completely incompatible with producing any work that the public might actually find compelling.

IcedPurple · 26/04/2025 09:46

The podcasting market is very overcrowded, with new entrants competing for audiences every day.

What does Meghan have to offer in this competitive sector? She is not an expert on female entrepreneurship. That might not matter so much if she were a good interviewer who could bring out the best in her guests, but she isn't. She seems to just use them as an excuse to talk about herself, and she herself isn't that interesting when she's not complaining about her in laws.

Her USP was being royal, and without that she is struggling to find her niche.

foreverblowingbubbless · 26/04/2025 10:00

It is overcrowded and people will obviously have their preferences as to theme. It must be disappointing though.

Meghan can't actually make anything work, at all! No one is interested because it's the same self trumpeting lies, I have no idea what self respecting entrepreneur would hitch themselves to that train wreck

thedancingclown · 26/04/2025 13:53

Gone the same way as her acting here which was mediocre at best. I defy anyone to get through her film 'Daters Handbook' without booze. I lasted 15 mins.

A sort of Prairie Home Companion set in Montecito? Featuring the cannabis farmers, the local baristas, etc.? The odd duck or two?

"Hate listening" isn't really a 'thing' for podcasts.

Like I said, there is just so much available, with every niche catered for, that nobody is likely to waste time listening to something they don't find interesting or informative. Meghan's podcast was neither.

Even if she did as you suggest, it still sounds rather dull because her life doesn't seem terribly glamorous or exciting. People wouldn't sit through 40 minutes of Meghan talking about cabbages and flower sprinkles in the hope that she might drop a few royal anecdotes. On the off chance she might say something interesting, it would immediately be picked up on social media anyway so why bother listening?

Mylovelygreendress · 26/04/2025 15:22

How many episodes are there ?

Apparently there are eight, Mylovelygreendress

I lasted less than ten minutes with the first one, which is why I've resisted saying much about it except that it's no surprise to learn it's tanked

Bontonbonbon · 26/04/2025 19:59

I have a bit of insight as a (very small) podcast producer. Shows chart on a combination of new subscriptions and downloads. It’s never really clear how that metric is balanced. But it does mean that any heavily marketed, brand new show from someone who is already a celebrity should automatically chart very high in the first week (or even before they have an episode out). The challenge is to sustain that growth week in week because otherwise you’ll drop like a stone out of the charts.

My guess is that all the Sugars signed up in the first week, listened to the first episode and then have not really been back since. People only have so many slots for podcast listening in their day!

foreverblowingbubbless · 26/04/2025 21:35

I see Meghan is continuing to tout this on her Instagram and no mention of Harry being at the Aviation Awards again last night. More of her cooking and letting people hear Lili talk now. Why would she not feature him ? That pie looks like it has used a packet of mixed veg 😬

And some lumps of frozen pastry on top 🤷‍♀️

I was just wondering what those two slabs were 😳

LaMarschallin · 26/04/2025 21:49

Me too.
Surely they can't be lumps of un-rolled out pastry (although I know that's what they look like)?

HiRen · 26/04/2025 21:54

She just got back from the opening of a memorial to children lost to social media.

And she's using her 3yo daughter on Instagram to promote her raspberry jam sales?

This CANNOT be real. It can't. Something has to have been hacked, or it's a spoof or something. HOW can a person reconcile these two thing? What possible logic is there??

smilesy · 26/04/2025 21:55

I zoomed in and that’s definitely what they are. But, why? 🤔

LaMarschallin · 26/04/2025 21:56

But, why? 🤔

Maybe she doesn't know you have to roll it out - really weird though.

What does she think it does, spread out to cover the pie on its own? And why two bits next to each other? Truly baffling

Not2identifying · 26/04/2025 22:09

She amuses me. The pie thing is so odd it's funny.
