On their Instagram.

Surprised tbh, thought I read they wouldn't acknowledge it.

Maybe they are channeling Michelle Obama: when they go low, we go high.

Right thing to do - especially for a land mark birthday. They picked a flattering pic too.

Twistybranch · 15/09/2024 10:48

Looks like an old photo though…I’m sure someone will be able to tell where it’s from but I’m guessing it’s from his days when he was a working Royal? Which could be a dig

Twistybranch · 15/09/2024 11:10

The picture was taken in Dublin 6 years ago when he was a working Royal.

Hoopper · 15/09/2024 11:20

Its not hard to be the bigger person. It throws light on the other.

Maybe they are throwing a life raft after the whole MM bullying accusations have collapsed his life like a house of cards.

Have H&M sent birthday wishes to C&W over the past 5 years?

Recent sources said the PH was still witing for an apology from PW before he would consider stepping up to help out the RF.

He didnt specify what the apology was for tho.

And yes very Michelle Obama - she actually gave a very smart interview after the OW interview which was not supportive of H&Ms approach.

forevernumb · 15/09/2024 11:30

They did the right thing in public.

Arlanymor · 15/09/2024 11:32

Their PR team has done it, it’s a strategic public display, it doesn’t offer any insight into how they are feeling, plus the use of an old photo is a bit telling too.

Toastbuttermarmaladetea · 15/09/2024 11:43

It completely takes the wind out of the sales of the press with their tedious "royal snub" headlines.

Both Catherine's and William's 40th birthdays went unacknowledged by the Sussexes, iirc.

MrsFinkelstein · 15/09/2024 11:45

@Hoopper

Not that I'm aware of, No.

They did release a public statement supporting Catherine just after her cancer diagnosis was made public.

Spottymushroom · 15/09/2024 11:46

H&M don’t have social media accounts do they?

drivinmecrazy · 15/09/2024 11:48

I think it is quite telling that Harry's birthday has been acknowledged by W&K at this time.

In light of the increasing chatter about Meghan, I think it's a deliberate attempt of the RF to support Harry.

Who knows what's going on behind the scenes, but the media release recently of Harry talking about his children without any mention of Meghan could be perceived as very revealing.

Who knows!

FuzzyDiva · 15/09/2024 11:49

There is a huge difference between being civil and polite to someone and reconciling.

The RF mark all kinds of occasions including welcoming other political leaders, when quite often their personal views are opposing.

drivinmecrazy · 15/09/2024 11:50

Also I can't find anything to suggest that the RF publicly recognised Meghan's birthday last month

Agreed. But this is a departure from the past few years where wishes have not been sent. Maybe its because its a milestone and the RF actions would be under more scrutiny and seen as petty to ignore especially with the recent reports that PH was trying to find a way back in?

So could be self serving for the RF - or maybe its a gesture and acknowlegement that his marriage is in trouble but family are still around?

Could be both?

Do we knoe if they acknowledged her 40th? Maybe they only do milestones?

I thought they launched the jam business on their Instagram account?

FuzzyDiva · 15/09/2024 12:02

Just looked and the RF also wished Meghan happy birthday on her 40th but didn’t when she turned 43 this year so maybe it is typical for milestones and they will do so again for their 50th (unless something changes in between).

Seems strange that happily married, family man, Harry is celebrating his birthday by going on holiday with some friends and leaving Meghan and their children behind.

Also a lads holiday…..very British and not very Californian at all.

MissTrip82 · 15/09/2024 12:07

I think it would be very odd if they pretended William didn’t think about his brother on his 40th birthday. Perfectly normal to commemorate it in a small way.

I suspect this now wont be happening - otherwise expect MM posting on AIBU:

"AIBU - my whole false persona has been exposed to the world and now everyone knows I am a nasty bully - my fragile ego has imploded and I am writhing about teeth gnashing and weeping prostate on the floor in a narcisistic rage - but my hatchet man and enabler has deserted me to go bungy jumping in the mountains with MY mates ... should I get my ducks in a row?"

belugaheightss · 15/09/2024 12:13

They are family and always will be, don't believe the media, how the hell do they what their private conversations are or predict whether they will publicly acknowledge special occasions. Stop watching the news people!!

belugaheightss · 15/09/2024 12:13

How do they know*

I think it's a bit 'off' to publicly wish happy birthday to somebody you're not on speaking terms with. I know we don't know for certain that there I zero contact between the two brothers but they are certainly doing a good impression of total estrangement.
