On their Instagram.

Surprised tbh, thought I read they wouldn't acknowledge it.

Maybe they are channeling Michelle Obama: when they go low, we go high.

@MrsFinkelstein it's entertaining! Some old favourites, but some new ones, too!
Did you know that Diana was "bullied out of the royal family"?!

More Wine GIF

News to me!

I'm also running out of wine now.

But while we're expressing our views on Diana - I'll just say: I think she would have tolerated Catherine and would hated Meghan. I think she would probably have been one of those types of Mother-in-law's.

Good for them , definitely MO vibes

What does this mean?

What does this mean?

MO = Michelle Obama

forevernumb · 16/09/2024 11:08

Poor Harry not even being allowed his 40th birthday - he has to go to a charity event instead. It's a hard life when you need to count the clicks! No staying at home for you, Harry!

Hellodollydaydream · 16/09/2024 17:43

I think they just re-tweeted what was already there - so not exactly heartwarming – from what I heard it so they can't be accused of ignoring the POC and his wife

Why was Meghan named as a witness for Prince Andrew's character in Virgina Guiffre's case?

Was she? Where can I find evidence of this?

Magiconthemike · 16/09/2024 19:53

Very odd many people are claiming William and Kate wished Harry a happy birthday. The post came from the Royal Family Instagram of which King Charles no doubt has the final say.

There’s nothing about Harry’s birthday on W&K’s proper Instagram. Seems people want to imagine they’re more magnanimous than they really are.

It's on their Twitter/ X account.
Have a look.
Clear as day.

IsoldeWagner · 16/09/2024 19:58

So. Quite magnanimous, then.

ShamedBySiri · 16/09/2024 23:24

But actually they just retweeted the tweet birthday greetings from Clarence House.
I think it was a couple of hours later.
Can't help thinking someone dug William in the ribs and pointed out it would be bad optics not to send birthday greetings. So then they came up with the idea of a simple retweet (quote tweet).

It's actually pretty insulting. I'm sure normally they all send different greetings with different photos. Or their PR people do.
I'm sure it won't have gone unnoticed in Montecito.

I don't blame them, I'd never be speaking to Harry again if I was William so just retweeting his Father's birthday wishes fits the bill. 😅

Why was Meghan named as a witness for Prince Andrew's character in Virgina Guiffre's case?

Here’s the original Daily Beast article, and when you look at what people in the royal family Guiffre’s lawyers considered deposing, it also included Sarah Ferguson, the late Queen, Andrew’s brother (Charles or Edward) and Harry.

Of course, access Hollywood focused on Meghan in their story/video - because it would bring more clicks. Most people are bored shitless by the whole family but some people are also just sick of watching the biracial woman who married into the royal family be picked apart by people who should know and do better.

Meghan haters repeatedly bring this tid-bit of news concerning Andrew up cyclically, while accusing those that don’t like seeing Meghan vilified for years on end of being the ones to bring Andrew into the argument.

The newest dramatized series starring Michael Sheen and Emily Maitlis is being streamed on Amazon in a day or two so Andrew is about to be in the news again. I’m going to subscribe again so I can watch it because Emily was a consultant on this version, and also because I think Andrew has been sheltered by his brother, when he should have done the ‘honourable’ thing he said he’d do and answer any questions the American authorities have for him. He has nothing to fear because after all, he is innocent. Isn’t he?

Well he’s not innocent of having spent days in Epstein’s NYC house when he was fully aware that Epstein was a convicted paedophile. And he’s said what a wonderful friend Maxwell was - she’s currently doing 20 plus years in Rikers for trafficking young girls or something, isn’t she?

The Daily Beast article

Meghan Markle May Be Forced to Testify in Prince Andrew Lawsuit

She may have picked up “important knowledge,” David Boies, the star lawyer representing Virginia Roberts Giuffre, told The Daily Beast.

My understanding is that there have not been any birthday wishes sent from Montecito to anyone in the RF including W&C's milestone 40th over the last 4/5 years.

More than generous, in that case.

Just to correct myself: the latest dramatic series about Andrew stars Martin Sheen as Andrew and Ruth Wilson as Emily Maitlis. A Very Royal Scandal.

IsoldeWagner · 17/09/2024 04:36

Pretty insulting? @ShamedBySiri ?
Well. After all that Harry has said and done - and monetised - I think any birthday wishes at all from his family are magnanimous.
Extraordinary that you find birthday wishes to a man who could stoop so low for cash "insulting".

FlappingMadly · 17/09/2024 07:42

What has happened? What implosion?

Did you not read my last paragraph?

"I don't blame them, I'd never be speaking to Harry again if I was William so just retweeting his Father's birthday wishes fits the bill. 😅"

I obviously don't make myself clear. It reeks of Charles' office sending the good wishes and then someone at William's office saying "we really ought to send something sir"
"Oh well - if we must - what he said. Send that".

I think there's a very pointed message there and I applaud it. I'm quite sure it will not have gone unnoticed. It's up there with "I was gong to get you a card. But I forgot."

I'm not going to do an exhaustive trawl of Royal family birthday greetings via Twitter and instagram so do correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure there has never been a quote retweet before. The separate offices always send out individual messages and I think normally with different photos chosen.

Well done William.

I think it makes the perfect point!

Looks like an old photo though…I’m sure someone will be able to tell where it’s from but I’m guessing it’s from his days when he was a working Royal? Which could be a dig

It was taken in Ireland about 6 years ago & is cut from a photo which included Megan. She's been cropped out.

Tbf, there were two versions of the photo that Getty images released: one with Meghan and one zoomed in on Harry. The palace have used the zoomed in version. So no cropping occurred

Also to be fair, the re-tweet has changed the wording slightly so a bit of an effort was made 😆

LOL - mixing up all the same words but crucially missing out the word "very" as in "A very happy birthday".
Even better. I hadn't noticed before. Grin

Perhaps they think the likelihood of him having a very happy birthday is remote 😂

BigWillyLittleTodger · 17/09/2024 15:10

Poor Harry, a Prince of the realm who doesn’t even get his own 40th birthday party and attends Tyler Perrys birthday party instead, he’s never top billing is he?
