I feel sorry for him. He needs an awful lot of therapy. I feel as sorry for the other sudden too.

WhyamIinahandcartandwherearewegoing · 31/08/2024 22:53

Alternatively…..now that I’m not a proper royal people aren’t massaging my ego in quite the same way, Netflix have rinsed me of the only content anyone was interested in and people think my wife and I are a pair of grifters.

QueenOfHiraeth · 31/08/2024 22:56

At the risk of a bit of homespun wisdom, my Nan always used to say "The sting from a slap wears off quickly but the sting from words never goes".
I'm not sure other family members could ever fully accept him now, I don't think I could if it were me

Blinkingbonkers · 31/08/2024 22:58

I’m assuming this is bollocks - no one could f* their family over in the way he has and seriously expect anyone would want to touch them with a barge pole again?? He’s made his bed and should take the quiet life he requested and lie in it….More fool anyone who lets him into their lives to spill the exaggerated beans the moment he gets bored (which given the intellect displayed to date won’t be long!!).

Something like this. Also if all those contracts with Netflix and others are at the end they have no income coming in.

And security and their house alone is costing them a lot of money. Then you have salaries they have to pay. And all other costs with their life style.

I wish he would just bore off. I am sick to death of seeing/hearing about him.

Mylovelygreendress · 31/08/2024 23:03

But , but ……I thought the RF were awful to him ? What about all the things he said about his father , step mother, brother , sister in law , staff ??
Why on earth would he want to return to that ?

Some media are pushing for William to forgive him so that he can come back. Media is thinking about all the drama they can write about if they come back be it part time or full time.

I think this is more likely tbh.

I actually believe he had cause for some of his issues with his family, but the only realistic way a reconciliation is going to be possible is for him to be the first to hold their hands up and say, "I did wrong & I'm sorry".

Given how far he's twisted the narrative in later interviews of what he's said to the press, in order to duck accountability, I don't see him doing this.

And it's very obvious they've realised too late their only currency is being within the royal fold.

They never wanted to leave in the first place. They wanted half in / half out. And this is not from a tabloid but from their own statement on their website at the time. When the Queen said no they went all out with interviews, books etc because they didn't get their way and they had a tantrum.

Never understood why media and their supporters overlooked that they wanted to stay half in / half out. In other words it wasn't so bad otherwise why would you want to stay.

I think Charles will always want him to return to the family fold in some capacity - at the end of the day, it's his kid.

William, on the other hand, is another story! I don't think William will ever, ever forgive Harry for trashing the family to Oprah and in Spare - and especially for turning his back on Kate who had been so kind to him.

Sadly I suspect Harry is just dim enough to believe that.

Mabs49 · 31/08/2024 23:28

Maybe he’s finally woken up and realised Meg was only ever in it for the status raise he offered her. Now that shine is fading she probably wants out. Everything she touches turns bad. Ever since she married him it’s been a downward spiral. And he’s probably realised that she only wanted the fame he brought her but as things keep going wrong for her, who can she blame? He does seem to have brought her bad luck. All quite sad really. Neither of them could fix the other. Two very very different people.

I am expecting news of a separation within the next year.

They say love is blind. How true this is!

AutumnCrow · 31/08/2024 23:29

I think Charles might 'reconcile' with Harry in a spiritual way as befits his role as his father and supreme guv'nor of the C of E - and that's it.

That would be a private reconciliation focused on forgiveness and humility.

Beyond that, the royal family had better have a bloody good strategy in place, because the monarchy's skating on very thin ice with this seemingly endless shit-show.

AzureBlue99 · 31/08/2024 23:32

Meghan still looks enthralled by him. He just looks bored and distant. They are the royal version of Affleck and J Lo.

I think he hasn't woken up. They were all lovey touchy feely on those temu tours.

I think they still want half in / half out deal. So they get their security back (paid by UK taxpayers). They can go on tours. Keep connection with royalty. And on the other hand explore commercial deals which will keep them in the life style they want/have.

I read recently (on MN or DM?) that on turning 40 - which is very soon - he inherits more from his Great Grandmother (late Queen's Mum). I don't think he is that short of cash.

Meghan is an actress.

Maybe they could find some huge property and house him and Andrew in it together. There would be lots of photos of them in range rovers and on horseback but not much else. If he divorces he really will be left with nothing, what a miserable existence he would lead if he returns to the fold.

Didn't he say in Spare or a interview that this wasn't true? I thought I read that somewhere.

Maybe he isn't short of cash YET. But lifestyle they have you need a lot of money.

William doesn't seem the forgiving type.

Pineapplesandthegovernmentandpunkrock · 31/08/2024 23:42

How would the late Queen have said, "Jog on, Harry"? "Jawg oyn, Herry."

Yousay55 · 31/08/2024 23:43

I think he is very vulnerable and deeply hurt. I don’t think he should have said those things about his family, but hopefully his family will forgive him. There are always two sides to every story.

I think very few people would forgive a betrayal like this. And who could blame him if he never wants anything to do with him again.
