Looks like William took George and Charlotte to see Taylor Swift for his birthday. Looks like Taylor was just as happy to meet them as they were to meet her.

And of course you are attacking children.

Good to see what us plebs are paying for. At least they chucked us a photo.
My sister went to the concert- she sat miles away from the stage, and it cost her a reasonable dent in her weekly salary. She had a great time.
Unlike William and his no doubt incredibly spoilt children, she deserved it, as she works incredibly hard. And she paid for it herself.

I'm sure my sister enjoyed her experience more than William did. For him it's another freebie paid for by the taxpayer, one of hundreds he gets in a year because his ancestor William the Conqueror was luckier at the Battle of Hastings than Harold in 1066. For my sister it was a lovely treat.

I also wonder if Taylor Swift really wants to spend time with freeloaders like him. Probably feels like she has to.

Wow, the judgement is strong with this post. Surely Taylor Swift paid for the tickets if you say it's a freebie not the taxpayer.

Absolutely, I'm as jealous as they come. Who wouldn't want that lifestyle in return for doing sweet FA!

How do you know what he does?!!

DelectableMe · 22/06/2024 16:37

Nan! 😂

I didn’t know that video of me dancing, at Liverpool had gone viral!

Just sparkle, ladies. Let the sourpuss sods sink into their self declared cynicism.

Disagreeing with someone's politics in a respectful way isn't disgusting!
If I were to post a pic of Kim Jong Un and his daughter at a concert and captioned it with 'cute pics of the great leader' or something, I can't then turn round and complain about people who would (rightly) post negative comments.
A) I think we should become a republic. B) On a personal level I hope Charles and Kate recover from their illnesses and aren't in pain. I'm sure they will due to having the best private care that most people can't afford. It's not disgusting to think A) because of B.)

Edited

Then start your own thread.

This thread was not about politics. It's a cute photo of the royal children having fun during a time when they are likely going through a lot of turmoil.

Learn to leave thing alone.

It's totally unnecessary to bitch all over a thread which is a picture of children.

he has the time/energy/fitness to leverage his position as Prince of Wales to get prime tickets to an England football match

Or it might be because he is the President of the FA.

So that is in fact 'work' for him.

And it was his birthday yesterday is he not allowed to celebrate?

mathanxiety · 22/06/2024 16:45

SummaLuvin · 22/06/2024 15:12

@CheeseWisely while it's not the same as standing in the crowd there will be a lot of people they have come into contact with in the process. At the football match he was shown walking through a public area (while guarded) and chatting with many various people. Taylor is certainly not shielding, going to the show and just watching from a box could be somewhat 'safe' but these meet and greets will expose people. When I saw Taylor only a week ago she was clearly suffering from a cold, blowing her nose multiple times throughout the show, some people suspected it could be covid.

So you managed to score TS tickets too, eh?

Sparsely · 22/06/2024 16:45

@Gorgonemilezola All the children at that concert are only there because their parents could afford for them to go . I would think most couldn't afford for their children to go.

Gorgonemilezola · 22/06/2024 16:39

SummaLuvin, Harry in his book says both he and William did far more work than was ever published - he was having a pop at Princess Anne, the royal who generally has the most appointments and suggesting that everything she does is in the court circular, while Harry and William did many visits to charities and such which were never publicised

I'm not the one you're replying to, but I feel like that's not really the point. The Queen said the monarchy has to be seen to be believed and she was right. Saying years after the fact "oh we did loads of hard work honestly. It's just that there's no evidence of it" doesn't really cut it, especially when people have concerns around your work ethic anyway.

Puppiesmakemehappy · 22/06/2024 16:45

I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a Royal fan but that is an absolutely fantastic genuinely happy couple of photos and I love that for them. Charlotte is beaming!!!

Runnerinthenight · 22/06/2024 16:46

toastofthetown · 22/06/2024 15:04

I'm inclined to agree. If this was coming from a background of decades of hard work in the line of his duty then I might be more sympathetic, but he's been workshy his entire time as a working royal. His elderly relatives do more than he does, and he's second in line to be our (unelected) head of state.

Begrudgery at its finest. Shame on you!

£345,000,000 a year extra it would save, so yes- good point.
And we'd be a more democratic country. This is even more important.

It wouldn't save anything. Instead of the Royal Family we'd have a president who would need to be paid for.

Pedallleur · 22/06/2024 16:48

Just children but in a position they have no say in yet. ONE day they have a choice but right there they are in the moment. They might have to do that meet and greet one day. Not old enough for the standing and yes prob in the Royal Box (clue is in the name). For Taylor she gets the publicity but isn't go to say I'm for the 2nd Amendment in case you try to invade the US.
Personally I'd be inviting everyone back to the Palace. Bruce, Taylor,, Dave Grohl (and daughters), plus any other visiting stars.

Then start a republican thread rather than
having a go at young children. Just because you're republican doesn't mean your have to be unpleasant.

It would seem that, generally, the only unpleasant republicans on here are those that would happily shelve their republican ideals if another couple were in line to be King and Queen 😉

SummaLuvin · 22/06/2024 15:18

not trying to be coy, thought I was being clear? People have been defending his lack of events and appointments by saying he is shielding somewhat to protect Kate who may have lowered immunity depending on treatment. I think this and football match makes it clear that isn't really an issue since he seems to be happy to mill around and have close contact with many people who have certainly not been shielding themselves and would pose an exposure risk.

Like you give a shit! I'm sure they're acting on medical advice and they can't exactly lock themselves indefinitely!

torturedpoet13 · 22/06/2024 16:53

I think it's absolutely lovely ☺️ princess Charlotte looks so happy

Thedom · 22/06/2024 16:53

What fantastic selfies, showbiz royalty meets real royalty. Taylor Swift looks as excited as Charlotte and George. She wished William a happy birthday on her insta, calling him M8, how cool is that.

SummaLuvin · 22/06/2024 16:55

This is a thread on a public forum about public figures and a photo they posted publicly. The level of policing on this thread is ridiculous, the only valid opinions are not yours. Most posters with a negative opinion have said nothing about the kids (beyond they being used for a photo op). Our future head of state should not be beyond reproach just because things are tough. His dad is sick? Well being first in line to throne is sort of defined by needing to setup when your parent dies, falls ill, or is incapacitated. My first comment has 17 thumbs up now, which shows that even if people aren’t saying it, they share the sentiment that William is workshy, a reputation he has been earning for years and doesn’t seem to be moving to change any time soon - whether that reputation is fair or not and that is a problem for the royals.

Please can you quote where I've had a go at young children? The only person I've criticised on this thread is 42 years old, which is hardly a young child.

SummaLuvin · 22/06/2024 14:58

I wonder if this indicates William is ready to crack on with some actual work. He has only done 9 engagements so far in June, according to the Court Circular, yet he has the time/energy/fitness to leverage his position as Prince of Wales to get prime tickets to an England football match and now Taylor Swift (so crowds clearly not an issue with Kates treatment and exposure risk). William is next in line to the throne, when will we demand more of him? It's time for him to step up, the King (who is battling cancer at 70+) is doing more than him. Wheeling his cute kids out for a photo op to make us forget his laziness is becoming wearing.

Couldn’t have put it better myself.

DelectableMe · 22/06/2024 16:56

People having a different opinion is not policing.

Could you please look at the posts where young children are being routinely criticised on the grounds of "republicanism". That's what I was referring to. In a general sense.
