HRH The Princess of Wales Is Being Treated For Cancer

Radio 4 announcing it now.

She is speaking on the radio now and saying that the original statements about it being non-cancerous were accurate but that later tests proved otherwise.

Whether you like the royal family or not it’s awful for them and the children and I as a mum can see why they would want to keep it quiet. Hopefully the ghouls will go back in the boxes.

Heart goes out to her and her family. All this speculation to deal with as well. Hope they have caught it early.

She has been having chemotherapy and wants others experiencing cancer to know that they are not alone.

She adds that the family has needed time to be with their children.

I'm no fan of the royal family and in fact would like to see the institution abolished but I hold the people on here who've been speculating in absolute contempt. You know who and what you are.

Exactly what Iwas going to write!! Am not good at remembering posters names generally but there are certain ones who I do remember. Am not going to name them but they know who they are !!! Hope they are crawling under their rock and stay away from MN for a long time !

I have cancer myself and also lost my mum to cancer when I was 7.
Feel so bad for Kate and her family.
Agree that all those speculators and nasty rumour mongers should be thoroughly ashamed.

Not a bit of it, they won't recognise themselves but it's every single one who clamoured for information they had no right to, every single one who kept the threads going. This board has been hellish and even now, the twats are simply sitting on the threads saying they're 'looking forward to the explanations' from the ones they perceive have been ghouls.

They are ALL ghouls. All of these threads are ghoulish and not going to allow peaceful recovery. Kate has done her bit for cancer awareness but the family needs to be left alone like anybody else's would be.

They probably won't, unfortunately. People like that have no shame or any sense of decency.

It doesn't matter what someone thinks of the royal family as an institution, some of the posts and speculation have been awful. Nobody deserves to be hounded for their medical information to appease gossips.

She has balls of steel making that announcement in person.

She must have known that anything less than that would have just fuelled the conspiracies.

And impressive that they managed to keep it under wraps until end of term.

Isn't it terrible that she actually had to come forward and make a video to put a stop to the nasty comments and speculations made about her and William, how difficult must that have been.

Cancer has affected so many people that I know and a few who sadly didn't make it.

I too have undergone Surgery similar to Kate.Was told originally all gone ,but there may be some still left .Going to discuss Options at next appt. I dont like talking about it ,even to family ATM .Cant imagine how poor Kate must be feeling right now

May she get well soon and be left to recover in private with her family without media intrusion.

Shame on all those who have speculated about her marriage in recent weeks.

Actually I feel incredibly sad for her that she was pushed into doing this by all the gossip, rumours and speculation.
