I hope all the people with their spiteful speculations are hanging their heads in shame.

Hope all the gossips will finally pipe down. She asked for privacy, they hounded her until she had to announce this. How awful people can be.

A very hard time for the family. I’m glad we now know and the guessing games can stop. I am very sad tbh and hadn’t expected this.

She is a brave and gracious lady. Whatever our views on Royalty, she's a wife and mother with a serious illness, and I hope she is now given full privacy to recuperate and recover. Thoughts should also go out to William and the children at this very difficult time.

Yes, there was a lot of speculation wasn’t there? I had no insider knowledge - I just took a punt. I’m glad it’s not about her marriage but this is very serious too. I hope she gets better soon - it sounds like she will be fine but some tough times to go through first with the treatment. I admire her a lot.

I feel so awful for her having to come out and announce it like that. I pray for her and for anyone to have a speedy recovery God willing.

She's done the right thing by her children. She's a strong woman to have withstood all the bullshit that has flown her way while she was so ill.

I have a lot of time for Kate & thought the video was done with a great deal of dignity.

That was a very admirable way for her to announce. She has my respect and I wish her well. Poor woman.

It’s not me, it was all over the Internet. Honestly, there was some really wild and bizarre stuff out there too. The speculation can be put to bed now and hopefully she makes a full recovery and her privacy is respected.

I feel so sad that she has basically been bullied into making a public statement about this.

I hope the tin foil hat knobs/ conspiracy theorists/ gutter press are thoroughly ashamed of all the ridiculous speculation there has been over her illness but probably not

She did not owe anyone an explanation. Her poor young children- I hope the Wales' have managed to shield them from all this nonsense and managed to reassure them that their mum will be ok.
