Part 4 of a nice, unproblematic thread to discuss some of the fab outfits from the Duchess of Sussex, and some of the many great causes she (and Harry) and Archewell supports.

Now that is disappointing.

It seems to be do as we say and not as we do.

Shame.

As per usual!

JaneJeffer · 24/04/2024 23:47

This popped up on my Instagram. They seem to have lots of info and videos for any H&M fans

Jeez, Chrissy Teigan one of the worst celebrity online bullying trolls ever, what next !

Now that is hard to believe !!

CC49 · 25/04/2024 05:22

Aren't Chrissy and Meghan old friends from the briefcase game show?

Olderthanthetrees · 25/04/2024 07:17

Runnerinthenight · 24/04/2024 23:04

She can't move on is the issue! Still hellbent on getting revenge on the Royal Family for a perceived or entirely invented slight. Andrew is totally irrelevant when discussing Meghan and Harry.

So, if you would be happy for your family members to dish the dirt on your family to make money, to disrespect elderly much-loved dying members of your family, to constantly embarrass your family with her and her husband's behaviour, then knock yourself out. I don't hate them. They're not worth that amount of energy.

Her views on everything change with the wind. She (and he) can't stick at anything. She may have "a background of working hard for a living" (recollections may vary!) but she sure as hell isn't doing it now!

And have you forgotten the thread after thread - where's Kate, is Willy beating her, is she in a coma, yada yada yada. Total double standards.

Well, respectfully, we’ll have to agree to differ.

None of us know for sure what happened between her and the RF unless we were there. I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt. Especially when they are the underdog and up against the establishment, and most of the British and global press. It seems like an unfair fight.

Meghan is getting on with her life. She’s a mother of small dc. Given that she is relatively young woman, she has to do something with her time, and so it’s obvious she is going to be involved in both commercial and charitable ventures as she was before her marriage, so it seems rather unreasonable to me that so many people are hell bent on analysing and criticising her every action endlessly, from the clothes she is wearing, to the jam she is producing, to the writing on the label on the jam she is producing.

Call me old-fashioned but that’s what I think about it. Seriously, you may not like her actions when she was in uk, but she’s gone now. Seriously, does everyone on this thread expect her to sit in her kitchen on Montecito and not leave the house for the rest of her life?

Just a different perspective!

myrtleWilson · 25/04/2024 07:24

Chrissy T, ? She of the dodgy tweets and online bullying of a teenager. Interesting collab.

EdithWeston · 25/04/2024 08:27

Have you actually RTFT? The pages and pages of positivity?

Or noted that its part 4 of the "out and about" thread

And yet you still think "everyone on this thread" wants her at home doing nothing?

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 25/04/2024 08:30

The underdog? How many underdogs get feted and given massive and lucrative platforms to spew whatever they want by Oprah, Netflix, Spotify and Penguin Random House. How many underdogs have the Biden administration watching their back when it is alleged they have broken the law? How many other underdogs rub shoulders with the Kennedys and the Steinhams and the Travoltas of this world, and get given awards for things they haven’t done? How many underdogs have an absolute army of viscous online supporters who have been able to dictate the narrative to the media to go against their (perceived) “enemies”. Underdog? Give me strength.

MaturingCheeseball · 25/04/2024 09:14

I must admit I’m lost… is Meghan’s aim to position herself in the reality-show gang? With Kardashians and influencers?

Even if you think H&M made a great escape from a stuffy old royal family in the UK, then given all their keenness to hold onto the titles etc, you’d have thought they might have been cosying up to US royalty, eg Kennedys, not sniffing round downmarket and real housewife types.

ArcaneWireless · 25/04/2024 09:18

It does seem odd.

MaturingCheeseball · 25/04/2024 09:21

Kris Jenner with the latest jam Shock

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 25/04/2024 09:23

They have now engaged two massive bullies. Teigan is notorious for the online bullying of a vulnerable teenager, and ask the Swifties what they think of the bullying the Kardashians have meted out to Taylor. How does that square with their “philanthropy” and “advocacy” in respect of online/media harm against kids?

Kris Jenner with the latest jam Shock

A woman who helped launch her daughter’s dubious brand with a sex tape. And who brags about her friendship with PDiddy. What the fuck are they thinking?

Crikey. I think all of the above is a bit of a stretch.

I've tried to put my argument in a civil way. That's all I can do.

No, I haven't read pages and pages of positivity as it happens.

Perhaps because I am busy working?

Every time I pop on this thread it seems to be full of negativity but I will leave it there.

Edited to say: I like to put an alternative viewpoint from time to time. I trust that's ok?

Well, when you do have a moment, start at the beginning of the thread, or use "see all" and read all the OP's posts, and you'll easily find it

It really is all a bit messy. Is the message then that past indiscretions can be forgiven? That people live and learn to do better? As you mention Taylor Swift she is also one who bullies. Her latest album and previous ones with songs about her previous boyfriends are bullying too. The Swifties and the Sussex Squad are on a par. Randoms who adopt the cause of some public figure they only know from afar. Sadly the internet has allowed every village idiot to go global. Or is it just about marketing jam and when the $$$ are up for grabs principles fly out the window?

Serenster · 25/04/2024 12:05

AnnieSF · 25/04/2024 00:20

Now that is hard to believe !!

Absolutely true, though. She sent some awful tweets calling women in the public eye (one of them, child actress Quvenzhané Wallis was only 10 at the time) fairly unpleasant things. And later apologised profusely for her actions. She’s worked hard to position herself as a “wholesome yet glamourous Mom” with a cooking and kitchenware empire (while she flies everywhere by private jet), but she still could be said to be a bit controversial.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 25/04/2024 12:29

She’s said some very weird, sexual stuff about children on Twitter. Wholesome she is not.

Oh come on, we know quite a lot. They lied through their teeth - that's been proven, even in a court of law!

She may be gone but their actions still reflect on the RF. Harry remains a Prince of the United Kingdom. Their antics are widely publicised. They haven't gone off to live a quiet life unobtrusively! And put yourself out there - expect to be criticised.

I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt too in general, but there is no doubt in this case.

She has certainly divested herself of any lofty principles here! I don't think she has any actually, just talks the talk!

Of course, but don't expect not to be challenged on it if it's not correct.

Alternative viewpoints are not the same as alternative facts.
