Part 4 of a nice, unproblematic thread to discuss some of the fab outfits from the Duchess of Sussex, and some of the many great causes she (and Harry) and Archewell supports.

I am not a member of the SS or a rabid supporter of Meghan but It’s more than evident now that whatever photograph she is in, whatever product she sells, people will analyse in detail and criticise negatively.

Personally, I think this is sad , and it must be horrible for her to have people constantly nit-picking and attributing negative opinions and motives to every single thing she does.

And in doing so, they follow the lead of the Daily Mail. What a great example to follow! 😃

Some people almost seem to take it as a personal affront that she has rejected life as a British royal and sought happiness elsewhere with her dh and young dc and yet she is perfectly entitled to do so. Honestly, murderers attract less opprobrium.

And to those calling her a grifter; I think that’s unfair as she did pretty well for herself before she was married. In fact she is the only royal
wife who actually had any sort of proper career to leave before marrying in!

It wasn’t that she rejected life as a British Royal rather she rejected the protocols and traditions. She ( and Harry ) wanted to do things differently , progressively I think was the word used , but still cling in to the glamorous side of Royal life ( gorgeous clothes , jewellery , luxury travel and , of course, 24/7 security. The Kate Queen said no . Had she agreed I doubt if we would have heard a fraction of the whinging!

BoohooWoohoo · 23/04/2024 14:34

The Daily Mail analyse all Sussex photos because they are a clickbait goldmine and worth the risk of future lawsuits and payouts.

The Sussexes are in an abusive relationship with the tabloids. Without them nobody would know about stuff like ARO and they will be the ones who will end up buying and reviewing the products once they launch to an audience far larger than a typical influencer.

If people stopped clicking on Sussex content then the quantity of coverage would decrease but it’s a combination of the tabloids and people online who keep them “relevant” as clickbait

Sophie had a career in PR before she married.

So they're launching a business and giving tasters to influencers and contacts/friends but they don't want people talking about the brand?

That makes no sense at all!

Ditto all the polo photographs - do they want us to be interested (and idc watch them on Netflix) or not? Should this thread - that's all about commenting on her activities and her clothes when she's out and about - not exist?
That would be a shame - there's a lot of positive comment, especially in the first part of the thread.

Experience is a great teacher, and it's become clear that everything around MM is fake, contrived, purposeful and self-serving. She has no credibility.

IsoldeWagner · 23/04/2024 15:37

@Olderthanthetrees she didn't reject royal life. She didn't leave to find happiness.
They're still royal and making sure everyone knows that, with the titles and the wealth and the privilege. They left to monetise their royal connections. To not fit in with the institution, but profit from it while slagging the family off. Not nice.
Oh, and I haven't formed these opinions by reading the Daily Mail. I'm quite capable of forming my own opinions based on the words actions and behaviour of the people concerned.
Which brings me to Sophie. Yes, she made a mistake. She never blamed others, she never played the victim. She just knuckled down, supported the royal family and promoted unpopular causes such as rape and violence against women.
Meghan could learn from that. But she won't.

Well being purposeful is not a crime for a start.

And I suppose whether you arrive at that conclusion or not depends on your interpretation of events.

I don’t know her, and I don’t know what actually happened, so I prefer to reserve judgement.

IsoldeWagner · 23/04/2024 15:56

....and their interpretation of events does not stand up to scrutiny.

Was it the gappy front, gappy back, gappy armholes, see through skirt, easy crease fabric or the massive bow plus long hair mess you were looking for? 😍 So we can help you look?

Ouch!

ArcaneWireless · 23/04/2024 17:48

This little nugget from @Runnerinthenight bears repeating when pondering whether to reserve one’s judgement I feel…

Has anyone ever saw someone rolling about the garden in their ballgown and thought I'm going g to buy their jam?

Well you must have been under a rock, because it's there for the world to see what Harry and Meghan have done, in their own words!

I probably used the wrong word when I said "purposeful". I should have said 'ruthless'.

MaturingCheeseball · 23/04/2024 18:56

The DM articles are mostly behind a paywall now so a new insult needs to be thrown. “Tattle-looker” maybe… or “Lady C lover” (I looked at Lady C once - she knows about as much as I do - ie not much!)

SqueakyDinosaur · 23/04/2024 22:11

No, to read the DM+ articles you just need to put the link into archive dot is and then delete any nonsense beyond the html bit.

I haven’t been living under a rock. I just happen to disagree!

Meghan is a Californian actress. It would be very odd indeed if her mindset regarding charity work and philanthropy matched with that of the British Royal Family. Similarly her views about race and feminism.

Live and let live I say. The world is a large place!

And frankly thread after thread picking her apart is getting unpleasant. Some of you may not like some of the things she has done, and you may be justified in that, but she hasn’t been exploiting young members of the opposite sex like Andrew has allegedly been doing, she’s not a criminal, she has a background of working hard for a living. All this hatred is bordering on disturbing imho. Can’t we move on?

Looks like Meghan sent a jar of jam to Chrissy Tiegen, who spent years telling a teenager to kill herself.

Colour me surprised 🙄
Birds of a feather ….

She can't move on is the issue! Still hellbent on getting revenge on the Royal Family for a perceived or entirely invented slight. Andrew is totally irrelevant when discussing Meghan and Harry.

So, if you would be happy for your family members to dish the dirt on your family to make money, to disrespect elderly much-loved dying members of your family, to constantly embarrass your family with her and her husband's behaviour, then knock yourself out. I don't hate them. They're not worth that amount of energy.

Her views on everything change with the wind. She (and he) can't stick at anything. She may have "a background of working hard for a living" (recollections may vary!) but she sure as hell isn't doing it now!

And have you forgotten the thread after thread - where's Kate, is Willy beating her, is she in a coma, yada yada yada. Total double standards.

So much for online bullying.... again...!!!

ArcaneWireless · 24/04/2024 23:10

Now that is disappointing.

It seems to be do as we say and not as we do.

Shame.

JaneJeffer · 24/04/2024 23:17

Chrissy Tiegen used to post really weird things about her children which gave me the creeps but someone on MN told me I was being unreasonable about that.

This doesn't happen in Ireland yet. We can read everything. My DC's say I shouldn't be allowed on there because I keep telling them stories about young people falling off things abroad or drinking coffee full of flies and getting anaphylactic shock as a result 😬

themessygarden · 24/04/2024 23:27

Jeez, Chrissy Teigan one of the worst celebrity online bullying trolls ever, what next !
