Part 4 of a nice, unproblematic thread to discuss some of the fab outfits from the Duchess of Sussex, and some of the many great causes she (and Harry) and Archewell supports.

.... not strictly speaking Meg or Harry out and about or one of their causes, but as a cheesecake fan I couldn't resist investigating some of Meg's recipes and landed on this: beet cheesecake!

Store-bought cheesecakes are often too heavy and/or sweet, so I'm going to try this one.

I suspect we'll need another positive thread to cover the recipes when they start coming out!... 😋

This is actually the best cheesecake I’ve ever had. And I converted to gluten free with coconut flour.

Very easy, also.

Basque Burnt Cheesecake

This is the light, fluffy, cloudlike cheesecake that wants to get burnt, cracked, and cooked at high heat. Which also means this is the cheesecake that’s impossible to mess up.

Classic! 😋

AliceOlive · 16/03/2024 12:27

I love love love fondue.
Hard to find kirsch so I have to make do
Used to eat it alone, over the stove
Married now so that’s a no go

ArcaneWireless · 16/03/2024 12:30

I look forward to a recipe book full of Meghan’s recipes rather than recommended recipes.

jeffgoldblum · 16/03/2024 12:31

God !! I love cheese! 🧀, all cheese, all recipes!

Will check the Cheesecake Cottage next time I’m there for a beet based cheesecake though.

Oh gosh tread carefully and don't stray too far from the washroom!😅

I bought an electric fondue maker in Aldi or Lidl last year and we often have fondue substituting kirsch with brandy, more white wine or cognac!
The fondue maker is brilliant and it cost tiddly squat
I've been pigging out on fondue for decades!

AliceOlive · 16/03/2024 12:40

Scrolling The Tig now. Thanks TS. These are beautiful and a nice alternative to cheese.

I have an electric one, one that uses fuel and a mid-century one that is just pretty.

However, when I’m alone, the stove top double boiler is perfect.

ChVrches · 16/03/2024 12:46

Cheese? Pah! Give me a chocolate fondue anyway!

I always thought Meghan was a vegan for some reason.

@SheriffofRottingham have you had Vacherin? It’s the traditional cheese they make from alpine pastured cows over the winter months when they come down from the mountains and there’s not enough milk to make Comte. It’s my favourite cheese - sadly the manufacturing season has just finished, but you should still be able to buy it until May.

jeffgoldblum · 16/03/2024 13:26

Wow!!! @Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar that sounds really interesting!
I'd love to know more about it?
However I will google, so as not to clog the thread!
