Part 4 of a nice, unproblematic thread to discuss some of the fab outfits from the Duchess of Sussex, and some of the many great causes she (and Harry) and Archewell supports.

I have an electric one, one that uses fuel and a mid-century one that is just pretty.

However, when I’m alone, the stove top double boiler is perfect.

It dawns on me that that came across as one upmanship! I just meant I’m a bit obsessed.

No worries! One of my wedding presents decades ago was a very upmarket fondue set with a gel thingy that you lit to heat the cheese, it was the Rolls Royce of fondues back in the 80s !

Wow!!! @Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar that sounds really interesting!
I'd love to know more about it?
However I will google, so as not to clog the thread!

It's divine. Good wine and naice crackers a must. Waitrose sell it.

.... not strictly speaking Meg or Harry out and about or one of their causes, but as a cheesecake fan I couldn't resist investigating some of Meg's recipes and landed on this: beet cheesecake!

Store-bought cheesecakes are often too heavy and/or sweet, so I'm going to try this one.

I suspect we'll need another positive thread to cover the recipes when they start coming out!... 😋

I’m not a fan of baked cheesecakes. It’s more an American thing isn’t it? Thanks for the link about The Tig. I thought it was defunct so I shall enjoy reading through the various pages. I am also looking forward to Meghan’s new IG and website. Whatever people’s views, IMHO I like her taste.

I don't think baked cheesecake is particularly a US thing - I'd say most of the baked recipes originate in Eastern European cooking, especially Jewish cooking. And things like Yorkshire curd tarts are also obviously related - and the Basque one mentioned above is from, er, the Pays-Basque.

Here's an English recipe from 1783 for a (delicious) baked cheesecake:

I make the most amazing baked cheesecake recipe from Rick Stein's Spain cookbook.

Would you mind posting a link to it please?

Hi all, politely please take your cheese discussions and recipes back to your cheese thread, rather than attempting to derail this one?

Thank you

There is no cheese thread now , and I assumed as the topic was introduced by @TallerSally , that it was in fact now acceptable.

Ah , the thread police have arrived !

skullbabe · 16/03/2024 16:26

Are you sure about that?

jeffgoldblum · 16/03/2024 16:29

Yes the cheese thread in the royal family topic was invaded then taken down!!!

That's a shame for you guys. Tallers post seemed directly related to Meghan, the others less so. Again, politely asking for you all to keep it to the thread topic rather than continuing to derail about cheese and cheese recipes.

Yes greendress, if you have a problem with me pointing out the derailing, then please feel free to report me to MNHQ. I have no problem with that.

Indeed it ain't! - please let's keep this a positive thread focused on M&H's activities and outfits, exactly as described in the OP.

Not sure what happened to the cheese thread PART 2 million as I never read it, but if anyone's missing it, I'm sure you don't need telling what to do?

Anyhoooo...
