Part 4 of a nice, unproblematic thread to discuss some of the fab outfits from the Duchess of Sussex, and some of the many great causes she (and Harry) and Archewell supports.

They could copy the pigeon dress for Primarkle.

skullbabe · 15/03/2024 19:39

Ok. You don’t like it nor do you agree with it. There are plenty of other threads for you to discuss your dislike of her potential foray into jam. This isn’t it.

Hope that helps.

It does, thank you.

Back to the thread - I really love Joy’s hair. It also seems she missed the oversized suit memo that everyone else seemed to have - that red jacket is well tailored..

ArcaneWireless · 15/03/2024 18:51

The collaboration could be Primarkle @IsoldeWagner

Fabulous! So many good ideas being suggested on these threads. If they embraced a sense of humour it really could be quite lucrative but I doubt that will happen any time soon

I think there'll be a solid market for essentially US versions of Duchy of Cornwall-style products in California and elsewhere. Meghan has a track record of cooking projects dating back to before she became a royal, during that phase and since then, so it's on brand.

These things go well together with a TV show - Joanna Gaines/Fixer-upper style. Could be a good Netflix cooking show.

One thing's clearly, Meghan's no lazybones.

And as to all the bonkers speculation that her and Harry were on their knees begging the RF to allow them to return to live in the UK, it's been the funniest ludicrous nonsense I've read in years!

Obv, Meghan was desperate to call her brand Weston-Super-Mare Speciality Fish'n'Chips, but the trademark was already taken.

Very odd post ! Very peculiar reference!
I'm surprised you have even heard of Weston -super -mare !
Whose claim to fame has never ever been fish and chips!
It's only locally known for the enduro and the radio one roadshow and being the backdrop for remains of the day!
🤣

AliceOlive · 15/03/2024 20:18

Gosh, I caught that and flagged it. It made me uncomfortable as I have a bit of a good memory. Only heard of the place once before and that was right here, but in another thread.

AliceOlive · 15/03/2024 20:18

Was kind of hoping no one else would notice it.

StickyWickets · 15/03/2024 20:22

I only know Weston-Super-Mare for the quick sand!

What?

William received £6 million from the duchy since the Queen died. Next year that is due to rise to £30 million

Anything given to charity is the bona vacantia, proceeds from people who died intestate in Cornwall with no traceable relatives

A bit of a very basic view of the Duchy of Cornwall.

The Duchy funds the public, charitable and private activities of the Royal family.

Income tax is paid at the usual rates.

The Duchy supports 600 residential and 700 agricultural tenancies including over 480 which are affordable housing.

The Duchy also provides employment for over 2000 people.

Lots more including the ownership and maintenance of around 14,000 acres of land and a few castles, including Tintagel, if you cba to google.

I would legit buy something from a Primarkle range. Cheap towels maybe.

I was thinking of those plastic storage boxes - they're so useful, she could shift loads of those.

StickyWickets · 15/03/2024 20:55

I love a storage box! Very handy!

Not really unless American Riviera Orchard is a fundraising venture where profits go to Archewell?

Twas me @AliceOlive ! I made mention of growing up there! 🤣

AutumnCrow · 15/03/2024 21:47

How's it pronounced locally?

Weston supa máree?

ArcaneWireless · 15/03/2024 21:47

Meecrowaveee stylee?

ChVrches · 15/03/2024 23:47

It sounds ass if Archewell certainly needs some input.

jeffgoldblum · 16/03/2024 00:25

It's mare as in lady horse !!! 🤣🤣🤣

I CBA to Google

Where does the £30m payout come into this?

I have relatives in this neck of the woods, they are not enamoured I can tell you

It is also a positive thread.

There are several negative threads in which you can be negative to your hearts content. There’s currently one about Meghan being being bitter which might suit you better.

skullbabe · 16/03/2024 04:07

I do find it odd that in a thread where it is fairly obvious what the ethos is that so many people come to be contrary and negative. Many of you here who have come to be expressly negative have spaces where you are able to coalesce without having any of us on this positive towards Meghan thread come onto those threads to derail. So why are you actually here?

There are threads talking about the Instagram launch, there are threads talking about the name of the company, there are threads talking about the NAACP award being an attempt to highjack the Diana awards, there is a thread where someone is helpfully suggesting items that Meghan might sell. Why come here? Most of you appear to be intelligent people with situational awareness who can read a room.

It’s like if we were talking about pears and people insisted on talking about apples, and how much they didn’t like pears, and how plums actually were a better fruit, and how poached pears weren’t actually that pleasant to eat, and how apple crumble is a better pudding than pear crumble, and actually why would anybody eat fruit anyway, and aren’t you wierd for wanting to talk about pears only - what about lychees don’t topics wander?

So strange.

skullbabe · 16/03/2024 05:36

Anyway back to it - Claudia said she was happy for John to post her birthday pictures (with her face in them). Apparently the cake had a strawberry filling.

Still can’t find those shoes. 😡🤣

Indeed @skullbabe

It's like me continually posting on The Tack Room threads about how much I hate horses, why don't you riders dislike them, they're awful creatures ugh

Nice pics!

We are not allowed to mention other threads or I’d explain what I think happened exactly.

It’s not a rule equally enforced, obviously or this above would not be allowed to stand.

I’ve always posted positively in this series of threads.
