(or for the MN purists, Catherine) The most high profile and popular member of royal family has not been seen since Christmas. I do think it's quite strange and so many rumours from the foreign press. And before anyone starts jumping down my throat about her having hysterectomy / crohns / ad infimum / I've had both a hysterotomy and half my intestine removed and was back in work within a 8 weeks.

Does anyone care I don’t know where the average person is

Recovering from surgery

She’s recovering from abdominal surgery 6 weeks ago, surprised you missed it op.

Actually if you have 8 weeks off gfor a hysterectomy then 8 weeks takes you to the Easter Holidays. They have weeks off every holiday, so she most likely had surgery and is putting her feet up. She doesn't have to do anything she doesn't want to do, including the school run. If she doesn't do it, William can pretend he's ' juggling looking after the kids with getting cups of tea for Kate, and running the hoover round, because they have no live in staff, don't you know? and get out of working himself ( unless it's football or movie related)

The Middleton’s are all about affluent middle class perks & the lifestyle, activity filled resort holidays in Exotic places, and a fun & normal albeit wealthy lifestyle with the freedom and flexibility of being comfortable entrepreneurs.

And what a relief they can still do all that even after walking away from their multi million pound debts.

Coldmealsadness · 03/03/2024 11:12

And she's Catherine, not Kate, as she hates being called Kate.
🤣

WitsEnd10 · 03/03/2024 11:13

I mentioned on a previous thread that rumour has it she’s had a stoma due to gastric issues, which fits timeline wise and with certain previous speculations. It can take months to get to grips with one, with changing and maintaining bags, dealing with leaks, relearning everything you thought you knew about your bodily functions. I can’t even begin to imagine having to do all this in the public eye. Having to dress to hide or minimise it if she wishes to (not that she should be ashamed or embarrassed but it’s a deeply personal thing, and let’s face it, we DO get embarrassed talking about poo!), having to hope that it won’t leak whilst on an engagement, the noises they can make. They can lead to dehydration and vitamin deficiencies, her whole diet may have had to change. Depending on how complicated the surgery was she may still be physically recovering, and it can really disturb your sleep initially as you’re very conscious of the bag and the potential for leaks in bed.

I speak from personal experience on this. If that’s the case, I’m not surprised at all that she’s expected not to return until Easter. I’m only surprised it’s not longer in her case.

It's a discussion site. People challenging the speculation rumours, conspiracy theories are not shutting down free speech. Those posts still stand, even the somewhat outlandish claims, people are critical, people have made several threads about it. It's perfectly valid to challenge these points.

I think it’s the way the media are covering the story that is so strange.
They’re making no effort to normalise the situation - I know they don’t want to take photos of the kids or family going about their daily lives but it would be fairly easy to just have a quote from e.g. Carole or Pippa saying something like ‘just been to see Catherine and she’s doing well’ etc?

Agree. Maybe they know more and are frustrated they can't print?

Nono22972 · 03/03/2024 11:38

Whether you like the royals or not, I think a lot of the speculations have been extremely reckless and dangerous.

I also don't understand why the media keep insisting that she "disappeared" when KP already released 2 statements saying that she's recovering and will come back at the end of March. Just shut up and wait

I think people, who don't follow the RF regularly, realise that we rarely see Kate, William or the kids when they're not carrying out public engagements. We don't see paparazzi photos of them, nothing. I've criticised them a lot over the years but one thing I'll always give them props for is how they managed to maintain their children's privacy. We see the kids 5-6 times a year, at most. Other than that, we never see them. Compare that to some of the other royal kids around Europe who are already carrying out a lot more engagements before they even hit 10. The Wales kids seem to live a pretty "normal" life.

Most of the people who keep pushing this "Where is Kate" story don't truly care about Kate, let's be real. They either care about gossip or hate the RF that they deep down want something to happen to Kate so that they can have their haha moment and make William, Charles,... the villains

Social media and the media are trying to bait KP into releasing more informations and I hope they don't cave under pressure. We already know that if they were to release a photo or a video, the same people pretending to care so much would overanalyze every angle, trying to find something wrong.

my friends relative was in the same hospital at the same time, the rumours about a stoma are true I have been told

That sounds like a Sir Humphrey statement - it's true there are rumours....

Valla · 03/03/2024 11:43

I’m genuinely curious why people can’t accept the serious abdo surgery explanation?

Bigtrip2026 · 03/03/2024 11:44

No one else's business. Leave her in peace.

the relative shared this information to my friend whilst she was actually in hospital so really before the rumours have gone into overdrive.

Given she will have been in a private room, not on a ward, same as your friend’s relative, and the medical staff will take their duties of confidentiality very seriously, I think the odds of them gossiping to other patients is highly unlikely.

thebabessavedme · 03/03/2024 11:50

Nah, she bought her lizard tail in a door and its taking a while to grow back.

Oh abd of the 14days 7 of those werw spent in intensive care. I had no choice but to just "get on with things" once i was discharged. Yes i hurt but im very independant and had zero support from husband.

Congratulations 🙄

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 03/03/2024 11:53

Must say I find all this intrusive nosiness very distasteful.

AlbertoDilemma · 03/03/2024 11:55

Why don't the anti online bullying campaigners, the Sussexes, and man who specifically keeps claiming to love his family (despite evidence to the contrary), Prince Harry, issue a statement asking their supporters to stop this unprecedented haranguing of a sick/recovering woman and her family?

Why? They are semi public property, they have their privacy and are maintaining it. The peasants can gossip all day at the guillotine if they want.

Because they're not speaking, he's in a different country and he'll be roundly criticised for any intervention?

AlbertoDilemma · 03/03/2024 11:57

The, "I had to gnaw my own broken leg off and be back at work down the coalmine the same afternoon" brigade are getting pretty tiresome. Why can't they just accept that everyone has different circumstances?

Ok then, humour me. Why is it?
