The reports were that it was abdominal surgery and it sounded quite major. Wouldn’t be surprising if she wasn’t up to driving for a couple of months when you think about the muscles and movements involved in controlling a car.

She's had surgery. She can take as much time off as she likes. It's not as though she'll run out of sick pay or have to attend an HR meeting like many of us would have to do. She's very lucky to be able to take this amount of time off to recover. If it was me I'd have about 3 more weeks to get back on my feet before I had to get back to be able to pay my bills. And hope to god I have no more illnesses in the next 2 rolling years whilst my sick pay resets.

Kate has none of these considerations so she's taking the time because she can.
Nothing more sinister than that.

@Hughs . I couldn't agree more. This has been awful, and some claims utterly ridiculous.
I don't think there's any more to be said about the "objectively plausible" facial expression= divorce.

Also, there is a serious debate to be had about royalty, republicanism and the role of the head of state. Jumping on nonsense like this will not further the cause.
