The royal family

Okay , I'm just going to say it... where is Kate Middleton?

(or for the MN purists, Catherine) The most high profile and popular member of royal family has not been seen since Christmas. I do think it's quite strange and so many rumours from the foreign press. And before anyone starts jumping down my throat about her having hysterectomy / crohns / ad infimum / I've had both a hysterotomy and half my intestine removed and was back in work within a 8 weeks.

It doesn't need to do either of a or b. What is would do is to demonstrate that he does not simply give lip service to online bullying - together with his efforts to restrict free speech - when it affects him only, or someone he can use to further his own agenda.

I don’t think Harry should make everything about him, and I think making statements on Kate’s health, when Kensington Palace is remaining tight-lipped and everyone knows they aren’t close, would be rightly criticised. He also tried telling the press to back off making racist comments about Meghan, and that blew up in his face didn’t it? So him telling the press to stop speculating about Kate’s health is likely to add fuel to the fire, not quieten it down.

I often think Harry makes unforced errors with the media (the Oprah interview, Spare, all of it). For once, Harry is doing exactly the right thing staying out of this, and people encouraging him to make more public pronouncements are just looking to stir up more Harry and Meghan drama again, just when it had all gone quiet for a bit.

Her name isn't Kate Middleton. She is the Princess of Wales. No surname, she has a royal title.
Overcome with nosiness about her private medical issues but you can't even get her name right.

I find it extraordinary the way she's continuously referred to as Kate Middleton (as per Meghan Markle). Strange that the people who are always writing and thinking about her, I assume fairly royalist, don't give her her proper title.

I demand to know every detail about Catherine’s medical progress. After all I pay £2.50 for the privilege

I think a video of the surgical procedure should be available on tiktok. None of this privacy nonsense.

Saschka · 03/03/2024 12:21

The Twitter nutcases who want to believe William has pushed Kate down the stairs or murdered her or whatever are not going to shut up about it just because Harry says she’s fine - it will be seen as further proof of William’s villainy that he’s pressured Harry into covering for him.

upinaballoon · 03/03/2024 12:23

A lot of posters have pointed out that when Catherine comes out again (with cover-up stuff on the bruises?) she will have to be looking as smart as she usually does. I just have this idea that I wish she will turn up at her first event with hair, earrings, shoes, jacket all in the usual smart style and a pair of outsize tracky bottoms below the jacket.

Nope. I would gladly never hear from them again. They are a pair of self righteous hypocrites, who have a dangerous agenda to attack free speech. They also speak from both sides of their ever willing to talk shit mouths. And their silence in the face of the very thing they campaign about and monetise is incredibly telling. My original question of "why don't they..." was rhetorical really. It's obvious why they won't, and maintaining a dignified silence is not it.

I don't find it odd at all. Generally we don't refer to anyone by their title so it feels weird for most of us to sound so obsequious in general conversation. And her actual surname is unclear. Is she Catherine Windsor. Mountbatten-Windsor? Still Middleton because gaining title doesn't change her surname?

Don't know, don't care. Kate Middleton is perfectly clear as to who is being discussed.

Seriously this is insane, how can anyone have such hatred for strangers?!

underthebun · 03/03/2024 12:31

I find it extraordinary the way she's continuously referred to as Kate Middleton (as per Meghan Markle).

You find this extraordinarily. What a low bar!

underthebun · 03/03/2024 12:31

Extraordinary even!

AlbertoDilemma · 03/03/2024 12:36

I'll take that as a personal attack, @underthebun . Having a different opinion to you is not insanity. Not liking (at no point have I said hatred) strangers whose lives and nefarious works are laid out for all to see, and who are seeking a foothold in US politics and the policies of big tech, is speaking from a place of having looked into them on a deeper level than their frivolous coverage in the tabloids.

AlbertoDilemma · 03/03/2024 12:38

BTW, @underthebun by your logic, you can never dislike a politician, murderer, tabloid hack or any number of other people in the world who make it a worse place, simply because you don't know them.

underthebun · 03/03/2024 12:40

I'll take that as a personal attack

I bet you do!

Having a different opinion to you is not insanity.

Who said I liked them? Who said a different opinion was insanity?

Read your post back to yourself & remember you are talking about strangers you have never met, that's the insane bit...

whose lives and nefarious works are laid out for all to see, and who are seeking a foothold in US politics and the policies of big tech, is speaking from a place of having looked into them on a deeper level than their frivolous coverage in the tabloids.

😆

There is always one.

I dislike lots of politicians, I don't look into them on a deeper level & hate them. I wouldn't equate Harry with a murderer though

And the Princess of Wales is also perfectly clear as to who is being discussed. And she did change her name on marriage. The King's quite short to say....can you advise what I should say so I don't sound obsequious? People can call her what they like but who are "we" and "most of us" anyway. I don't think most people go around worrying about sounding obsequious.

You need a new hobby.

Wonder if they have Netflix?

Look out everyone, we have a Royals scholar over here.

I haven't equated him with a murderer. I have used examples of people you don't personally know and who you would dislike upon learning about them.

And once again, you use the word hatred, not me.

Whether you like the royals or not, I think a lot of the speculations have been extremely reckless and dangerous.

I also don't understand why the media keep insisting that she "disappeared" when KP already released 2 statements saying that she's recovering and will come back at the end of March. Just shut up and wait

I think people, who don't follow the RF regularly, realise that we rarely see Kate, William or the kids when they're not carrying out public engagements. We don't see paparazzi photos of them, nothing. I've criticised them a lot over the years but one thing I'll always give them props for is how they managed to maintain their children's privacy. We see the kids 5-6 times a year, at most. Other than that, we never see them. Compare that to some of the other royal kids around Europe who are already carrying out a lot more engagements before they even hit 10. The Wales kids seem to live a pretty "normal" life.

Most of the people who keep pushing this "Where is Kate" story don't truly care about Kate, let's be real. They either care about gossip or hate the RF that they deep down want something to happen to Kate so that they can have their haha moment and make William, Charles,... the villains

Social media and the media are trying to bait KP into releasing more informations and I hope they don't cave under pressure. We already know that if they were to release a photo or a video, the same people pretending to care so much would overanalyze every angle, trying to find something wrong.

Well said x

@AlbertoDilemma I think your level of dislike comes across as hatred clearly but crack on!
