If she already owned them is there an issue? Does cutting back mean we get rid of everything we already own?

My earrings are worth £1K and we're a special present from my dad. Anyone telling me not to wear a beautiful gift because of the CoL can just do one.

By the same token, no one can celebrate Christmas, buy presents, put up expensive decorations etc because we are all feeling the pinch.

£1k is slightly different to £5k plus presumably you aren't in the Public eye so no one would have any idea of the cost.

@lollipoprainbow How does being in the public eye make a difference? She owns or borrows them. It's her job to look nice. It's simply disingenuous to say 'being in the public eye' is a discriminator. You either own and wear nice things or you don't. Her expensive earrings make fuck all difference to the cost of living issue.

Having said that about 25% of the job of being royal is wearing priceless jewellery.

I mean FFS, pretending they aren't royals is a bit disingenuous. I'd rather a bright glitzy photo in velvet dresses & black tie next the BP Christmas tree. If you've got it, flaunt it!!
