cant work out what I think about this. They all look lovely, match, but it’s not very festive. Bit drab- colour would have been better.

Those are Louis’ feet. He is wearing shorts and trainers like Charlotte. So you can see William’s right leg (trousered), then in front of that Louis’ two bare shins and feet and then the chair legs. No rogue limbs!

They can't do right for doing wrong.

Maybe they thought that too much glitz and obvious wealth would be inappropriate when so many of us are suffering from the COL

Also, a 'yay partay' vibe might also be considered inappropriate with the wars that are going on atm

I actually think the B & W look is a nod to all the crap out there

I'm no royalist but jeez Harry, Meghan and Scoobie Doo have really ratcheted up the angst lately - maybe the Waleses feel a bit B and W?

Hope they're all ok. Can't be easy to have such personal attacks coming from your own family on what seems like a constant basis!

The photographer, Josh Shinner, has published his preliminary sketch for the composition. Interesting to see how it changed - maybe Charlotte and Louis refused to share the chair! Anyway, the amount of space around them was clearly always his intention.

I see it now! I thought Williams shoe tip was Louis’ (matching George’s).
Something still looks odd about that area though. The gap between Louis and Charlotte, shouldn’t Williams leg be there? Might just be the way he’s standing, and his other leg is behind the chair leg

I preferred the countryside, outdoorsy ones. They were happier. This one looks so stuffy and formal.

It looks far from stuffy and formal....they all look relaxed and happy in smart-casual clothes.

They look like an over entitled family with the little people fawning over them. I'm sure they don't give a stuff about what any on mumsnet think of them. On a side note what have Harry and Meghan got to do with this picture. Some people on here are over obsessed.

Even if you were, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a b&w family photo, and believe it or not, many people use b&w all the time for photos.

A photo taken at home with their mobile and festive decor super imposed using one of the many Christmas apps would've sufficed but instead, as usual, they splurge and the result is lack lustre.

I'm a fan of black and white photography but this photo, especially the background, looks too drab for a Christmas card.

It also seems a shame that Catherine looks less like herself and more like she has been Kardashianified/filtered.
