Part 2 of a nice, unproblematic thread to discuss some of the fab outfits from the Duchess of Sussex, and some of the many great causes she (and Harry) and Archewell supports.

its a hard hemline to carry off, but she has lovely legs so can wear any length

mrsmingleton · 04/10/2023 19:21

I think the grey outfit hits her across the middle where she is quite straight up and down hence less flattering. Simple styles suit her the best for sure. As regard a trendsetter I wouldn't really agree. White jeans have always been about and every old woman in Florida wears them 😃

Roussette · 04/10/2023 19:45

I wear white jeans a la Hurley ooops!
And I'm old double oopsie!

mrsmingleton · 04/10/2023 19:53

I love white jeans too and am also old 😂

Oh, not the colour of the jeans, I meant the whole look. Works very well with her frame.

MistyBay · 04/10/2023 20:52

She has a tricky shape whereas she has a short, square torso and therefore a wide waist. I have that too and know that it can be hard to dress.

MissElinorDashwood · 04/10/2023 20:53

I’m sure you ladies look gorgeous in your white jeans!

👌🏼

Ineedwinenow · 04/10/2023 22:57

I look great in white jeans if I stay still! Once I move then they are automatically stained whether I’ve walked past something or not. I just don’t bother trying anymore!

I applaud any of you ( and Meghan/Catherine) who can do an entire day without as much as a mark! I’m pretty sure I’m failing at adulting…

Haha! I do remember a particular incident decades ago when on a girls holiday abroad

After a night clubbing, me in my new white jeans, we bought chips in a cone to eat as we walked back to our hotel. I used to love tomato sauce. The cone had a hole in the bottom. You can guess the rest. It looked like I'd committed a homicide. Or worse. I need say no more 😂

Roussette · 04/10/2023 23:17

What, the homicide?!

(Sorry, couldn't resist! 😅)

I know someone who flew with children wearing white trousers. She thought they were old enough … 🤣

CoughingMajoress · 05/10/2023 15:07

I recently had to take my pet rat somewhere, and I was wearing a blindingly white brand new very fancy jacket.

Decided to buy a chocolate bun from Gails (the really sticky chocolate and hazelnut one).

Rat refuses to stay in cage, insists on travelling on shoulder.

Rat insists on sharing chocolate bun while on shoulder.

Arrived with face entirely smeared with chocolate, yet, somehow, mysteriously, not an atom of chocolate on jacket!

MissElinorDashwood · 05/10/2023 16:01

Why do you have a pet rat?!
Where we’re you taking your pet rat?
I have so many questions 😭

(none to do with white clothing)

I'm surprised that they are announcing this taking into consideration they were involved in a dangerous car chase with paps the last time they were there. Surely it would be better to do it by stealth?

colourwheelofortune · 05/10/2023 20:21

Hopefully the Archwell event will be well attended and will push the online safety agenda. That can only be a good thing.
As @mrsmingleton says, watch out for paps and don't get into any yellow cabs this time.

Howsimplywonderful · 05/10/2023 20:40

@MissElinorDashwood

as you are so worried about the Wales’ kids being exploited for PR purposes (and you have really laboured that point) are you not worried about these kids experiences being exploited by the Sussex’s especially when they and their parents have to sign NDA’s and under Archwell t&c’s their stories will now be the property of Archwell, which is ironic when they claim to be giving parents a voice ?

Perhaps you could explain

Here is a nice picture of Meghan being out and about - here’s the Twitter link. Back to looking relaxed.

I’m always glad when people champion online safety especially for the young. I’ve always thought I was internet savvy and certainly thought I had all my bases covered and then Breck Bednar’s story hit the news and that is the thing that made me really sit up and pay attention. I’ve stopped posting my children’s images on social media and seriously monitor my children’s online use (which is mostly eye watering boring) - anything and everything which brings awareness and attention to this can only be a good thing.

Totally agree, this is a great thing for them to be involved in and I think most parents realise it's important.
