Hollywood Reporter is a reputable "business" publication in LA, and Variety also reported it.

It's a very prestigious agency - it is a HUGE step up for her. She had zero chance of signing with an agency like that prior to her marriage.

Excellent - maybe she can get get some work that plays to her talents and doesn’t rely on talking about the royal family - I’m not sure what she would do - maybe some advertising work for L’Oréal etc - she’s not focusing on acting apparently

She has been brilliant at choosing the right friends/partners to lift her profile at each stage of her rise to celebrity from humble beginnings.
Right from the beginning Trevor Engleson, Mischa Nonoo, Serena, Corey, Jessica M etc.

Not to forget Oprah, Gayle and Ellen. It is actually a valuable skill in that world.

I have friends with WME. It's one of the top agencies but they will take anyone they think they can make money out of. Dylan Mulvaney is with CAA, the other big agency.

Her life, her decision.

I find it incredible that in this day and age everyone is expecting her to conform to the demands of others on how she lives her life. She was an actress before, why nit?

If joining an agency is a ‘big step up’ from being a member of the RF, presumably she’ll dispense with the titles…

A bit of Hollywood quid pro quo detail I noted is that the wife of the Head of the agency owns STAUD - Meghan was wearing that brand at the Lakers game this week.

Great news...back to her roots, she can now presumably drop the titles and start working for a living instead of cashing in on her brief 72 working days as a royal. Wishing her all the success.

After her gorgeous make over and the way she's distanced herself from the RF, she seems to be moving forward in a positive and dynamic way. It does seem like Harry is still stuck in the past bitterness and vendettas, he just be a very boring and draining person to be around.

You've got to hand it to Meghan - her talent is to become a rich celebrity for the sake of becoming a rich celebrity with no actual, raw talent underpinning it and she will keep on rising ever upwards. She is smart enough to realize that she doesn't have anything special to give but since her efforts have paid off and she has an expensive lifestyle to maintain then why should she get bogged down by matters of conscience, self awareness and the rest?

I was curious about this and why she needs it, she did have all her own staff with Archewell, I think maybe she fired them all, not sure, and she did have a deal with Netflix, has Netflix canned it now?

that agency sign is about her mates Serena, Oprah etc, so no big news, but why she needs an agency now. Also she wants to do content and produce. But she’s little to no experience, so she’d just be brought in for her name or as a favour to her by someone in the industry.

To be fair though, if she’s now forging a career path on her own and not just selling stories about the royals then I’m all for that, even if she is using her name and marriage to get that career path. I guess though she’s sold everything there is to sell , knows the public don’t want to hear it again so now she can use her marriage and title to try to get some work. It’s the gift that keeps on giving. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Well yes, we can’t have it both ways, they are not funded by the King, and savings are limited, so they are going to work. Harry’s book won’t keep them forever, so the one who had proper jobs in the past is intending to work again, and understands how to maximise her earning potential.

my big hope is she’s in something good. It would boil the piss of the Mail if H&M end up walking red carpets while she’s in stuff picking up awards, can you imagine the explosion of rage from Sarah Vine ?! It would be beautiful.

120 million would keep most folks forever and their future generations too, but I guess not with their lifestyle, no.

I’d be willing to bet that WME just did a splash in Variety about this news because they have something big to announce - may as well start the buzz before you drop the news, right? And I think it’s quite likely Meghan would like to have something big to announce this week. After all, after months of no appearances she’s been out and about a few times this week already, just days out from a big Royal family event, coincidentally. Will be interesting!

(anyone else find it interetsing that it’s just Meghan they have announced they are representing, not Harry as well. I wonder what he is planning on doing next? And WME announced they’d be working on film and TV production, brand partnerships and overall business-building. Except she already has production deals though Archewell with Netflix and Spotify. What has happened to those?)
