Thanks for the link. As I said, Royal warrants allow businesses to flog all sorts of tat, from marmalade to gin. That's a pretty lucrative royal connection for those granted the warrant. As the link you shared explains, they are granted to companies with trade connections to the RF, as suppliers etc.

It's an odd novel, isn't it, as DdM is not quite clear about how she wants us to view Rachel. First half we view her through the lens of her husband, second half through the lens of his cousin, the man who has come to love her, even as he is unsure about her.

I won't spoil it in case @custardbear decides to read it, but it's ending leaves a lot open.

But don't you find that weird? I do. There's some real strong Royalists on here but most have transferred their feelings and admiration for the Monarchy to disdain and dislike for H&M. Almost like the monarchy is an irrelevance for them now

But how do you know whether they are royalists? I was called a royalist on here when I am not. If you support Harry then you are still pro-monarchy just as Harry described himself as being.

I genuinely can't get over the obsession with Meghan "overshadowing the Coronation." It's a flimming flamming Coronation, how can it be overshadowed by a woman said to be irrelevant??

What IS overshadowing the Coronation is the endless talk and analysis and reports and combing over of everything she does or doesn't do.

But back to WME, she was apparently being courted by a few agencies. Ari Emmanuel is a big beast, and if he is handling this personally, it's a huge deal, and she and Harry and Archewell are in safe hands. She is definitely not the spent force the UK tabloids and Chatterati have been desperate to portray her as.

His brother Rahm, now US ambassador to Japan, was Obama's chief of staff. Ari is also the person on whom the main character in Entourage is based, for those familiar with the series.

So thrilled for Meghan.

I hope that Meghan and Harry prosper after this too, away from the hate.

We will never know for sure who said what, what bits are true, but it certainly sells newspapers, generates online traffic to gossip sites.

I do think the British monarchy will have to take a long, hard look at itself and how relevant it is in the modern world.

Not that it’s that relevant anyway really but on the topic of coronations I asked my DM if saw or celebrated the late Queen’s one in 1953 (she’d have been almost 12 then). My DM’s family is part direct German and she was brought up by and lived with her DF and DGM from 5 to 12 years. She said she remembered nothing, whether this was because her DF sometimes felt not British (born in Luxembourg, brought up in Germany) or not I don’t know.
