Prince Harry - sounds articulate and quite intelligent

There seems to be an accepted view that Prince Harry is very dim and unintelligent but he seems to be to be really quite articulate and have a wide vocabulary (antagonist, complicit.) I've thought this before when he made a speech at the Invictus games but assumed it was written for him and he was reading it but the answers to the questions in the interview couldn't all possibly have been learnt,

I don’t think he has a diagnosis. His cousin does and is active in charities it’s it. Never heard Harry did and if he does he shouldn’t have been at Eton.

Why shouldn’t he have been at Eton if he had dyslexia?

He's expensively educated, not well educated. He left Eton with 2 A levels, a D and a B.

He still used amount instead of number 🙄

BradfordGirl · 08/01/2023 23:39

Just googled and Harry DOES have dyslexia.

I love how his learning difficulty was brought up on the thread by someone as if they were suggesting he had a very low IQ.
Dyslexia is very common.

People on mn like to other him, call him dim/thick and so on,, I have even seen posters saying he has lds
says a lot about the posters

Why is that othering? There is no moral value to being clever. It's just a statement of fact that none of the windsors are very bright (in terms of academic achievement) and a lot of sources descibe Harry as particularly dim.

No ones saying he's Matt Damon, just not bright.

I don't understand why some people pretend the RF are good, kind, gifted and competent; that's not how monarchs are chosen and it flies in the face of all evidence. There was someone the other day insisting Charles and Camilla are really good looking.

LivelyBlake · 08/01/2023 23:39

He can talk, and he can whine.

He may be intelligent, although he didn’t do well at school, but his recent actions show that he doesn’t know what to do with his life. I pity him.

😂 posh accent doesn't equal intelligence. He sounds like he's regurgitating life coaching/therapy jargon

This! He just waffled on an on...

doory · 08/01/2023 23:40

He's personable I think & well versed in speaking to the media

Prince Charles has two A-Levels, which are a B in History and a C in French.
And yet no one is suggesting he is extremely dim.

donquixotedelamancha · 08/01/2023 23:41

On the one hand you have a man who has cultivated an approachable, buffoon like persona to disguise an extremely intelligent, calculating personality.

I don't think that's true at all. I think Johnson was genuinely a buffoon. He wasn't think but nor was he competent.

GyozaGuiting · 08/01/2023 23:41

i didn’t think he sounded articulate. He has a posh accent, but that’s it.
Fair amount of therapy speak.

pigalow27 · 08/01/2023 23:41

Comparing Johnson and Harry, as has been done on this thread, is interesting.

On the one hand you have a man who has cultivated an approachable, buffoon like persona to disguise an extremely intelligent, calculating personality. Which other PM in history has been commonly known by their first name? Not even the ever personable Tony Blair achieved that.

On the other you have a distinctly average man who has tried to cultivate the image of being very intelligent to disguise the fact he is not.

Both come from incredible privilege but thereafter their similarities end.

I wasn't really comparing them apart from their lack of emotional intelligence and common sense at times. My point was that if a man as academically gifted as Boris can do utterly foolish things then it is perfectly possible that Prince Harry is not dim or stupid but perhaps slightly above average.

Having seen how the DM hounded my friend after his wife died, I appreciate that Harry is trying to shine a light on the way that particular area of the media works.

This is really interesting though, what he said said about Susan Hussey:

“Meghan and I love Susan Hussey. She [Meghan] thinks she’s great. And I also know that what she meant . . . she never meant any harm.”

He wasn’t there and he’s potentially saying that a black woman, Ngozi Fulani, is wrong in feeling that it was racist. I don’t know either way but I’d certainly not be announcing to millions that the person impacted is wrong. It’s a bit as though only they can be wronged.

100% this. Like the Caroline Flack name drop, total over reaching to make them the centre of every story he could possibly relate himself to in even the most tenuous of ways. Disingenuous and cynical, sorry I don’t buy that a man who broadcast he killed 25 Afghan people as a British soldier to have the wit to come up with these themes on his own.

I agree none of the Royal Family are that bright.
But to suggest someone is extremely dim is supposed to be a slur. It is saying - oh do not listen to him, he is just stupid.

AuroraCake · 08/01/2023 23:42

BradfordGirl · 08/01/2023 23:37

@AuroraCake I did not say he had dyslexia. But I believe the question was raised early on if he could have dyslexia or not.
Why would having dyslexia mean you can not be at Eton? some simple adjustments mean many children with dyslexia are high achieving.

Of course they can. Eton isn’t the place to get that support though. You will just be stigmatised. Beatrice went to schools that could meet her needs. If this was his issue, he should have too.

MaverickGooseGoose · 08/01/2023 23:42

He says 'wiv' instead of 'with' which irrationally irritated me.

He also kept going back to the same phrases and comments likes he's swallowed a therapy book.

Mañanarama · 08/01/2023 23:43

Does anyone have a link about Harry being dyslexic? I can only find stuff on Facebook, Quora and iffy “news” websites.

BradfordGirl · 08/01/2023 23:44

@AuroraCake You think no one with any SEN should go to Eton? What about a physical disability? Use a cane? Should you also not be at Eton?

He must have rehearsed his answers for days. He has plenty of time for that, after all.

Stepuptowardsinfinity · 08/01/2023 22:49

This. Plus he's certainly drunk the kool-aid on critical race theory, as his repetition ad nauseam of 'unconscious bias' and its role in racism shows.

The repetition was almost comical .It was only his smug self righteousness that made his instructions to 'work on it' that made it unfunny.
His denial that he had called members of the RF racist - he really thought he'd outwitted all of us. He was SO self satisfied.

MajesticWhine · 08/01/2023 23:45

It was boring, waffly and self-absorbed. Repeating the words institution and accountability over and over doesn't make you intelligent.

BradfordGirl · 08/01/2023 23:45

FYI Eton has a learning support unit and gives specialist support to pupils with SEN like dyslexia. So Harry did belong there.

Backstreetsbackalrightdadada · 08/01/2023 23:46

“Meghan and I love Susan Hussey. She [Meghan] thinks she’s great. And I also know that what she meant . . . she never meant any harm.”

WOW. Again, the women just massively upset someone and was racist but as long as her intentions were innocent then that’s ok. It’s like him with his bloody book! “Well I didn’t intend to upset anyone…”.

Racism doesn’t exist if it doesn’t affect his family, I guess.

donquixotedelamancha · 08/01/2023 23:46

To be clear I think the entire RF is dim, unqualified and lacks any relevant expertise to render their opinions of any value. I don't listen to any of them and was not singling Harry out.
