Harry and Meghan's show is number 1 on Netflix in the UK and US. Did you watch it people of Mumsnet?

I love them both but haven't watched. I plan to after Christmas.

I think I read that M was given a list of tiaras to pick from but she wanted another one that she knew about? Does that ring any bells?

Only from mn. Never read it in papers etc.. Sometimes gossip seemingly started on social media gets picked up by certain tabloids and printed - using ‘sources’ etc when the source was social media.

Just an observation. I can’t remember specifics but a couple of times I’ve seen articles printed a week or two after I’ve first seen the actual gossip on sm. it’s a bit murky at times.

I thought Meghan confirmed the tiara story to some degree on Oprah? Didn't she say she wanted a different one originally? Or am I misremembering?

ImAvingOops · 19/12/2022 07:56

If someone offered me a choice of tiaras, I don't think I'd be rude enough to ask for one that hadn't been offered.
Presumably she'd discovered google by then, to even know that other tiara existed. To me, it points to the disingenuousness of previous assertions that she knew little about the RF and does lend some weight to the stories about staff members finding her difficult.

I’ve read it in several newspapers but sometimes MM supporters just want to deny things.

BethJ62 · 19/12/2022 08:08

It was first reported in autumn 2018 and has been mentioned in books .
I don’t think Meghan ever denied the stories .

My point was: social media sometimes influences what is seen in some newspapers. And the first place I saw it was on my.

people who think well of Meghan often also think well of Kate. It’s not one or the other as far as I’m concerned. I will pick apart neither of them. I think both have experienced awful misogyny, and Meghan has experienced racism as well, from the tabloid media. And I think the RF let them both bear the brunt of it. You wouldn’t marry into that family for quids - all the quids.

Morestrangethings · 19/12/2022 09:03

‘my’ should read mn (mumsnet).

ImAvingOops · 19/12/2022 09:41

But people do marry in, so it might not be as terrible as many on MN believe. I can certainly see the plus points to immense wealth and privilege!
