Kate has been fabulous since the Queen's death, such poise & self awareness. I think Carole & Michael did a great job & don't get enough recognition.
I don't know the family personally nor have i met them but there has never been tell all stories about them or Kate & Pippa which says alot..

The monarchy might not make it that far depending on public attitude to Charles reign.

But can we give the Middleton's a bit of credit. I'm a similar age to Kate but there's no way I'd have had the maturity, self-awareness & confidence to infiltrate royal circles at such a young age..

She'd been going out with William for a long time before that happened so I'm sure they'd have had lots of discussion about what to expect. Some posters on a previous thread suggested that included tolerating William's right to cheat as reward for a life of privilege. I really hope they're wrong there.

I don’t see anything so special about her. She’s a 40 year old woman who has had every privilege in life. And praising her parents is infantilising.

I think Catherine, the Princess of Wales is a huge asset to the RF. There have never been any scandals about any of her family. I believe in the past Pippa turned down a six figure sum to discuss her relationship to Catherine and her children. Also you never see the Middleton's pushing themselves forward or seeking attention. So thankful Prince of Wales married into such a decent family.

I wouldn't want her life for me or my daughters, but she does the job extremely well. The royal family should be bowing at her and her family's feet, not the other way round.

I suspect their healthy family relationships have done wonders for William, and that she will do a better job of raising emotionally intact children than previous generations of royals.

I think she is absolutely brilliant and she appears to be so unassuming and not making it all about her. William chose wisely

The Middletons are looked dow upon by their circles because the inheritance came from an aunt who had no children. This was their chance for world recognition and asserting themselves as deserving to be at the top of the totem pole.
They have been cashing in on the royal name too.

Kate herself was shy and not academic, hence had to move schools. When William came for a game one time, she was just a shy wallflower eyeing him from the background and he never took notice of her.

She never had a proper job, just an internship from her mum's friend and role in mum's company. She was 30 by the time she married, so should have been all well, or showing great potential, job wise.

Spent over a decade 'learning' her future queen role, but seems inadequate. So not sure what you are so full of praise for. She sounds mediocre to me.

This. You have hit the nail on the head. I can not get over the amount of simpering going on regarding members of the Royal family at the moment. I am not including the Queen in this btw. They do not have to do much of anything to receive such praise. It is barmy the way some people are going on.

Absolutely. I'd say the same about the Tindalls, too. Healthy family relationships all round.

Thing is there are countless women who could have fulfilled her role. Give me my own team and a bunch of money and I too will smile at babies and cup cakes in ridiculously high heels. That said not that many people end up getting exactly what they want - her changing unis to go to St Andrews was a huge gamble but for her it paid off.
