The Middleton's did a great job raising our future queen!

Kate has been fabulous since the Queen's death, such poise & self awareness. I think Carole & Michael did a great job & don't get enough recognition.
I don't know the family personally nor have i met them but there has never been tell all stories about them or Kate & Pippa which says alot..

Personally she always looks cold and a bit thin-lipped with displeasure, if you ask me. I can't respect a woman who would put up with a cheating husband to make queen. She's hanging in there by her claws!

i like her and think she does her role very well. but the idea that bringing a daughter up to be a mans support seems an odd fit for mn.

Were you raised in a wealthy privileged family, where throughout your entire childhood and school career, you had confidence and entitlement drummed in to you?

Yes these threads are generally populated by a small but dedicated (and possibly paid) smattering of spiteful Meghan fans, who generally manage to say far nastier and more offensive things than anyone ever says about Meghan.

No unfortunately I had quite rthe opposite.

In the past there were lots of stories about how the Middletons were 'social climbers', etc. That many in the Royal 'set' (hangers on), did not really like the Middletons.
They used to say 'doors to manual', in reference to Mrs Middleton's former cabin crew job.
(maybe someone could explain what that means, and why it is considered so derogatory).
However, I think the real importance is that the Middletons are a loving family, with parents who have not divorced, etc.
This maybe some significance to William, whose parents (Charles and Diana), divorced, and also Diana's parents had a very acrimonious divorce.
He gets to see a how a normal (though rather rich) family behave together, etc

She is an irreproachable set of surfaces topped with a glossy blow-dry, and appears to have been designed by a committee of backroom courtiers whose brief was ‘maximum public-facing inoffensiveness’ and ‘none of the emotional incontinence of Princess Diana’ — this woman is a safe pair of hands. Looks nice in a coat dress, will never give interviews about her crowded marriage or be caught having her toes sucked by a lover on a sun-lounger. Like all royals, she’s intended primarily as a thing to be looked at.

(It’s also quite weird you’re giving credit to the parents of a 40 year old for her behaviour, as though she’s a toddler being praised for not grabbing…)

Strange to congratulate parents on the actions of their adult child. Would you look at criminals and tut at their crap parents?

I think she does very well carrying out her royal duties. I also think she is doing an excellent job bringing up her children. They appear a lovely family. I also think Kate's family have given Prince William an experience of normal family life which he lacked due to losing his mother young and growing up in the public eye. Whilst their children will benefit from the best education money can buy in other ways they cannot just do as they please with their money...eg. they could no doubt afford lots of nice holidays but are not able to have them as it would be frowned upon in the press.
